Ooooh, i love this. I have a birch tree in the middle of my field that has been extensively photographed over the 37 years, from a sapling to the magnificent tree that it now is. I'll be painting it now using this technique. Thank you Karen 😊

Just after the tape is removed, it created cool surrealistic look to the painting. Like souls of trees that are made of pure light😇

Karen my two best paintings are the ones you did tutorials for this one and another silver birch tree ensemble , I am surrounded by silver birch and a lovely woodland and I must say when you give Instructions along with your painting its fabulous and I seem to do a much better painting thank you ❤

what a fabulous idea with the strips of tape. I cannot seem to paint a realistic tree. Mine always come out straight, uniformed, or have odd bumps on the side to overworking it to make it not so uniformed. This ripped tape idea is exactly what I need to make trees I want and feel successful. I'm definitely trying this technique. This painting is just beautiful. Thanks for the tutorial and tips.

@@KarenRiceArt Agree, I'm starting with simpler watercolors. I'm a great sketch and pencil artist but watercolor has always been a challenge even in art school even though I can detail a portrait as a pro in pen & ink or colored pencils. I shall press on. . . . . thank-you
