From a former fairbanksan it’s great to her back in operation. We used to hang out in the park with our kids back in the day. 1985 to 2013. It was a good life and a fun time. Take care and stay safe.
You guys sure have that running very nice! Can tell you got it just right! Very lifelike on the acceleration and operation! That guy is a great engineer! Can tell he’s gentle, cautious, and wasn’t trying to turn it into a thrill ride like trains at some of the parks when the manager isn’t looking. Happy Mother’s Day you all up there in Alaska! Cheers! 😎
A little baby oil, a heating element, air solenoid and a micro switch and you could have the smokestack puffing in time with the cylinders, Optics can be everything.
Pretty cool park you guys got there! Would love a tour showing the other attractions such as the paddlewheeler. Real nice job on the Locomotive, its a treat to see it back in action after all that hard work.
It is the cross-head, it normally has about 1/16" of clearance, I will address it on Monday, they are also having me do some work on a track switch on Monday, it won't be in full operation till Wednesday. The hit was not observable till it was running on the track, we must have put some of the bronze spacers, in a different location than where they had been.
February 16th to May 10th, If we had known the transmission was bad it would have been planned differently, It was not a front burner project till the last month, because the park never uses it before May 1st.
