NO JOINTER DO THIS

If you do not own a jointer this is an effective way to joint boards.
I have been doing this for months while my jointer was broken and it
works very well and it is consistent. Give it a try. I did not come up with this method, I saw it on Honey Badger Woodworks RU-vid channel so I will give her the credit for sure.

I did this last fall when combining my cut off scraps into a project panel. It works pretty great! Granted, it's not perfect, but it's much better than buying a jointer for us with less shop space.

@Andrew-ih2gz absolutely, definitely not a replacement, but works way better than I thought it would. Thank you for the comment and watching! Very much appreciated

I've used this way before I had a jointer!! Definitely works. I thought the same way you did lol if it wasn't going to work. Peace

It’s more efficient than a sled unless you are starting with a live edge or a badly warped board since this is removing an 1/8” at a time

Any thoughts on full length boards? Lotta crazy people wanting 10' long tables, and don't have a jointer yet, and the lumber supplier does a "straight line" that is, well, insufficient.

Never done 10' before, sure it can be done if you can keep the boat tight to the fence.

That's how I do mine because I don't have a jointer

I much prefer to shim out the outfeed side of my router table fence. Takes longer than this method, as you are taking .093-.125" per pass, but all I have is time. I usually take .064".

Yep that's a good method, like I said, there are plenty of ways to do it. I don't have a router table, but if I did I would probably do it that way. Thanks for sharing another way to joint boards and thank you for the comment and also the view!

Yes this is another way to joint. I also personally like my router table for this. It has shims on the outfeed side.
