Very good wave, but... I have a video taken by me in Mundaka (my Basque country lands) with a 14 second barrel and after this the surfer go in the second section with another barrel. Sometimes 500m + waves with three or four barrels sections.
Pretty surprised how many people were out when it's that solid and heavy. It's pretty much perfect but definitely not a friendly looking wave to fuck up on or get stuck to deep and end up on that inside section. Epic clip
If you didn't know this trick already then I advice you to do this: At 1:20 hit your space bar to pause the video. Then use the period ( . ) and comma ( , ) buttons to go frame by frame. Enjoy!
For those of you that understand how to surf fast suck out reef breaks like this....what should the guy at 0:43 to 1:00 have done differently....because what he did, did not work out so well. Turning down into the flats a 0:49 was the mistake...right? I assume he got pulled over? Terrifying.
shooter7a Once he lost the speed & there was no longer the option of pulling off the wave he’s only option would have been to attempt to penetrate as deep as possible into the face/back of the wave pointing back out to sea. Pulling in but also penetrating was he’s safest option, going over the falls on a wave like that is so dangerous.
