Just as a FYI for ppl signing up with an iPhone (safari) there’s no confirmation but the email still sends when you sign up. Also, a big Ty Thomas-as a full time writer, blogger & gamer, your vids and advice have definitely helped me stay active. It’s such a hard balance for ppl like me-I hope every gamer/writer follows you. The energy and brain power factor is what helped the most tbh. I tried western diet and muscle building the old way and I found myself getting sluggish. But not with Keto/IF and the once per week carb-loading method. I’ve lost 40lbs since June and it seems like my muscles are growing faster than before. Keep up the great work!
Hi Thomas I appreciate all your efforts I have learnt a lot from you but can you please tell these companies to also sell in the UK as we have nothing I have to make everything from scratch and with kids that's a challenge it would be great if the UK did keto alternatives hope you pass my message x
So basically, I can fast for a day (24-36hrs). Eat no carbs during my eating windows for a few days (just fats, protein, and no carb veggies). Then fast again for 24hrs, and still get those energy benefits?
Hi Can you please do a video on pregnancy again... And explain this logic with a pregnant women... Or if this is feasible for us... I really want to know if keto or low carb is ok or not for pregnancy....

Yes, this was great! Learning is fun! Watching this while breaking my 60 hour fast on a baked rainbow trout and artichokes. I'm on maintaining so I'm not always keto. I like to fast for 2-5 days and then ride the extremely low carbs, keto for awhile. And the last bit about doing what's good for your body is resonating as I read a message from a friend that's my age and is suffering through years of a tangled health mess that has him incapacitated. Now he's saying he needs a new doctor. More likely needs to take charge of his own body. It's so sad.
@@larshansen7429 years of listening to the "experts" has created chronic obesity with diabetes, heart disease, fatty livers, strokes, inflammation and cancers. Don't believe it. How long have the current dietary recommendations been in place? How long have these diseases been steadily increasing? See the correlation? If not keep on grazing and carb loading.
@@mmconceicao Oh, yes. I've done that several times. I've been fasting since 1978. Just finished a 3 day fast Friday. I've fasted more than a day hundreds of times. More than once my husband and I fasted 30 days on vegetable juices and water. A dozen times we fasted 15 days on the same...back in the early 80's.5 days of fasting is exhilarating. I've come to enjoy 3 days a little more. Very many people have fasted far longer. Check it out. If you have no experience I would not suggest so many days. People who never in their lives live more than 12 hours without eating would need to work up to it. I must add, my level of health, energy and well-being is phenomenal. I'm 62 and feel fabulous.
yes, he needs to take charge, I found the closed doors at doctors, no one wanted to help me with my weight gain, they just wanted to pump me full of antidepressants, which make you fatter, which makes you more depressed... its a cycle they're keeping you on to bad health and treating the symptoms and not the problems.. I took charge years ago but couldnt get the right advise.. this is making sense and working for me... I have a cheat sheet of the foods I can eat, and its like working with what you have in the pantry... make do and work with these ingredients as if theyre all you have on earth.. and just find different ways to eat them..
Thank you for this concise overview. I have been incorporating quarterly 10-14 day keto cycles for several years now, with great results. I’m continually learning how to do this more effectively from information on your channel.
@@celestialarmor695 they help me stay fat adapted, along with intermittent fasting a few days a week. It also is a good push to be extra healthy for that time, cut out alcohol and sugar and get extra lean.
Oh my goodness! THIS unlocks something in me and gives me motivation. There is power in TRUTH that sets you free. Stepping back into keto has been difficult this time around, but this helps me! Is their a reason it is harder second time around?
In 6th day, I found very noticeable lack of energy and noticeable less restful sleep, waking up 1 hour or more earlier than usual. And I'm retired so my days were not especially strenuous
@@everready2903 workouts definitely suffer in the beginning, however it improves as you go along and further down the line fasted workouts then become the norm!
@@qe9933 I do fasted workouts ie morning workouts then fast usually until the evening. HMB really helps preserve muscle when fasting. But zero carbs is probably a stretch too far for me. Some of my best workouts are when I've filled up on fruit the night before. I have about a 2 to 3 hrs eating window a day. Usually 5pm - 8pm.
I've been keto for 3 years and recently stopped seeing much benefit 😕...so I went carnivore on 10/1/21...36 days 0 carbs, no dairy...and I haven't felt this good in the longest time! Dropped 10 lbs and have clear skin, healed gut and no food cravings....even with strict keto I struggled with these 3 things. I encourage anyone to give it a try...I am absolutely amazed.
U sure 0 carbs? Liver also has a few carbs, so probably more like 4g at best. It's really really difficult to actually consume less than a gram of carbs coz you have to be very picky.
I loved this video! Please PLEASE do more like this maybe dig more into keto or do one on a 72 hour fast? Thanks for all the awesome content over the years
Can you get these companies to also sell in the UK as we have nothing like this available to us I have to make everything from scratch and with kids that's a challenge would greatly appreciate if UK has keto alternatives at our local supermarkets and online 😑😑😑
Im just one example of an outlier. Proper BMI. Athletic, never ate sweets. At 29 my triglycerides went 3x. Then 35 10x normal docs freaked out. No one in my family had cholesterol. Pills didnt do nothing but take it to 8x normal. I cut all bad carbs less than 50g, fasted 2 days and ate OMAD and kept all saturates to 22g per day 90% healthy sats. Work out but HIT and 1 hour walking plus swimming. 6 months later I did test and triglycerides fell to 1.5x normal with good HDL. No doc could explain nor help me 9 yrs what I did in 6 months. So obviously I have an internal genetic issue but with hard strict diet and workout plus work Im happy and still wanna go normal as a healthy lad in 30s. Doctors are so stuck in 1970s med and diets.
thank you, I like the way you present the information. its easy to digest and understand. gives me many 'ah ha' moments. you are changing lives and making them better. I cant thank you enough because no one has listened to my plight, or tried to help me in the right direction. stumbling onto your aldi shopping trip changed the direction of my life .. Ive been watching as much of your relevant content and trying to learn fast.. you make it easy to learn fast.. thank you
I am a big rice eater. I cut it down for over a week now. I eat a piece of bread a day and the rest is protein, fat, and veggies. Even with a small amount of carb still in my diet, by eliminating rice, i feel lighter, less bloated, and my psoriasis less inflamed. Still skeptical if this change helps my lesions but will continue as i feel better about my body so far.
Hey Thomas, could you do some videos on Tim Ferriss's Slow-Carb Diet? I'd definitely like to know how and why this works as well as it does. Please and Thank you!
Great job explaining. I like the cut aways used too. Nice touch. But this videos explains to an absolute tee, why nutrition is the most confusing shit since calculus, hands down.
Ok so im new to this. I cut carbs like Rice, bread, potatoes and refined sugar. The only carbs i eat are very very small. I eat only a slice of cassava or taro, because its a staple of my native diet in the South Pacific. But yes i severely cut carbs. I lost 3kgs in 1 week.
I truely feel bad for these people addicted to sugar/ high glycemic carbs. I quit it gradually over two years by tapering so that is why i can still enjoy carbs in occasion. If you just go cold turkey like a smoker quitting smoking your chances of success are greatly diminished. I should know, i went from being a hummingbird living on mountain dew and cigarettes to a meat low glycemic diet and still enjoy my beer on the weekend and continue to loose weight. Its all about planning and patience.
I need some help here. I need to lose 70 lbs. I’ve lost 40 thru intermittent fasting, but I’ve been stuck for the last year (+- 10lbs). (260 to 220 currently) I did keto for five days and I lost 7 pounds with a lot of great energy. However, I live in the northwest. we had a big snow and it was day five on keto that I went out and shoveled the sidewalk which expended between four and 500 cals. I was so dead! I had no energy; I was completely expended and exhausted. I feel like this is my problem every time. I can fast and lose weight but the moment I try and bring in the exercise I get completely thrown off. What is your best advice from transitioning from changing your diet to a functional exercise program?
Carbs convert to sugar, this is our fuel, any one saying don't eat carbs does NOT know what they re talking about. There are TWO TYPES, High GI and LOW GI, it is the LOW GI you should eat as it converts slower than high gi. Protein is SOLELY for tissue repair and fat does NOT make you fat.
I have been on the keto diet for three months and I no longer need to lose weight so I have introduced some more carbs into my diet. My only complaint is the price of all these keto products that get advertised on this channel.
1st meal Omelet -Canned Salmon -Diced Small Tomatoes -Diced Bell peppers -Avacado -Feta cheese 2nd meal -8 cups of salad -canned salmon salad -extra virgin olive and avacado oil with vinaigrette 3rd meal Alternate 1lb chicken meals Friday and Saturday eat Red meat for dinner and eat a chicken on salad those days. Snacks - Banana, Ground nut, honey shake -yogurt with fruit -fruit bowls (No snacks until after salad digest)
Thank U very much dear Thomas. i am following your videos and i appreciate that you are tackling the physiological aspect in the way u are doing . I am diabetic with the need of insulin intakes, and i have reduce of half my doses since i have started to be in the keto diet .. i know i guess that it will take several months to get rid off of all the stocks of Carbs and toxins piled in my system , i would like to ask you if you considered to tackle the topic of keto diet for the people afflicted by the chronic diabetes of type 1. Easier is the approach for the diabetes of type 2 but the 1 is more obstinate. Would be great to have a specific video for all of us that we are trying to overcome this condition. Thank U again for your great work on earth. Emanuele Scanziani , Illustrator and cartoonist .
I did Keto for 14 days straight but suffered with terrible Keto rash, it's all over my chest and back so this morning out of panic I ate a load of carbs to make it go away as it looks terrible, there is scaring all over my body and the itch is unbearable. I wish more " Doctors" and so-called nutritionalists talked about Keto rash because I would have never started it if I had known this was going to happen.
Has anybody heard that Subway is going low carb? They've come out with some low carb bun! I'm curious if it's related to this company or if they came up with their own, using psyllium husk or something.
You know you can trust Thomas because bro built like he could audition for a superhero movie xD Respect huncho i was concerned about my thoughts to just eat steak no carbs but you reassured i'm not insane. LETS GOOOO
Hello ! I only recently discovered your channel and wow, channel of great interest ! I would really like to know your opinion on my situation (keto-hormones- hirsutism), in advance thank you for your time. - Can the ketogenic diet help fight hirsutism? I have suffered from it for several years and continue.. my hairs continue to grow on male areas, more and more (beard etc.) And i do not want to take pills. I m so so so desperate...If it don t stop i m really afraid about the result. So, the point IS : I m moving towards the ketogenic diet, in addition to iron cure / Omega 3 / Vitamine b6 / powerlifting sessions 4 times a week etc... I would really like to have your opinion on it.. Good continuation ; this channel is awesome, thanks u so much !
I've been eating about 15 carbs a day. Ok so 10 for sure, I'm just adding 5 because i have heard so much about hidden carbs. Anyway, I'm not losing weight, and my blood sugar rarely goes down to 100.. does that mean i need to do a 24-hour fast? I'm trying not to use diabetic medication.
If you are fasting you are not eating carbs. Some people who follow a strict carnivore diet choose not to eat carbs. Nothing is impossible. Improbable, yes. Impossible, no.
Carbohydrates and sugar gives me awful body inflammation. I made a test by eating carbs ( including healthy carbs) and no carb at all. I am feeling better without carbs. Of course I eat a pizza here and there, once in a blue moon.
Must keep the body awash in nutrient density phytochemicals to always fight the most dangerous oxygen species oxidants & must keep feeding the good gut germs all the polyphenols they must get to stay dominant. Would not water fasting be much safer due to autophagy & it starves the bad the gut bugs anyway & it boosts growth hormone to save muscle ??
Well if they gave up all sugar, starch and grain, all moderate and high glycemic food and beverage for 2 weeks they would loose 10 lbs of glycogen and water on average. Thats where ypu actually truly start to count your weight loss after 2 weeks. That is ground zero.
Great video but would be good if you could speak a bit slower. In All your videos you speak so fast and very hard to follow and digest the information you mentioned. Appreciate it 🙏🏻😊
