No Idea What Was About To Hatch | Wild Egg Rescue from birth to release

A rare bunch of wild eggs belonged to a bird species I had never raised before. I decided to film her growth every day - on a neutral background so as to see her development in detail. This was an amazing journey from the wild egg rescue up until her release into the wild again.
04:55 Day to Day Growth Timelapse
*Kind reminder: Never, ever take eggs from a birds nest. Doing so would be a violation of nature and mostly cause a lot of sadness… and it’s against the law for a very good reason. The falconer (from the beginning of the video) is actually one of the only people licensed to do this, and only does in very unique circumstances.
If you do find an egg however somewhere out of place, you can try look for a nearby professional hatcher, or, if you happen to live in the Netherlands, you can now sent me the egg. Visit www.eigevonden.nl (website is in Dutch) for more info.

I've nursed a few birds back to health & it's so rewarding when you see them fly off, but at the same time you've developed a bond with them! So it's quite heart wrenching. Worth the though, never hatched anyone, I can't imagine how hard that is to part with them! You become their parent for a short time. 😢😭😭😭. A brilliant thing to do.

When I was around five years old, I found a red bird that got stuck in a jar. I went & got my grandmother & she took the jar & helped it get out of there. I was so upset with her because she set it free. I wanted to keep it not realizing it would die if I did. I'm in my 60s & that just stayed with me throughout my life. I remember everything about that day. She loved blue & red birds. When she passed, I was sitting outside missing her & a red bird flew close to me & sat on a branch where I was looking at me. I think it came to tell me not to worry that she was alright.

As a guy who is also from the Netherlands, I wanna thank you for what you're doing for the animals. You're honestly living my absolute dream! Being a student living in a tiny studio, I try to do what I can when I find injured animals. I've bonded with 25 ducks around my house and feed them, let them climb in my lap, and give them some cuddles; it's the best thing ever. I hope one day I'll be able to buy a small house with some ground so I can take in injured animals rather than just keeping an eye out and having to call the animal ambulance when something is wrong. You're a true inspiration to try and go after that dream for me. Keep up the hard work! Edit: some of my rescues are now on my channel in case anyone wants to check them out!

Naww, thank you so much! I will say that I'm very lucky to leave in a country where an animal ambulance is available; it's part of the reason why I am able to take injured animals home or capture them if need be; they'll pick them up and I won't be taken on the vet costs. I can see how that may be a struggle for people who want to help, but cant due to their own financial struggles in other countries :(

If he had incubated them, they would’ve hatched too… I guess he figured that since only one egg was alive at the moment, that that was already going to be a handful to raise as it was, not knowing what species was going to come out of the egg and all. I’m sure if there was life found in the other eggs, he would have incubated them too and risen to the challenge to raise them.

I’m Dutch but live in Ireland. When I lived in The Netherlands I actively protected the field birds in our fields by cutting the grass way later in the spring, after the eggs in the found and protected nests were hatched. But also the smallest nests of the tiniest birds we didn’t find as they were perfectly hidden and the parents were masters in diverting us from the nest location. Awesome days!

I have used chopsticks before to feed a young bird, they mimic the shape of the parents' beaks so very effective. Mine was older, it had left the nest too soon and was in danger from my cats. But it saw me as the enemy and pecked at the chopsticks when they got near because it saw them as a threat, but then realised they had food and got used to the idea. It rejoined its family when I released it.

No matter how many times I see one I always get excited when I see one of your little eggs hatch. This one was particularly exciting because you didn’t know what type of bird it was. Thanks for your videos. As you can tell, I really enjoy them. ❤

If you like animals (and egg hatching specifically!), are you familiar with Snake Discovery? They've been posting tons of snake hatching videos recently and they have a similar feel-good vibe to ACCA. If you like this channel, I have a feeling you'd like them as well.

@@azuradawn5683 Hello, I don't know if they saw your comment, but it sparked a warm light in my eye. 😉 I LOVE baby Anythings! And especially snakes! I don't have any now, but my first one was baby ball python, and the other one was a reticulated python. My ball grew to about 5 ft... BUT my reticulated grew to be 14 ft long, and when I had to give him up (I gave him to a breeder in exchange for a couple of babies when I returned home) he was eating full grown rabbits, he was that big! It took 3 or 4 guys to lift him. Lol And Noo!! The rabbits were from a guy who grew them for food (usually people, but a few of us snake people used them too), and he always killed them humanly & he'd have one ready for me when I picked it up. And all you people that want to yell at me... well just hush. Snakes need to eat too! 😊🐍

@@PADS62Anyone who wants to yell at you needs to remind themselves where their last serving of hot wings came from. Only the vegans can lecture us because at least they practice what they preach. Personally I can't have anything as a pet that eats something else with a backbone. I didn't even like pinching the last segment off the back legs of the crickets that I fed to my lizards (so the spines wouldn't damage the lizards' guts).

@@azuradawn5683 Hi Melissa thanks for your suggestion. I do indeed watch snake hatchings! I watch Keary Molinaro - I will Snake Discovery to my list. ❤️

I am so glad to have met this gentleman on RU-vid. More videos about people like this would add a much-needed addition to the awful news we are exposed to on the major channels.

The same signature move since she was a tiny baby bird. I wonder if it’s a species thing or a “this bird” thing.
