Can’t tell why you treat it like a movie, he b-lines to most of the objective, not really paying attention to things around him. Great gameplay though!
I love the character of Amanda Ripley. A well developed hero. 1:25:33 - She's been chased and hunted and shot at. Seen horrifying violence. Running and screaming through a nightmare. But then has a small moment, even after enduring so much, that she manages to make one small quip that gets an exasperated reply from the Chief of Polic--er, I mean the Marshall. 4:35:01 - Everything Ripley has done up to this point is to escape. To make contact with the Torrens so that she can be rescued. But now the tables have been turned, and the Torrens is the one that needs saving. Tired, beaten, the only one left, survived so much, even captured by the aliens. They need her help, and out of breath she says "Won't let you down." (Obviously she has to save the Torrens to save herself, but still, was just a great hero moment)
Hey, I'm a first timer on your channel... thanks so much for posting the No Commentary version. It's a great option to give the viewers. I have a hard time getting through horror games because of my nerves... got halfway through the game and then I decided it was too much for me. I always felt bad that I left Amanda in there though, wanted to see how she got out. As a talking point: While this game has some obvious flaws, it also has some of the most brilliant moments in gaming that I can recall experiencing in a long time. Having lived through the late 80's and 90's, and always being a fan of Alien since I was a kid, I can tell you that this is the game that the franchise desperately needed from the beginning. Whether they make a sequel or not I will always appreciate what this game brought to the fans. I'll definitely be watching more of your stuff. Cheers.
2:03:07. This part reminds me when I did it on nightmare. Pretty much did the same thing you did except the alien figured out I was in the vent. I knew by the way he hissed. In my head I said if he jump in the vent I'm going to jump out and run. As soon as he jumped in the vent, Ripley said FUCK ( exactly what I was thinking). I jumped out so quick and ran like roadrunner and made it 😂😂
I love how there is japanese translations everywhere, iirc Weiland-Yutani is an american-japanese company, devs really did their homework in this game.
What a brilliant game. The feeling of claustrophobic darkness it makes you feel, the acting, the music. The fact that Sigourney Weaver is a part of it is just phenomenal
Thank you! I’m watching this during quarantine with a bottle of tequila, it’s like watching s movie! Thanks for the link for no commentary that got me here, cheers everyone :)
Some routes you adopted in this run are simply mind blowing! San Cristobal! It took me 2 minutes instead of the 30/40 minutes of my average game play. I follow your steps to get the last two trophies I needed (Survivor and Mercy or Prudence?). Thank you!!!
How the hell is the Alien not down and actively hunting you in the areas. Spent most of the time in the vents while you strolled through the game. I finished the game on hard setting and the alien was always in the areas I was in constantly searching for me and that was me crawling my way through the game. Died so many times haha. Well anyways nice run through dude 😁👌
I think it’s because the director AI points the alien in your direction if you hide. If you hide less the alien will most likely not be able to find you as easily even on nightmare mode.
@@rajlol16 He knows how to play the game very well. You can actually beat this game in 2.5 hours if you speed-run with no glitches it but it’s much more difficult.
Absolutely stellar job on this run. I like to find a good longplay, put it on big screen and just kick back and enjoy it like a movie. It always helps if it's a good runner.
@@CarcinogenSDA absolutely, couldn’t believe some of the luck you had in so,e scenarios or areas of levels. I’ve given up for a sequel along time ago. But I still come back to this every now and again 😄
Ok I’ll ask the question, how in the hell do some people manage to run through san christobel medical without being chased by the alien? 😮I mean I couldn’t even walk it without the alien being on my tail
Mission 5: During the animation (the one where the alien is dropping down from the vents very gracefully,) the alien can not yet see or hear you, so you are safe to run and punch in the code. Once the alien drops down, you can still run if you are far enough away, but the alien will be pointed in your direction because of the director AI so be careful. Carci was kinda lucky in mission 5 because the alien never went down from the vents in that section very much.
Lovely run through. Though the fact that, sense you know where to go and dont need to look around scares me bc i dont know if anythings behind the character. I keep wanting to warn you to look around.
Alien Isolation is the bridge we need between Alien and Aliens. They're never going to make a film adaptation of the game, but this is plenty good enough.
Ain't no way. I just started playing this game 3 days ago watch your upload for help and for the first 2 hours, you been breezing through....but me, as soon as load into my game the alien is standing right there!! 😂 You must have on some special made house slippers cause he here's me on everything I do....I got stuck hiding in a locker for 10 mins because he leaves and reappears immediately like..come on!!
You 🏃♂️ in early 🎮 and then🚶♂️for the rest of it. Crouch only when an encounter is inevitable. It takes me a lot of trial and error. But as long as you're on quiet move the xenomorph will be having a hard time tracking you down.
Personally had a total blast with AI too. Nightmare was definitely the initial way to go although I didn't remember having so much loot for item crafting!
Since I've never played the game I need to ask... Are those space suits the original ones or some skin they have? Feels like I'm watching Alien mixed with Warhammer 40k.
Had to stop with one hour so missing, and I gotta say, this feels very soothing and plays very much like a movie. Which is nice, I haven't watched a good Alien movie since forever. Thx for this version Carci.
I beat this game on Nightmare a while back, and I can understand beating it without dying, but to take 0 damage? How did you pull that off? And do the scripted cutscenes not count?
Love how everyone knows the alien is picking them off one by one. So they all split up instead of working together, to make it easier for the alien to pick them off one by one.
Think of it this way, they can't do anything to kill it so the best they can do is make sure that if it finds one of them, they are the ONLY one that dies. If they stayed in a group then they would all die as soon as it finds them.
4:13:04 I just don't get it. When I did this part (on Hard), the Alien could very obviously see through the obstacles. It would see me, no matter what I did, even if I didn't have line of sight on it. In fact, much of the time, I wouldn't see it at all until it suddenly appeared next to me. It was only because of multiple molotovs and pipe bombs that I made it through this. But you're sitting in plain sight, it looks straight at you, and it somehow doesn't see you?! What the hell?
because “no damage” means i didn’t take any hits from anything non mandatory. there’s several cutscenes where you’re forced to take mandatory damage along the way.
