The Vega does look sharp, but sometimes they turned to junk within a few years. My dad had a 74 and it was ready for the junkyard in 78. It rusted quite a bit, but what really did it in was the aluminum cylinder block Chevy made without steel liners. His motor wore out so bad it could not climb a 10% grade hill.

It is a comedy sketch and as such can be stretched to a certain point. That is a part of the genre! For the time this sketch is great! Think of it, the age of full service gas stations is on its way out. The pump your own at the local convenient mart was on the upswing. A comedic parody of the full service versus self service fill up. Almost painful! Tim and Harvey are just great!! By the way I posted this as a reply in some ones earlier post.

Craig Downey my grandpa had a Bug when I was a kid. I remember him asking a gas station attendant to check the oil and the attendant walking to the front of the car.

Boy I haven't seen a Vega in ages. Such a great show, nothing compares to the comedic genius of this show and it's actors.

Back when comedy was actually funny! Not inappropriate, not over the top and crazy just good fun comedy.
