@@harrypender8886 it would seem this is actually the second version (Galilee Baptist Choir seems to be 1rst), and 3rd was the studio version (?) from GMWA, I think like, 20th or 25th anniversary..
As a child I use to wonder why those ladies were screaming and hollering. As a 40 year old mother of two I now understand. They were just happy to make it through the week. Thank you Jesus!!
I'm so very proud to say I was on this recording when it was recorded in Detroit, MI 1987 with the GA Mass Choir of America. I might be biased, but this by far is the best version EVER!! The soloist (cant remember her name but was the most genuine sweet person) is absolutely phenomenal!
Tonya Rodgers I agree with you. This is my favorite version because the sista minister when she sang. Takes you right to church, when she sang, she gives you All Word. She goes in, take you right back through the Bible. She said there’s victory or death and victory over the grave. She ministers to the end of the song, after belching Jesus over and over, she goes in for the kill one last time saying, my savior, your savior, for you, for me He⚰️
I love this version, it makes me cry, every time! She is a true song bird. He is more than Jesus Christ, Jesus! No one would die for the sins of the world but Jesus!
This is such a beautiful song. Every Easter my mind takes me back to it & the first time I listen to it as a teenager & the sermons I listen to growing up as a child on Sunday mornings of the great sacrifice Christ made for us all. There truly is no greater love.
Still Anointed!!! This song has been singing in my Spirit for during the midnight as my soul communes with LORD! How awesome Our LOrD, Sweet Jesus truly is!
This song is so wonderful. I heard other versions but this is the one I remember as a young child. It's on point. Thank you Lord for all you have done for me . Amen.
Not sure why, but I woke up this morning 02/06/14 with this song on my heart. Thank you God for giving your only Son, and Thank You Jesus for your Life and your blood.
This song will always be dear to me heart. It remind of the day when I got fill with the holy ghost at a UPCI tent revival meeting at the age of 7.The choir was singing this song when God filled me. I remember that big white tent there was alot of children and young people both black and white standing on that make shift stage that night.
Thus song came to mind on Valentines Day, I was reminded that while people, especially our singles are looking for someone to notice them, or treat them special or send them flowers. If we could see the Love that God in Christ has for us, we would realize that there is No Greater Love. John 3:16. I have not found any. Hallelujah!!! Glory To The Living God🙌🙌🙌🙌
Wow!! I thought I like the Fred Hammond version....but my God. I love this version so much more!! Why I never head this version!! I can see a Baptist church singing this!!
NSU Gospel Choir and the Baptist Student Union at the HBCUs.....boy what a time we had! Rodger and Prairie View and who can forget Miss BSU herself, the sweetly saved Yolanda Adams.
Happy Takeback Tuesday Followers !! This week's song is powerful!!!! It takes me back to my Grambling days at Upon This Rock Outreach Center, when I got saved, wow, wow! Anyway this song has several versions, but in my opinion, this one minister, it goes off for Jesus. My best friend use to love this song in college. The lady just pour out as she sang bout Jesus giving His life. She dont even realize that she preaching!!!!She actually walks you through Jesus being spat on, beat, and all the way to Him being up on the cross saying Father Forgive Them. She go in talking about victory over death and the grave!! Glory, then at the end she just wail on the Mighty Name Of JESUS!! THAT'S LOVE,the beating, the stripes on His back, the crown of torns, they PUT HOLES IN HIS HAND AND FEET, THE BLOOD CAME STREAMING DOWN HIS FACE!!!!!! AND HE STILL LIVES, THREE DAYS LATER HE ROSE YALL!!! THERE'S AN EMPTY GRAVE TO PROVE HE LIVES Hallelujah!!! Somebody holla back and give Jesus a Holy Shout Out!!!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9-L6c0DVdq8.html
In 2020, when I play this song, my 8 year old daughter asks me if this is "Effie" singing?....too cute. She's thinking its Jennifer Hudson from Dreamgirls.
tmuffin082 You're welcome. when you get a chance (if you have not already) check out the version done earlier in 1986 by Galilee Baptist Church Mass Choir. That album features John P. Kee. I posted that version on 10/1/2001.
+Gospel Nostalgia , is it true that back in the mid-80s, the Georgia Mass Choir also recorded a version of this? I know several choirs back then, so was just wondering.
I was the same way...ive searched different versions...but this is it Thanks for posting this AND the Mattie Moss Clark songs with Twinkie...I LOVE THEM ALL!
Not the original. Song written by David Allen and first performed by The Galilee Baptist Church Mass Choir out of Houston, TX. GMWA did a great job with this version. They did this song again for their 25th Anniversary Album and it was sung by a male. However, they left out the most powerful verse, “3 days later He rose again”. The version here is my favorite!!!!!
@@edgarnorwood15 I saw a post that said Ambassadors for Christ Choir out of Winston-Salem, NC were the first ones who recorded this. Not the Galilee church.
Man, I am soo grateful for your ministry on here! So many classics that I had at some point in the past but lost throughout the years in one way or another. You can't get the songs you post on iTunes, EBay, or anywhere else! Thank you again bruh!
God bless you Gospel Nostalgia!!! On this Valentine’s Day 2022 I’m feeling grateful for the source. Praise God for the greatest sacrifice ever!!! This is my favorite version of this song. Could you tell us who lead vocalist is?
