This is a follow-up video to the call-to-arms video I published a couple of weeks ago asking if anyone had any faulty test gear they wouldn't mind donating to my channel.
I have received some items already, and some still on the way......but one donation has blown me away, and as promised to the person in question I have made an unboxing video.

Thanks Ian you honour me greatly. My most recent employment was as a cabinet maker and the last item was built by me specifically to hold the Raaco trays enjoy. Each time you take one out 'feel the quality' ???

What an extremely kind gesture from Richard and I am so sorry to hear of his poor health. It's a great collection of parts and test gear probably amassed over decades, and it has gone to an excellent new home indeed.

Richard: Must have really been hard to give this all up but an amazing thing you did. Too many workshops of all sorts just disappear when the owners that loved them and built them can no longer use them. You gave yours a good 2nd life. Well done. I hope you get to enjoy them vicariously for a long time yet through Ian.

What a generous guy Richard is. Many people, even when they're no longer able to use their workshop keep it as they can't bare to part with it. To donate it to someone like Ian is the best thing to do because you can guarantee he'll make the best possible use of it and share his experience with us.

So many people do that and then it ends up in the garbage because whoever inherits thinks it has no value or has no time to get it to an appropriate place. I've heard that swedes have an end-of-life tradition of getting rid of stuff before they go so that there's less work needed after the fact. I wonder if other cultures have such a thing...

Not really noticeable in the video but the hoard of electrolytic caps I now have is huge, including tons of axial ones. Nichicon, Epcos, Sprague and vintage MUO.

For some reason I got most excited when I saw the two art of electronics books. I've been wanting one of those. Just hard to shell out that much on a book for something I mostly tinker with in my spare time. Nice haul.

Someone gave me cabinets of components, but it was too hard to find stuff so I catalogued them all so I can quickly find if I had the part on the list. The problem was that it took ages to catalogue - ouch! -.

I've worked on my ZD-915 a bit, upgrading the output caps in the power supply and adding a Tusotek DC-DC converter to replace the dropping resistors. I'll add a pump relay later on. The only issue I've had with mine is occasional hard clogging of the barrel, requiring me to use a tight fitting aircraft length drill to drill it out.

"little follow up video" - 20min Maybe you'd be able to make a "open design" DIY project using a smattering of those parts? Nice filtered linear adjustable supply, or a simple test equipment, etc, using the resistors, an enclosure, connectors etc.

Will you be selling any of the stuff that you definitely won't need. Were there any AMD K6 socket 7 CPUs in the box of CPUs? Im currently working on a socket 7 motherboard.
