I've always believed that houses absorb memories and energies of the people who lived there before. I've had people laugh at me for saying it. A few years ago I had moved to France and with my partner at the time we looked into buying an old house to restore and settle in. I found two houses. One was particularly interesting to me. We would even end up with a spare bedroom if friends wanted to visit. We went to visit the house. It was a good size. Structurally sound. Really old. As soon as I walked in I got really intense bad vibes emanating from every room. We only spent about 15 minutes walking round the house with the estate agent and by then my head was splitting (I rarely suffer from headaches and they're only ever minor ones) like a full on migraine. By the time we left, I felt like asking for someone to help me walk. I was so drained. Needless to say we didn't buy it. Well, we didn't buy any house in the end as the relationship came to a very abrupt end after my bank account got emptied by my then partner. I'll never forget the house though. Really left a bad mark. After we left and told the estate agent it was a no, I told her I just had bad vibes about it. She told me that someone had died in the house. Funny, the moment we walked into the house I had a fleeting "knowing" (if that makes sense-it wasn't an image but more like a smell - I know it sounds weird) that more than one person had died there and in violent circumstances. I'm saving this video for future reference. Thanks again. I'll be racing round our house with the hoover tomorrow (2 a.m. - don't think my neighbours would appreciate me doing it now!!)

When your clock chimes, it makes me think of my great-grandmother's. Instead of returning to one chime, it would strike 13 o'clock. She had it fixed several times, but once she had it back home, it would soon return to thirteen chimes.
+Winonah D. Clocks are very strange beings... they definitely try to bring messages to us sometimes. We have never been able to get this kitchen clock to chime properly... maybe it goes right for a day or so, but then it's back to its old tricks. Maybe we should call it The Joker! Dust is an energy absorbant, because it is mostly made of dead human skin cells and stardust (debree from space - and the remnants of the big bang). I know it sound poetic (and it is!), but that is the reason for the dust holding on to energy, that makes sense to me. Afterbirth of the cosmos and the discarded shells of life.
Thank you, Mrs. P - a very nice talk that brought to mind something that hadn't occurred to me. I've been struggling with depression and anxiety for years and, certainly, my environment has likely absorbed a great deal of that negativity. It's probably in need of a good cleansing and blessing. Em Hotep (I greet you in peace) In ancient times it was very common across cultures to physically clean a space while at the same time energetically doing so. (Floor washes, Smudging, Censing.)This is probably one of the more practical uses of the staff's brother, the broom. Both rule air(one can stir with a stick or "fan"or scrub with a broom), both can be fiery(Physically at least once...But in any case I find that staves vs blades/East vs South are quite interchangeable so I'll pass on that debate :D) In ancient egypt the clergy cleansed a space and maintained a strict level of personal hygiene to be worthy of being able to upkeep the sacred space and do their functions. Ritual bathing for the sake of purity eventually became part of abrahamic practice and ultimately to baptism. Water carries things away and yet is the birth of life. emotions and intuition, salt is pure and kills the things that cause decay and purges sickness and many other uses but it is often the other key ingredient in holy water.(and also blood) Energetically and physically. There are plenty of logical reasons to place faith in something beyond blind hope. If something does something in the physical sense, you can employ the energy of it if you follow. I always cleanse my place before i move in with vinegar & water. And 4 times a year, each season , even if I'm the only one living there. Dust carries a very heavy negative charge. I don't know why, either. Afterwards I'm exhausted just from the physical work but, my spirit is diffantly uplifted for days.

That's been very much my experience too - I think if we are planning on making big alterations then we have to make peace with the spirits of the place first. Glad things have settled for you now. :-)
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us. That is something I have overlooked ~ that houses are made of natural aspects as well (stone, wood..etc) all filled with energy. I appreciate you pointing that out and opening my eyes and heart to my humble abode...something I took for granted, now I see in a whole new light :)
