In this video I'm going to propose the first part of a tutorial, which is dedicated to a very important aspect for all who deal with Hi-Fi: how to avoid noise and hum.
In this first video of the series we'll see where hum typically comes from: we'll analyze the different power sources within a tube amplifier, which can radiate AC currents; those could be picked up and heard as hum. Furthermore, topics like ground loop will be introduced and covered.
This is a very important foundation, which will help understand how to minimize / eliminate hum from our Hi-Fi projects; this will be subject of next video also.
