Just found your video. I am a truck driver and have the new slimline George. This is a life saver for me as far as cleanup. I carry water but don't want to use a ton cleaning up so this is great.
Frank if you have a pet just let them lick the foil clean and reuse another 20 or 30 more times. Plus your saving money on dish soap. It's more Earth friendly that way and much cheaper.
Ok, its 5/4/2021. I bought a small george forman grill yesterday because our gas company keeps letting our gas run out. I had no clue that theyre made in china and the grill racks dont come out so I tbought I better check the reviews on it. So glad I did because I found you guys. I cleaned it all up, put the foil on, sprayed it with oil, and walah! It worked great and wasnt boiled at all because the wet stuff runs off. Thank you so much! Took 7 mins and was perfect.
@La Fa olive oil but I tend to place food on parchment paper now . That way there's no cleaning of the grill needed after use. If I'm grilling chicken I spray parchment paper lightly on one spot then wipe the oil all over. That way chicken etc doesn't stick to parchment paper.
THANK YOU! This is some easy, obvious, yet GENIUS stuff! Not only will this get me to use my Foreman grill more often, I'm gonna apply the 'foil method' to some regular pans when frying up some stuff... (I 'will' research the safety of 'that' idea first though, lol) 😉
Wow This video definitely get a Thimbs up. I’m a Truck Driver and i have been using the GF grill for years not knowing how to use it without making a mess in the truck. I needed to see this video.
After watching this and reading more about Teflon wearing off and what it may do, we are getting a new grill. YAY !!! I told hubby we need cooking utensils that are soft so as not scratch the teflon so new cooking utensils as well !!!
I just got a George Foreman grill for Christmas and started using it at work this past Monday. The foil thing is okay but in my opinion it takes too long to get it just right. I plug my grill in chop what needs chopping and after 4 minutes of preheat I do not use oils or sprays since it says not to do that and I cook my food quick and halfway through the cooling process I use a paper towel and clean it in less time than y'all did rolling the aluminum and like others said you get the grill marks by not using foil and the food cooks thorough and faster without the foil. But hey whatever works for you awesome keep at it.
Excellent! I would've NEVER THOUGHT to do that! I will be doing it from now on! I can't tell you how many finishes I've scratched off of a few George Foreman grills trying to clean it after that hard char that gets stuck on and very difficult to get off without scrubbing harshly from cooking on it! I just like to get the grill lines on bcuz it looks really nice on the meat, but I don't like the really hard char the make the top of the meat so tough while trying to get the meat to my desired level of doneness! Thanks so much for this idea! I got a new grill and I haven't used it much bcuz I hate the cleanup and that hard char on the meat that happens during the cooking process! You just don't understand how excited am right now about this idea of yours! 😊 I'm about to be cooking up some stuff without burning the hell out of it on my George Foreman grill now!💯👌👍🥳😁🤣 Stay blessed guys! Thanks again for this wonderful, game changing tip!👍👌🥳💯😁
I don’t usually leave comments on RU-vid videos I’ve seen but I got to on this one. This is a awesome video and I just want to say thank you for making it just wish I would have seen it years ago. If you have ever tried cleaning a George Foreman grill you know how hard it can be. Don’t listen to these negative comments on here. Try this for yourself. It doesn’t only work on burgers, I just finished cooking a steak and it worked perfect. Thanks again.
Thanks for this info guys, I just made a couple grilled cheese sandwiches using your foil method and literally had to only clean a plastic spatula, a knife, and a plate!
I get the one with the removable grills and use the George Foreman sponges for fast clean up. I replaced the grease catcher with one made of cardboard. Designed so the feet of the grill will not be in the grease. Also the grease trap will not float away from the grease drip line. Line the cardboard grease trap with aluminum foil so it does not leak. Fold in a paper towel. For clean up, wash grills in sink with Joy. Remove paper towel full of cold grease and throw it away. Done.
I use foil for easy cleanup. Yeah i know it can be cleaned by wiping. But if you’re cooking for 1 and you’re hungry AF, you just cook and eat and then clean it later. By that time its caked on and more frustrating to clean. Especially if you season your food or use any type of rub or sauce. Try “just wiping” burnt bbq sauce off the grill.
get over it, they have a job to buy dollar store foil. and you are on food stamps that is payed for with the taxes the couple gets taken out of there pay check.
Got you beat dawg. I just press some beef patties against some aluminum siding on my trailer, and let the hot TX sun do the rest. Wait for rain or hose as needed.
Why would you want grilled food of any type to be crispy? If it's crispy it's overcooked and ready for the trashcan, NOT a plate and definitely not fit for human consumption, plus being cooked on aluminum makes it even MORE unfit for human consumption if it's cooked at temps high enough to get it "crispy". Read up....educate yourself. Your gut and body will appreciate it.
@@four-x-trading5606 KM we both know it isn't "some" haha. 99% of people want their burgers to have a grilled surface. Doubt they want it having the texture of a meatball.
The dangers of cooking with aluminum foil occur when it is heated to high temperatures. The heating process causes aluminum leaching which contaminates food. There are a number of factors that cause leaching of aluminum into food.
100% agree with you on this. Tinfoil would definitely transfer to the food when used like that. I wonder though if the people who posted the video would read these messages.
Oh good grief! Do you live in a bubble??? People have been lining their grills with foil for years and years, outdoor grills long before there were indoor grills. Get a grip!
Well you don't want them pink when done it leads to food poisoning. Pink color of the meat from the viewing if what you mean can be caused by the camera and lighting
this would be good for people who are aged/invalid but truthfully, I can see that this is "time saving" but there is so much waste that is going into landfill! You can wash aluminum foil in the sink with a little dish washing liquid and a sponge and re-use at least a number of times. 2) If you don't want to re use the foil (or it gets to a point where you can't reuse it anymore) you can at least, after washing, scrunch it up in a ball and put it in your recycling bin or take a bag once it's filled to your local scrap metal recycling place (I believe Domestic Aluminum Prices are 0.40-0.55 USA per lb & 0.70-1.10 Australia per kg for Aluminium for anyone watching this from Australia). It's one of the easiest metals to recycle and get cash for. You can do the same with Easter Egg Foils by the way. 3) Tip the fat into a container and find out if you have a recycling facility in your municipality that can take it. Or you could just use the George Foreman Grill and get a sponge or damp cloth and clean it that way if you want "easy clean up" while it's still warm. But otherwise, I think this is a good idea for someone who may be an invalid and can't clean their machine with a sponge or damp cloth, or someone who is really in a hurry.
This would be a pretty good idea. I usually cook with my grill, eat, and then clean my grill 6 days later. So hard to clean. Or I need to get one with removable plates.....
Hey guys, please read up on dangers of cooking with aluminum foil. Aluminum seeps into your food when you cook in it and it has serious health implications.
I bet after the video he went to throw that in the rubbish / garage there was hole in the bag and the grease went all over the the house on the way out 😂
Wow, this is incredible. I only wished that I would have seen this years ago. I didn't know something this Miraculous was even possible. I am going to do this same way tonight. Thanks -- you've changed my life and have we cook.
KnownGaming 100% false sir, especially when you’re 16 and have to cook and clean for yourself. You may not think so but cleaning one of these or the big 144 inch like I have every meal or every other meal sucks after a while
Yeah it depends some people dont mind cleaning after cooking and some detest it like myself lol but slowly im learning to clean right after eating and just get er' donnnnnnneeee!!!
never thought about do this good tip. I bought alluvium deep dish tray for oven put entire grill in let drip fat right into it. have little red one with bun toster. gave tiny fat tray for catch fat. like make sure have big tray for catch lots fat. cook lots burgers at once.
After you use the grill put a wet paper towel and close it. Use a water bottle and spray afterwards.. Enclosing food top and bottom could potentially cause problems overtime. I wouldn't use foil on the drip tray it cleans up in 5 seconds.
I also cover my wife and myself in foil so we don't need to take a shower after cooking. Soo easy. Is a bit odd when we have guests though. They seem to be a bit irritated when I pack them in foil.
this is the expensive and not very environment friendly and the foil can stick on food, just keep the grill moist with warm water while you eat and wipe it clean with paper or sponge
man my George Foreman Grill still hasn't been cleaned since the last time I used it I was so mad and tired of cleaning it every time now I can finally clean it and use for you and not have to worry about cleaning it like that again
