An afternoon tuning my old DX-440 on the 40 M ham band, and musing about the shuttering of "Two Hands and a Radio," and about the radio hobby on RU-vid.
Thanks for the video. I have this radio in its Sangean ATS-803A form but it developed a tuner problem. Two Hands wasn't the first radio video creator to struggle with RU-vid regulations, negative feedback, or a lack of time and money. I think it's fine just to post occasional videos as you do. So do Joe LaLumia, Radio Ham Guy, Radio Hobbyist, Radio Workshop, Sparkyzilla85, SpectreOZ, and VWestlife, and it seems to work for them.
I purchased that radio in 1989 new and still have and use it. It's a great radio thanks for the review. I think TH was worried that the old video's would cause him a liability but that's just a guess. I like your old school RU-vid attitude and so I just subscribed. Thanks and Happy New Year 😎👍📻

Two hands had a great channel. Like you said, its too bad he deleted his excellent body of work. Great to see you here with a classic 440! Happy New Year!
@@BrekMartin or...he dug such a financial hole trying to entertain said critics that he thought it wasn't worth keeping. Actually several reasons and none of which are due to the thickness of my a$$ skin but I digress. Careful making assumptions about people you don't know.
@@twohandsandaradio There isn’t an obvious reason in there to delete all evidence. That would take something going on in your head that deleting existing videos was thought to fix.. or reframed in your mind that it sends a message or what have you. Nevertheless I did enjoy some of them.
RU-vid is not the only platform..He can move his channel to new ones without under RU-vid’s scrutiny and political rules. Need to build up multiple platforms for wider distribution and not be handicapped by big techs. Also savaging working and appreciating old radios is better. How best to enjoy what we have is better than chasing rainbows and sharing the joy 🤩 will be beneficial.

I remember when Two hands and a radio left RU-vid. It kind of felt, like another nail in the coffin of the previous decade. I would have never guessed what the new year was bringing. I hope everyone is doing alright. Anyone heard from Two hands and a radio?
I used to watch Two Hands. My opinion: you need to have advertising and please the advertisers and need to be internet savvy to even break even. I had a Sangean ATS 803 that I bought back in the 80`s. It quit on me about 5 years ago. Fine rig for it`s day. Radio Shack put their brand on it and ran with it. The chuff ing got worse as it got older.
