He is obliged to give his name and number and if you request it, his designation card, by refusing it he is also breaking the law and his code of ethics.
He isn't, just his number and the station where he operates out of (not his name). You can ask to see his Designation Card too - it's person specific so it will have his name on it.
Filming kids isnt illegal. In the manual of my new camera, there is a whole section about filming children. What is illegal is taking indecent images of children, and that is hardly going to happen in a public. That’s why photography isnt banned at flamingo land etc I would be worrying about the mall cop, who’s first thought was about children-he needs a proper back ground check. The pcso isnt acting lawfully, needs to show three forms of id and designation card.
regardless of what any mall-security bod says - many psychologists expect to find a disproportionate number of child-molesters in this line of work as it is in the very nature of a paedophile that they are drawn to any situation where they can have power and authority over other people.. in this instance this mall-cop seems to be going down the "there are children present" road cos - that is the most dramatic and serious sounding excuse to assert his flimsy authority in this situation..
When somebody mentions “filming children” ask them to repeat it “once more for the camera and your solicitor” they shit a brick and start back tracking.....
There's actually no laws against filming children in public, unless it's for the production of indecent material. Therefore, whilst filming children in public is lawful, it's exceedingly inadvisable.
Sometimes it just needs a panoramic sweep of a child in a shot to set off the knuckle dragger brigade.How do parents deal with their child being in someone else's shot at a school play or sports day? It must send them to the nearest psychiatrist.🙄

If photographers are just left alone, they promote what they're filming in a positive light. If I ran a stall within the shopping centre I'd welcome the publicity.
I would say the purpose of filming is to have an independent witness that does not lie, unlike people who speak a right load of tripe in their attempts to do harm to people simply because they think their job title gives them some sort of authority over other members of the public. Show me a thousand people in authority and I will show you nine hundred and ninety nine arseholes!
Pcso MUST state THEIR NAME , THEIR SERVICE or COLLAR NUMBER and THE STATION THEYRE BASED AT and when required THEIR DESIGNATION CARD which MUST be IN DATE SIGNED and CLEARLY READABLE
They can't caution anyone. They are not police officers. A real officer must be called. Their Designation Card details their powers which are extremely limited. They can't even detain you.

Police policy states that police id themselves, when asked by a member of the public. I think that PCSO should learn his duty and law. Thank goodness he is not a proper police officer, or the public will be in trouble.
Sack him before he ever tries to become a corrupt cop. If he's doing that now then just think what sort of crimes he will commit if he gets a real uniform.
Why wont they Id properly to the public , they should sack everyone of these officers we see on social media that are breaking there own policy . The procedure is there for a reason especially after the fellow officer Mr Couzens. The type of officers out there nowadays is disgraceful , rude lying, abusive, threatening and violent , were is the public service when they cant even bring themselves to give you there names.
The very fact that Craig would bring up about the children present speaks more about his mindset, than it does the actions of the chap behind the camera. I suspect that Craig has some skeletons in his closet.
junior school level of education required as entry requirements, 6 weeks training, 6 weeks on the job support & hey presto, you're a pcso with a salary that is comparable to a nurse whose application for nurse training required A level education, then 3 years at university level to qualify as a registered nurse.
@@ynwa3476 Uber drivers can earn more, yes....if they put hours in but there outgoings are very high. My point is that PCSO's entry criteria is very low, requiring minimal numeracy & literacy skills, minimal training & imo, do not possess the knowledge, understanding or awareness to perform their role & yet, they are salaried from the public purse, just like nurses.
@@dyschromotopia PCSO's are easy targets. I understand what you are saying but in the grand scheme of things they are still low paid workers. There are thousands of public workers who sit in warm offices earning massive salaries ! However i do agree the entry requirements should be higher and the training much longer.

They are easy targets because of their actions, which are often inappropriate & outside of their remit & this is because they are not adequately trained or sufficiently knowledgeable......they are not adequately trained to carry out their role safely & competently.

He should also know that if asked to do so he should identify himself, for example "i am PCSO Smith from such and such police station" he should also produce his Police staff ID (which will show his name) and his designation card of powers etc. Pleasure talking to you sir.

you missed his designation card this he has to produce if he has not got it with him he has no authority without it he is just a citizen impersonating a PCSO
It seems to me people film like this to prove a point and cause agro. He is obliged to give his collar number, You however don't have a collar number so your name is what is required.
First port of call should be designation card to prove he is actually designated with ANY powers from the chief constable. Once he provides that you point out that he has to tell you his name collar number and which station he is attached upon request by any member of the general public as per his training and oh yeah that pesky thing called the LAW. The joy is you can approach anybody from the local police force and request their designation card with name collar number and station / warrant card with name collar number and station / police staff ID card name and station. It is in all police code of practice to give this information as it is required by letter of law. Then under the freedom of information request you can get their salary, discipline record and all traing they have passed and/or failed!!!
3 forms of relevant ID, PCSO'S uniform is not 1, number is 1, ID card is another, I'll let this PCSO to recover his 3rd option, although there are 4 options.
Filming children is not illegal, indecent pictures or filming of children is , a hideous crime ,the guilty people caught should have mandatory castration .
Filming the lock down closed shops etc how the situation has impacted shops cafes etc is not an arrest issue, if he was out side the gates of s school then maybe the kids filming issue but in a mall in public or train station or football match is not filming kids as implied.
This guy is just a windup. Filming to make attention. This isnt helping or making any changes. Hes just doing this to get police attention for clout.so he can say he had an argument with a copper. Good for you, you no your rights. You want to be about the change. Then train ppl on what their rights are, without going around looking for trouble.
