Watch it again and look at the variety of locations the shots land on the table. It was very passive play, but there's a lot more going on than two people just pushing it back and forth.
Because they are both choppers. They are types of people where they make heavy backspins, and so the one who will have to do a upward stroke must have strong forward spin to neutralize the backspin. Choppers tend to practice chopping the ball, usually more than driving the ball, so the person who has to lift the ball up will be in a disadvantage. So they were both trying to slice/push/knuckle the ball to generated enough backspin to make them have to drive the ball. But i agree it was boring, thats why chopper vs chopper sucks, but it was impressive how they had maintained their focus on trying to play what they have been practicing.

I think you misread what he was trying to say. He's saying that Chinese women's table tennis is better and that the two women in this video are too conservative in their play style.
Those who understand nothing to table tennis keep your comments to yourselves. The girl on the right obviously has long pimples which makes her balls extremely hard to attack. If the girl on the left has attacked more than once she would get all her spin back in her face. Almost 200 exchanges at any level is insane. It takes so much concentration and control. I was impressed although this is not the most exciting to watch I would give you that.
+Venceslas JOACHIM If the girl on the right has long pimples and pushes the push... the next ball would be top spin.. pretty easy to attack. Not sure if this was just a "for show" point or what.
I know I would be getting hate comments for this but this is something every table tennis player does during warm up.. If it were a continuous chop block to a barrage of top spin it would be worth mentioning... The no means nothing...
and in basketball, football, and soccer people stall to end the game on their point by running the clock on a timeout or something like that. At least here the game actually keeps playing on..
+Tabitha Booth I guess watching the guys play then this, would be the main reason and I'm not saying the 2 ladies aren't good but this just looks like practice to me.
I'm pretty sure only the right one is a chopper. I think the left one is just inexperienced in playing against backspin and therefore tries to push until she gets a weak return that she can actually attack.
Are those girls pros ? I'm praticing Tennis Table for 7 years now ( I play 1 or 2 times a week, sometimes more when holidays ) and I think i'm better than those two girls....
Jason Bohnicsek it looks like its very easy, especially if you are watching woman table tennis, but you can be sure that you wouldnt get a point against these two, except you are a very good player like 2000 TTR points or something. The spin is unreal and the balls are faster than you would think :)
