I purchased this foundation last week and am loving it on my normal to slightly dry skin. It gives me the level of glow I would like to have, depending on the powder applied, and lasts a solid 12 hours. Definitely a winner, which is a good thing, given that it is pricey! Thank you for your consistently excellent reviews. I am glad I stumbled upon your channel a couple of months ago!
I think the Chanel looks lovely with the barest of powder. It's slightly mattifying but it gives the skin a flawless, natural, and healthy appearance. But after all, its CHANEL you know its got to be good!! Thanks
I love this foundation! I have combo mature skin, and use Tretinoin: this foundation is one of the best I’ve used! Believe it does not have alcohol in it..?! YAY! Also tried the new Charlotte T. Foundation and sadly that one was a thick hot 🥵 mess on me! Good review, thanks!
I tried this foundation yesterday, the colour Bd31 was absolutely spot on. I just didn’t like the dryness I got after about an hour. Showed every pore and wrinkle, even after setting. Looks beautiful on you but prefer the CT on you, that looks stunning 🤩
I think I like the CT better (haven't worn it in DAYS) - but this offered me an unusual flexibility I don't get from my other foundations in that it really went pretty matte when I used a bit more powder than usual.
@@TheHoodedLid so I changed the shade to BD30, put a rich moisturiser (Ole Henrikson) and an illuminating primer on and boom, it is now my holy grail 🤩

I have been using the Chantecaille Future Skin Cushion Compact, and in the summer sometimes the regular Future Skin, but I felt like a change. You made me buy it😂 and I’m so pleased! B20 is the perfect shade for my Skin Tone. I’ve mature skin that can sometimes be a little bit dry and flaky due to the use of tretinoin. So for me this foundation is neither too mat nor too glowy and it works very well with different moisturizers and sunscreens. Thank you again for your review.
So glad you like it! Jelly that the shade works for you...I may have to find a store that carries it (my Ulta doesn't) to see what the BR shades are like - I know I tried them years ago, but they didn't work for me - it's a great foundation though.
I like this foundation on you. I think it's a very good color match. This color should work for me too. I tend to break out so I will wait to see how it works out for others before I buy.
As you thought that the CT foundation was more yellow and a better colour for you, you should try the Chanel BD21 instead, which is slightly more yellow than the B20.
It's not that yellow foundations are my jam - it's that the B20 seemed more peach - which often works for me, but head-to-head, I felt the CT looked better color-wise
I just got my foundation yesterday and I have to say at first, I was like "it's going back, too shiny". But with a light dusting of powder it DOES stay matte all day long , not cakey either. I'm for sure keeping it, as it looks beautiful on the skin and lasts all day.
I wish the CT foundations worked for me but they are too yellow. I am excited to try this foundation as Chanel formulas and shades work so well for me. Thanks for your review!
I bought this foundation the other day but it’s a bit too warm for my skin tone. I love it tho and will buy another shade and keep the one I have now for summer. You look lovely in both the Chanel and CT.
I bought the L’EAU. It's very lovely, but I didn't know til now that green tea essentially is a camelia leaf, now when I know, this N1 scent makes sense to me. I kept saying to myself - it's smells like green tea 😊
I don't have dry patches, which I try to mention in reviews so people that do can take that into consideration. You may really like this Chanel foundation.

I tried this foundation today, it's natural , blends smoothly but after few minutes inside my mouth I was tasting some bitterness !!! I don't put foundation on my lips , never , I try as much as possible blending outside my lips . The other products like face cream etc was the same as usual. So did that bitterness came from foundation!! I think so ....
So glad I found your channel! I treated my self a few months ago to Chanel make up. It was a " new " water based The Beiges water fresh tint-- super sheer almost like a highlighter for me in medium plus. So I went back and bought Vitalumiere Aqua in Beige. 😂. Kinda mix the 2 on my face( just turned 69😳) But have decent skin- a little sun damage. I think I like the aura of Coco Chanel - but I probably will never spend that much money on foundations again. Would you say this is better or worse than the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin.. ? which I just bought .. I have the same issues as you, dry skin some lines ( who am I kidding, I’m 53 a lot of lines.🙄😂) and a tiny bit of rosacea..I wear exactly same shade in the CTBS 4 N.xx
It's such a personal thing - but the CT seems to provide more coverage and if you have rosacea, I think you'll find it very comfortable and even comforting on/to the skin.
I bought and returned Chanel No 1. Too drying skin felt dehydrated in evening after I washed my face with LPR cream cleanser. And no matter what I did I had that old lady dry paper powdered mat flat no glow whatsoever look and I don’t use powder. The only time this looked nice was when I pressed a damp wash cloth on my face ( probably took off 1/2 of the product) I do not recommend or if you do try buy from somewhere you can return. $70 is a lot to spend on a foundation that may or may not work. I will say bd10 was an excellent shade match.
Can anyone help me with shade advice? I have to order online. I'm deciding bw b20 and bd21. I'm slightly warmer/yellower than hooded Lid, I would say "light neutral leaning warm." luminous silk 4. Does the b20 lean any direction? Some pple seem to say it's too yellow and others say it's pinky. Any guidance from pple who own this foundation would be appreciated!
I was stuck between those shades as well and ultimately decided upon B20. I would suggest you do the same, since it's a really flattering neutral shade leaning slightly yellow while BD21 dries down pretty orange.

I don't remember, I have A LOT of sunscreens and rotate so I'm sure to use them up before they expire. But most of me SS leave a sheen - I find matte sunscreens to be very drying on my skin!
I cannot understand why anyone would want to do a face of makeup, then proceed to take perfume and spray it all over your face. That is what you are doing when they mix the horrible smells in with the makeup. It is bad for the skin, also it doesn’t make the makeup last. It’s mostly more luxury makeup that does this so essentially if you can afford the makeup surely you can afford the perfume to spray in your face. That way if for whatever reason you want perfume on your face you can choose the smell.
The European based high end brands do this more than anyone. I think it's because they want the application of the product to be an "experience" and put the same fragrance in all their products (skincare and make-up) so the user gets a sensorial association thing going. The sense of smell is very tied into memories. In other words - it's a marketing thing. I agree, it's an ingredient we're paying for, and yet it does nothing to enhance this skin and can be unpleasant for people and can also be sensitizing to others.
VERY VERY disappointed in this foundation. Luckily I tried it an alternate days alongside the IT cosmetics your skin but better and I was able to see the huge difference. The It cosmetics one is one third of the price less and twice as beautiful. This Chanel foundation felt oily, did absolutely nothing for my skin to blur or improve its appearance. It got oilier as the day went on . The one good thing it looked imperceptible but then again so does the It cosmetics one. Even thought it was undetectable the Chanel one did really nothing to make my skin look more refined. Whereas the It cosmetics one looked like a veil. The only thing I need to say is the It cosmetics can look a little matte ,although not a flat or dehydrated matte but it certainly is less luminous. But at the same time my skin looked beautiful with the It cosmetics one whereas with the Chanel I looked like I was wearing a CVS product . I had much higher expectations from a product that is over 70 dollars.
