I'm so glad you did this video and I completely agree with using plants and things that benefit the dragon. I can't wait to see it completed and the process.
Hello I know this is not the right video but I just got jungle mix substrate and I was wondering if I could still feed my gecko live crickets after the crickets have been crawling on the substrate I’m sorry for bothering you but nobody else on RU-vid will answer me thank you
This is cool. I love how natural you are trying to do it. I am trying to go little piece of australia for my bearded dragon too. This is my fist bioactive and I am still trying to figure things out. SO far for grass I have ordered in red rooster grass. I don't know if that is allowed in UK or not. Also planning on putting in purslane varieties, and for cleanup crews apparently there are also a lot of dessert darling beetles in australia, so I am planning on adding a mealworm colony to it and that can also stimulate natural hunting behaviors and he can keep the population in check if they get to be too much... Though right now I am at the trying to sprout the grass seeds so it will be a few months before I can move too much further with this.
Home slice, I get what you're saying, but there are 110% Springtails and Isopods in Australia. Try Exo Terra Stone Desert substrate to get the look you're after
Lol omgosh u cough and say "covid " that's what people wud say if u were out in public and coughed then they"d RUN! I dont know why but to me that was so funny LOVE UR VIDEOS THANK U !!!
I've currently got my beardie on bioactive all from bioactive herps there stuff is great it's all doing really well even all cuc are breeding and thriving but I'm same with arid plants I've tried loads with no success only ones that survive is alo and some grasses can't remember names lol I'm doing same tho trying to find some what will survive humidity and heat it more difficult than you would think to get in uk
Could you give me some advice, as have been scammed on Facebook I ordered a bearded dragon from someone, and payed for it, they keep promising to send dragon, and I still have no dragon, and won't answer my messages when I complain, don't know what my next step is, as I I have also paid for a new vivarium which is set up, hope you can help
I faced the same substrate challenge, I chose to use slate with heatmats under them, topped with a thin layer of excavator clay colored with red oxide to mimic the rusty australian outback. (My type locality model was the gorges in northern australia, specifically Hancock Gorge.) When the clay dries on top of the slate it looks great and natural. And when the dragon empties the bowels of hell it is easy to clean or replace with fresh clay.
Great Video again mate not sure if you've seen Dav Kaufman he's great for this type of stuff he visits a bearded dragons natural habitat if you really want to learn everything give it a look you'll enjoy his videos!
