Funnily enough, i was an extra on this movie. Was filmed around lake Tinaroo in far north Queensland. Was a great experience.

Just found out Ray Liotta died, and this was the movie that came to mind. Agree with you, completely overlooked but hella memorable. Shame it'll remain in obscurity. R.I.P. Ray

I love ' Control ' I really believe he did his best in that movie & many raw emotions came out from his own life experiences. His emotions were so real in the movie !!! My favourite !!💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

Same here. I saw it when it was in theaters. No Escape was also one of my 'go to' movies at the video rental place when I couldn't find anything new that I was interested in. I must have rented it a dozen times. I had no idea that it had fallen into such obscurity.

The whistle the rocket launcher makes when its powering up or whatever always made that part stand out. He shouts, cocks the thing and it starts whistling and everyone gets real quiet.

It is released on blu ray. Just kind of tough to find. I have it and the blu ray looks pretty nice! Way better than the DVD release that's basically a VHS transfer

Saw this back in the 1994 and I liked it. In Australia where I live this is called Escape from Absolom.

This movie made such an impact on me as a child! I thought i had the title wrong cuz I couldn't find it anywhere.. If i won the lottery I'd try and give this film its due.. The performances are so perfect it deserves to be seen..

It still blows my mind that Martin Campbell managed to relaunch Bond twice in two completely different and both perfect ways for the time yet completely dropped the ball with Green Lantern which should've been a no brainer for someone with that kind of control of his craft.

Saw this in the theater. It was awesome! Everyone gives great performances, and the action is sick! I was recently thinking about buying it on DVD, too bad to hear its so tough to find.

I definitely wouldnt consider it a "B" movie. Expert casting, large budget, filmed on location etc. This has great production value, too much to be recognized as a "B" film.

There is a blu-ray available in Australia that is REGION free, meaning it'll play anywhere. The price is fairly cheap too.

This was filmed in Queensland, Australia. A friend of mines dad was an extra on it. He always said how friendly Ray Liotta was when he met him and how the director made everything run so smoothly.... atleast from what he saw being on set

I've seen this in a theater. Most memorable scene was Merrick asserting his gang leadership: "I have removed all the heads of state." [Thump thump] "I really want to be in charge!"

In Australia, where it was filmed, it was called Escape From Absolom. Hell, the red haired bad guy side kick was a roommate to one of my sisters friends. Anyway, the point is, maybe if you want to find a copy of the film look for it under other titles.

No Escape is one of my favorite movies. Great movie. I first watched it in 1997 when I was 13. Ray Liotta gave a good performance and his acting in the movie was good especially in the scenes when his character Robbins whom obviously suffers from PTSD cries when he has flashbacks of the people he killed as a soldier. Good supporting cast. Stuart Wilson gave a fun performance as Walter Marek. Good filming location for Absolom. The film still holds up today. One of the best movies I've ever watched.

Rip Ray Liotta. I loved this movie as a kid. As mentioned it was on tv a lot. I remember watching it several times. I was too young for Goodfellas, so this is where I became a fan of Liotta. I never realized it fell into obscurity. Going to have to find it now, ship ahoy.

This was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. I REALLY liked the antagonist. He was smart, capable, and overtly brutal. He could go between extremely civilized and extremely feral and savage at the drop of a hat. I thought that was far more intimidating than any other movie villain I had seen around that time. You never knew what he was going to do, but you were entertained by that unpredictability, and his impeccable dark comedy timing.

Loved this movie. Had it on my wish list and my wife tried to get it for me but I did not put the year down so she got me a 1953 movie with the same title. Godsmack's 1st CD used an audio sample from the film and I made a little flick with my brother on VHS and cut the bridge explosion scene into our film. Great movie. Enjoyed your video. I had the UK Guild home video VHS (think It might be in my parents attic with all the others). loved it. I like how the cover had ALIENS and TERMINATOR stand out on the title and the face look a bit like Schwarzenegger from the Total Recall poster. videocollector.co.uk/no-escape/29565

I saw this film at a movie theater that also sold food and drinks. I had just taken a bite of my sub, when the scene with RL and the gladiator fight came on. Damn near choked by laughing so hard!

I was a teenager in the 90s and watched hundreds of movies back then and No Escape was never obscure for me because it was one of the millions of trailers I would always see play before the countless vhs tapes I rented from the video store and yeah, many of them were artsy movies from the lesser production companies so No Escape was one of those movies for sure.

I remember liking this movie as a kid, but I remember absolutely nothing about it and probably never would have thought about it again had I not seen this. Weird how something you haven't thought about in so long and probably never would have again is still right there in your memory. Edit I love Fortress as well but I remember that movie well.

I thought about this movie awhile back when I saw Unlawfully Entry on Cinemax. I saw it as a teen and I really liked it . I haven’t seen it in probably 20 years . It’s took bad it’s overlooked or forgotten for various reasons. This was prime Ray Liotta !

Ray L.'s character is a recon marine. He's dropped on the island after taking the warden hostage. The island is an illegal experiment run by the warden unknown to authorities. The group in the village is not "nonviolent" they're just trying to live their lives. This dude missed the bus on this one. (oh, and it's based on a 1987 novel called "The Penal Colony" by Richard Herley)

I remember this movie, it was awesome. Here in Australia it was called Escape from Absolom, and or was filmed (at least the island prison sections were) near where I lived in Far North Queensland.
