"Dance Moms" follows Abby Lee Miller and the nation's favorite tween dancers as they take on Hollywood while new auditions, new competitions, and new studios raise the stakes.
The road has not been easy for “Dance Mom’s” star Abby Lee Miller. After completing her prison sentence last year, the famed dance instructor was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. But if anything, Abby has proven she is a fighter and is not ready to hang up the dance shoes. The new season of Dance Moms follows Abby as she rebuilds her dance company while battling the after-effects of cancer that has left her confined to a wheelchair. Abby is ready to get back to her life and do what she loves most…teaching students to dance! With the goal of putting her life, health and dance studio back together, Abby returns to where it all began - the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh.

Abby seen Chloes talent, but because she couldnt control Chloe and Christi she tried as hard as she could to downplay Chloes success, then started giving her worse choreo, and shes admitted that she said whatever and did whatever she wanted to them because they couldnt leave the show. It wasnt that she didnt have faith in Chloe, she hated Chloe. She couldnt control Chloe.

And she really wasn't / isn't bratty, the show made it seem like that, but it IS heavily edited, also all her fellow cast members has said, it was edited to make Maddie seem brat and that Maddie was really nice and hard working dancer and their FRIEND.

@@kellymcquay2626 That’s honestly how I used to see it and feel it and get SO frustrated. But looking back now, the pressure of wanting to please Abby and being absolutely terrified to disappoint her in anyway and ending up on Abbys bad side. Is still stressful. It’s a different stress than what the other girls had to go through but still stress all the same. Maddie and Abby did have a great relationship but the cracks behind that relationship are not nice. No kid should have to feel the amount of anxiety to mess up that Maddie felt on the show, if you watch Maddie is constantly cracking her knuckles, playing with her hands and hair, and she cried a lot too just as much as Kendall, Paige, etc. No child on that show should be so fearful of making a mistakes because of one teacher made them afraid to mess up, there is no such thing as perfection but you can always try your best. Abby never taught this which is why the girls were so anxious all the time. I honestly feel like it’s about perception.

Ikr. I feel like if you fall when you skate you’re gonna be fine. I go skating all the time and always fall. It’s just a scrape on the knee, or sometimes nothing. I wanna be on live TV and stuff I wouldn’t have a childhood (not that I’d be on TV anyways) your life is taken away by fame, hate, and the internet. It’s honestly so sad how a dance school impacted there lives.

I think she was being responsible tho. Skating 2 days before a competition is just stupid. I mean the kid trained hard for that dance, what if an accident happened? She wont be able to dance for that competition and her hard work will be wasted. If i were the kid i would understand. Asia is mature for her age, she understands.

I’m so glad Chloe got to go on her camping trip! Kids need to be kids sometimes. She gets left out enough at dance without having to be left out at school too. Obviously it did her the world of good... right call

It really frustrates me how when Maddie doesn't want to do something, or something happens so she can't do something, the moms automatically blame it on the fact that "Maddie isn't the best at it, so she doesn't want to do it!". Like no, maybe she just doesn't want to do it. For example, the ice skating. It wasn't because she wasn't the best at it, It was because she was terrified of Abby and was emotionally abused by her. She thought that If she went ice skating, Abby would not like her anymore and would hate her. It just makes me feel sad how this show affected the kids lives', in such a negative way.

It really is sad and I’m not 100% sure but I believe Melissa pushed Maddie to ice skate even tho she didn’t want to. I feel bad for Maddie because it always seemed like she was pushed to do stuff or put up to such a high expectation. May seem like a strange um comparison but it kinda seems like she was treated like a doll in a way or at least to me

I think they’re jealous sometimes, I have to add, that their child isn’t Maddie because of the special parts and favouritism she receives from Abby. They sometimes are jealous of her, maybe because they don’t have the advantages that she has had but I think mostly the producers wanted to make it seem that way, as most of us in the fandom or who watch Dance Moms know that they cut and edit things in or out to make the parents/children/Abby look bad.

Maddie was a perfectionist. Perfectionists generally go to great extents to 'not fail' because they are driven by the need to be perfect at everything 100% of the time. So what the mothers said wasn't wrong. Maddie was pushed into thinking that anything less than perfection was horribly wrong by Abby and her mother. It's wrong for a child to feel that way

Abby gets mad at the girls for ice skating but is completely fine with them going swimming when both of those are physical activities that both can result in an injury? Even worse they were playing a game in the pool where you have to be rough leaving them even more likely to get hurt. Then when Maddie gets out and starts crying because she hurt her knee Abby just laughs and ignores it. Wtf? 😂

I understand being concerned about the kids getting hurt before competition. It's the same as when I played softball, we weren't allowed to swim before a game because of how tired it would make us. However, from what I understand, these girls hardly ever got to be kids, and that's wrong. Maddie was so afraid of breaking Abby's rules and having Abby be mad at her that she cried and didn't want to have fun anymore. When kids are afraid to be kids because of you, that's pretty terrible.
