If you're not playing as Woodie, note that other characters may take a bit longer since there's no way to lure all the monkeys at once. In this case, place one item in your inventory and lure the monkeys one by one. Lure each monkey to the bait zone by picking up the item as soon as the monkey attacks you.
This method should be carried out during the day and evening, as monkeys sleep at night. Be cautious when opening and closing the gate, as being too close to the gate can result in the player falling into the ocean.
