No car chase is complete without throngs of schoolkids.

Move over Gene Hackman, it's time for Roy Scheider to take the wheel! I wouldn't be at all surprised if this ferocious-as-hell car chase was the only reason this movie got made in the first place. The movie on the whole is skippable, but don't deny yourself one of the most underrated car chases in cinema history.
From The Seven-Ups (1973).

Very cute trick here - when the Grand Ville turns off the GWB, it enters the Palisades Parkway but right after that the scene cuts to the Taconic State Parkway in upstate NY.

The producers of The Seven Ups probably had to do that because NJ didn't permit the filming of the chase on the PIP. It looks like New York State allowed the filming of the chase to continue on the Taconic.

Naturally Bill Hickman drove the big Pontiac as well as the Charger in 'Bullitt'. In this Hickman also has a significant acting role, where he can act as well as drive.

I mean, the Ventura has a similar revving sound, but it goes at different tones.

@@Uraninite yes and they're the same car sounds for the Mustang and Ventura. Not hard to hear that

@@moejr1974 Right, I know that. But, what OP had stated is that the producers had stolen the sound in some way. First, that makes no sense, why would the producers for another movie steal the engine sound from another car? Was that even possible in the 1970's? They have to explain much more instead of claiming such.

I thought the movie was only worthy cause the car chase scene...but the rest of movie was decent....has that , unforgiven nature that life has for people like this , one day you are jesse james , the next one you are a rat in a cage...
