17:15 (Shen side): the inputs do work, we can clearly see the cursor over Potion just before he throws a ball. It may be an oversight in the rom itself.

17:40 yep. Only the first rage needs to hit. Then it's locked. I thought shen knew and i was wondering why he didn't just use that. Turns out i knew _one_ thing he didn't, i feel like a pokemon professor now.

Are you sure this also applies to the AI? Remember the AI can cheat (infinite PPs, healing full-HP Pokémon, picking a move after you chose yours, etc.). Maybe it works differently for it than for the player.

just search "no exp race" on youtube. these two have been doing it for more than a year. crystal ones are actually cool.

@@carlosmarte428 they did no exp races that go all the way in gen 1 too. I remember one where chris went for moltres and shen went for zapdos. It was neck to neck till then.
