Yes! Finally! Something we Americans have better than y'all! Haha! We may have the shittiest measurement system but we have free refills! Lmao, I didn't realize people were still commenting in this. Btw, I was joking about that being good. It's a pretty shittu thing.
@Dev King as an american, the systems are not that great. the food is so much more healthy in other countries, im not talking about fast food or portions of food im talking about the processed foods in stores. healthcare is free for EVERYONE in so many countries, and it's not in america. there's so many people that hate others because of their fucking political views, do you realize how horrible that is? to hate someone because of who they wanted to be president? it's not like that in other places. i would rather be in canada that america, but all my family lives here so im stuck here
As someone not in the US, "why would people pay for a refill" "Well because you're taking more of the product, so you pay for it" it's standard for the rest of the world
Pretty sure everyone does that. Actually I work at Chipotle and one time I had a guy ask if we had a bigger water cup. Was just like why, so you could get more free soda?
One time on a school choir trip we stopped at McDonalds after the auditions (it was for honor choir) and I filled up the water bottle I brought with soda lmao
I used to do it all the time I even got into it a McDonald’s manager cause I bought a shake, and when I was done rinsed out the cup and was filling it w soda and he made me dump it out
@@DaBro1102 lol, I do that all the time at Whataburger. I'll get a large Dr. Pepper shake and when I drink it all I'll refill it with regular Dr. Pepper.
I feel the same way. Especially since as a kid, it was my parents who did it first then told me to do the same because we didn't have enough money to pay for the soda. It was only until I was 8 to 14/15? because my parents were going through a rough patch in jobs, insurance and cars. (I cannot remember, but I do remember food stamps.) It took awhile to grow out of the habit but after my parents made it clear it isn't a good thing to do, and that you're not paying for the soda and we only did that cause we were struggling well man... I stopped using the free water cup for soda. And felt horrible for those years of not paying that I now tip every restaurant I go to the price of a small soda.
Milad: “If you fill up your water cup with soda then you’re the bottom of the barrel” Me: begins to feel horrible about my 9 year old self filling up the water cup with soda at the local Chuck E Cheese
@@yttrv8430 I just think whoever is losing from my criminal activity isn't really losing much. Having said that, I don't remember the last time I did it. I'm not that broke anymore and can afford meals that include a fountain drink already instead of ordering value menu items and a cup of water.
Charles E Cheese doesn't judge the young, because he knows what it felt like to be an orphan and not have a birthday party. (part of the official lore from CEC Entertainment)
I get small ones when i am at a restaraunt. It means i have to get up a few more times but ensures i get the most carbonated soda. Tbf i rarely eat out and when i do its like McDonald's so it doesnt matter. It's all the same price.
The thing is, refills are culturally normal here... so it's wrong to not do it. Plus, considering how large the mark up is for them, there is very little loss for a refill anyways.
Thank you, you have inspired me I know this sounds like I’m being sarcastic but I’m being serious I’m 15 and was kinda in a bad place in my life but I stumbled across your videos and so I started watching more and you have changed that way I feel and I just want to think you and you made me consider getting a job at my local subway so once again thank you I know you probably won’t see this but know that I’m thankful.
I've had people, usually teens, come in and ask for a cup for water and somehow I just knew their real intentions. So I would give them a cup and tell them to get whatever they want. I told them none of us care so enjoy a soft drink on the house. Not only did it save them the trouble of trying to be inconspicuous, but some of them would end up buying food they didn't intend to buy too.
This one time my brother wanted to get a milkshake at America (we were going there for holiday) and when we got the milkshake, it was like MASSIVE and there was another random cup around the same size. When we asked the worker if it was an accident they said ‘No, that’s the refill.’ please you do not understand how much my brother had to drink, I’m pretty sure I helped him out but WOW.
as a subway frequenter from the UK, watching you put more salami on that sandwich than the entire subway meat allowance for the whole BMT, was eye-opening. We getting ripped off over here
As a Moroccan, I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Europe and found out that refills are free. In my country, soda machines are behind the employees and they are in charge of the filling.
Back in the early 90s even over here in the USA I remember there being some places where the soda machines were behind the counter for the employees to use. Then later on they moved to having the customer do it themselves to free up the employees to do other work.
Subway is my favourite! Hope all is well with you and your loved ones milad! Wishing you and everyone lots of love, light, happiness, safety, good health and mental health 🙏💙❤💚
@@fracturedzone7225 Still, just a single lost customer isn't really that big of a deal. How many people actually eat at Subway all that often, like it's a nice thing every now and then but like if you have a noticeable negative impact on a specific Subway if you stop eating there, you might be eating there too often.
Favourite RU-vid Channel right now. I’m a 36 year old, not working in a restaurant anymore, but had some of the best times of my life there and made life long best friends.
This subway completely changed my life. A few months ago I lost my job, house and kids. I was homeless and I lived outside of this subway. I lived outside this store for a few months and one day a nice, young man came outside and gave me a free cookie. Everyday since then he has given me something and it progressively got better. He started giving subs and a few dollars. This continued for weeks with just subs then one day he donated 100$. From that day he has given me mansions, cars, and millions of dollars. I will never forget you milarg mird. -Homeless man infront of your subway.
you are paying for the convenance. Subway subs are overpriced vs making it yourself. You can choose to not buy their drinks and eventually they will just lower their price.
I think the concept of this free refill thing is amazing. Here in Germany (where I live) there is only BurgerKing doing this and only a very few of them not all. Greetings from a German fan
Where I am from, and I am talking about 10 years ago maybe even more, we used to get one free refill in Subway in my local town. That Subway only lasted maybe a year before it closed. Now any Subway I go to the drinks machines are behind the counter and they fill your drink and hand it to you with your sandwich. No refills.
Refills are an American thing in the UK this is not general practice there may be rare exceptions if for example it is an American franchise but under our sugar tax laws additional charges are made to the business for full sugar drinks such as Coca Cola, Fanta, sprite. So it makes even less financial sense for them to absorb the costs.
Honestly I've poured soda in a water cup before. My parents couldn't always afford to purchase us a soda or juice with our meals and as a kid who wants to drink water? But now I'm older with my own $$$$ and I don't do that. But honestly people do what they can to get by and buy what they can afford
Hey milad, i love your vids man, would you mind answering this question ive had for a while?, why when subway workers go to cut the bread in half for a 6 inch sub they always cut it uneaven?
That looks like a lot of pepperoni and salami you put on that sandwich! I never get that much on mine. Was that a special order? Did the customer ask for extra meat... or is that how much we are supposed to be getting?
Tip: Though you might have to go a little out of the way, check local gas stations for drinks if you are getting to-go food. In general it's usually half the price of what a chain restaurant will charge. At least where I live that is.
I'm from Dubai and didn't ate subway from more than 3 years but watching you make me start eating it again and trying the items you doing.... subway should hire you in marketing
As a European refilling cups is RIDICULOUS!! First of all American cups are simply way bigger throughout literally all sizes - small to large - each individual size is much bigger than ANY European. But i guess it is fine since Americans have private health insurance so you have to pay your own bill when the sugar reaper is gonna take your soul.
I’ve been watching your videos for a while. I craved a subway sandwich and I went to subway. I live in Turkey now. When I was living in KSA subway was so amazing there. But here in turkey, subway here is not generous at all. Although they have the rectangular scoop for the meats, they put the meat with it on a scale. The bread is very thin when cut into half. It is like eating a wrap sandwich not a baguette. Even if you want an extra sachet of mayo you should pay. And according to the people living here it is very expensive. You can eat three large sandwiches with a foot long sandwich price. Here, Sandwich shops or as they call Buffe is something related to the culture. Their wedges carton is only half filled. No wonder they don’t have alot of branches here. The only thing good was the cookies.
