Popping up your pickleball dinks? It is likely because of your paddle swing. Specifically, too much backswing in your pickleball shots.
Same happens with your pickleball volleys. You are missing them long or into the net - sometimes missing them outright. Too much swing in your shots.
In this video we demonstrate this common cause of errors in your dinks and volleys. We also show you how to fix the errors by adopting a pickleball swing that is the least you need to get the job done. And that is how you will reduce the errors in all your shots.

Fabulous information that makes so much sense. I will be mindful of my back swing in helping me to have a compact swing tomorrow when I play. Thanks as always Tony for your help.

Thank you Michele. Glad the video helped see the error cause.

yep my overheads are inconsistent and many times feel good but go straight out the back court ---I thought it was a timing issue but no, definitely the backswing and paddle being open at point of contact--a no-no thanks! a more experienced player once told me to never take the paddle back behind my hip when hitting from the transition zone. good advice that I remembered while watching this vid

Great to review swing basics. When I was just learning, a guy had me use a stretch band to secure my arm against my body to control backswing and show me I could get plenty of power with my torso. Are you using the ICON currently or is this video old? New ICON out soon.

Hello Kimbo. Between paddles. Haven’t had a chance to try out the new icon yet but a big fan of the original one.

@@BestPickleballCoach I like Diadem as a company. I also have the VICE, which is super fun and easy on my bad tennis elbow problem. The new ICON has some new features that have me thinking about getting one. Hoping that USAPA lets EVA foam the game. Their logic is kinda weak IMO.

I'm not going to look as cool and scary, but I'll try it!😄

I think many take a long back swing on the serve as sort of a ritual.

Agree for some but still adds that extra risk :)

Yep...too much swing results in 'miss timed shots' ending up not where you want ball will end up.
