When he said he does door dash. What he means is that he has some girl doing door dash and he’s living off her and what they can steal. With his attitude he’s never had a job and never will.
Expired license, car probably not insured and takes other people's things. That attitude in the court is not just disrespectful to the judge and court, but to the people of Harris County, State of Texas and to the US laws and customs we the people live by.
22-year-old: (fidgets and kind of mumbles) y'all: he's probably committed embezzlement and high treason. actually, this is the very snapshot of unamerican repugnance. from now on, if you flunk chemistry - which i can tell this guy did - you should have to work in a mine as a canary.
I know people who do that. Their partner or friend does the driving and they handle the products. I actually have one regularly that works as a couple. I think for some its for safety.
@@myfestivus4336 What "right wing media" are you referring to? What does ANY media have to do with that comment? With that comment all you have accomplished is showing all of us how stupid you really are.
Why don’t courts and moreover judges require the persons entering into their courtrooms to pull their GD pants up onto the hips and belted or they will not be heard!
Yeah I don't know who made this guy a judge but wow that was a bad f****** decision. I just the fact that he's wearing a blue suit with a blue damn bow tie as a judge is a joke
I thought he would be worse/ more deliberately defiant. It seems to me he has ADHD, no medication and zero education on how to properly behave in public.
even then. he's what, fidgeting kind of? i was waiting for him to do something offensive when all of a sudden judge was like "hey. stop oppressing me by Being Over There"
He wasn’t that bad. And I’m very figitiy as well when nervous. last time I was in court for a traffic violation and needed to show my insurance (that was valid) I was shaking and nervous too and came to the bench area too soon and got yelled at! 😮😂😅. I don’t see where the judge thinks he crossed th line here. I’ve seen so much worse and judges not blink an eye. This judge is a bit nervous to me as well!
There are two different hearings in this video: the main hearing and the follow-up. In the main hearing, you see how most people would conduct themselves in a hearing without an attorney. In the follow-up, you notice how most people would if they were represented. I am, of course, applying George Carlin’s theorem on the true level of stupidity of the average person.
100%. The attitude adjustment on the second day was remarkable. It's kind of what prompted me to make this video. There are times when pro se is ok, sometimes where it is required. Criminal court ain't none of them times.
This is how a judge keeps control of his courtroom, there are a lot of judges out there that could (and should) take note. Perkins, for sure, he always has people walking all over him and he doesn't seem to know how to stop them.
Part of the problem with Perkins is that he almost never has anyone standing before him. They’re all on zoom. I snicker every time he slaps someone with contempt because they’re not going to turn themselves in, and I doubt the Detroit police have time to go get them. He needs to have in-person court again.
@@LoneWolfUsul He has issues. That stare-down he had with the defendant. And where was it that he showed any attitude? It was all "yes, sir"? Just because his nerves made him fidget doesn't mean he was being disrespectful. Some of us are very nervous when standing in front of people. Ever have to do any public speaking? Actually, I feel that the JUDGE disrespects the court by wearing a suit, and a casual one at that instead of proper robes.
@@AMARVELGIRL The people of Harris County are good with him. He’s an excellent judge, and probably doesn’t care whether or not you approve of his wardrobe.
Sadly not. He wont change from that episode. It will have confirmed his existing view that 'normal' people with authority are vindictive, pompous bullies with attitude.
I noticed that too. I had to rewind to check, but yeah...maybe door dash doesn't pay that well, or he's such a lousy thief that he can't steal any other clothes, or maybe they're his Sunday best?
@@shanewilson7994 People moving towards death always think things are getting worse. No one wants to think they're checking out just when things are getting real good.
@@MrShobar I can see that. And some of it is also just seeing a jaded past. Unfortunately things may start for real be getting worse very soon due to climate change. (I am aware some areas are already feeling the negative impact really bad)
What a well spoken young man and very respectful. Too bad he a federal warrant for his arrest. I hope he deals with his problem and leads a very good life. He should use this opportunity to become a community activist as well as a spokesperson about police corruption.
Nah, just Fleisher being Fleisher. Putting the fear of god into mfs same as usual. Seemed angry but tame at the same time: usually he'll really hit you where it hurts. like talking about the future of your kids and wha'ta going to happen to your old nana if you don't change your wicked ways.
@@Slapdash1 Fleischer being Fleischer does not mean he's not unhinged. Take a look at Judge Boyd - that's an example of how a judge can both be firm, in control and not antagonistic.
The defendant was disrespectful but I thought asking for clarification regarding ability to drive if he renews his license was fair, the judge over reacted to that.
so he has no license, leaves the state when he feels like it, smokes weed where it is legal, but he doesn't drive. any bets he will be back before the courts alot?
It is unfortunate that this young man doesn't have a roll model in his life, he will continue to make mistakes and hopefully none that will land him in prison.
Ignoring everything else, if you're going to chew one person out for something then it should apply to everyone. He blasted the defendant for having his hands in his pockets but ignores the lawyer doing the same at 8:15.
@@bruceeickholdt9293 nonsense, if they were worried about that they'd simply search them. And arms folded has nothing to do with being armed. They don't want them to put their hands in their pockets or folded because it shows lack of respect for the court. Same reason they don't allow hats or sunglasses. So, my point stands.
Hard to take this judge seriously when he's shaking and popping open a Starbucks while reading someone their Miranda rights, showing up to court wearing a Nintendo Switch for a wristwatch, talking about other people's conduct in the courtroom. There are no kings in this courtroom because there isn't room for them as long as this GIANT QUEEN sits on the bench
Can a lawyer answer a question for me did the judge have the right to test this guy at court. Cuz nothing to do with this was anything to do with drugs
This was definitely a bit much for a first time offender. I think that Judge Fleischer should not assume that all people are well versed in courtroom etiquette. Most first time offenders have probably never stepped in a courtroom in their entire lives. This defendant not knowing courtroom etiquette asked a question as it pertained to his conditions. Fine, it was addressed and now he knows. I do not believe he was out of line. People are products of their environment and I personally believe that his behavior was unintentional. He was respectful and replied with “yes sir” after realizing he was out of line. The whole stare down the judge did really didn’t match the misstep. Also, putting him in the jury box and faulting him for standing up after waiting an hour was again not appropriate. I really hope that this had nothing to do with race. This judges’ parents are from Santiago, Chile. I would hope that being a minority himself would deter him from any racist behavior but you never know.
No, he doesn't. He's forced into a position of having to parent adult men. Not an easy task. Sometimes you have to take a child - in this case, an adult who thinks and behaves like one - down a peg or two to get their attention. Then you can rebuild. And excels at this process. Go back and watch some of his other videos with Judge Fleischer and you can see the whole process and how it works. His goal is to keep the streets safe and give these aimless young people a better future.
This judge has serious issues! He was seething for the SLIGHTEST interruption. I saw NO sign that the kid thought he was "king of the world" or anything close. Did he fidget? Yes. It's called NERVOUSNESS! Did he have a question and interrupt? Yes again. But I honestly believe he didn't mean any disrespect. It was his first court date and he didn't know it's not like a normal conversation. Should he have waited to ask? Another yes but it was the smallest of slights and any normal, well-adjusted man would be able to see it was a mistake. Just correct him and tell him not to do it again. The fact that he jumped on him when he stood to stretch his legs after sitting for at least an hour is ridiculous! Maybe he was cramping up! He didn't try to go anywhere so what's the damage? All in all, I have seen this judge a few times and genuinely believe he needs a mental health assessment. Maybe some counseling to overcome his power issues and whatever else is fueling his need to do an EXTENDED STARE DOWN for the smallest of slights - perceived or real. (THAT was way over the top and creepy) It's too bad that we see more judges either too lenient or absolutely power mad. Too few are right there in the middle where we need them to be.
Its crazy that this kid thinks he's gonna make it through life looking and doin the stuff that he's doin. He's so concerned about looking cool its unbelievable...
This judge must get some nice fan mail!!! There needs to be more like him, Simpson & the Judge from Detroit & the others (can't recall his name, but he HATES SovCitzs) ....
Yeah I'm just going to go out and say this. If I was the defendant here I'd ask for a new judge cuz I'm sorry but I do need a blue bow tie cannot be responsible enough to judge what's going to happen in my life
This judge was wrong to advise him or his rights and then not ask if he wanted a lawyer right then and there when setting bond conditions as he asked possible incriminating questions that a lawyer would/should have been there to assist with. He was nervous and NEVER disrespectful. He said he'd never been in court before. This shows an inherent bias on the part of the judge/court for people are fearful of the system for just the very way he is treated here. The judge went from 0 to 60 on him for nothing more than fidgeting around.
So here, I think the judge is being a bit unreasonable - while the young man was moving around a lot, I didn't get a sense that he was being disrespectful; and he responds with yes sir and no sir. He had a reasonable question - what about when he gets a new license? Why can't he take a driving test? Why can't he drive once he has a license? Why the weed thing on a shoplifting charge? If he used legally in another state - why is it any business of the court? I certainly did not get the impression the defendant was trying to 'run' the court.
Me either. I can't stand for more than a few minutes without twitching and losing focus. I can't sit for more than 30 mins so I would've been standing up to stretch too.
@carolesmith4864 yeah... and that's before LIFE starts to knock you down. That's before anxiety and depression take over people's lives. That's before ADD and ADHD diagnoses. You have no idea what those illnesses can do to people. I certainly do. It's not as black and white as you portray.
Judge seems really uptight and in need of therapy. A level of respect should always be given to criminals enough so that they understand that even the law understands them to be people and not just a problem to be fixed. This judge himself doesn't seem to get that. Hardly any noise in his court and he's even correcting his own staff. I'd call that a hostile work environment. ... And I know being judgey about things like this is wrong but I gotta say it: Dude dresses like Peewee Herman in his used car salesmen getup. Ouch. I wonder if anyone feels comfortable around him, for him to seem so uncomfortable himself. Several cognitive disconnects here...
I suppose that is a perspective you can have. I'm not sure you will find many who share it, other than people in a jail cell somewhere. But it is a perspective.
@@LoneWolfUsul The people who WILL share it are those who understand that human beings are imperfect and that sometimes their nervousness in a new and stressful situation will lead to less than perfect behavior. He said, "Sir" a lot. This judge is habitually aggressive whether there is cause or not. He radiates contempt toward anyone who steps even a little out of line according to HIS standards. He is a bully in a bow tie. And despite your clumsy attempt at innuendo, I've never been in jail or in trouble with the law.
Expired license and driving, no insurance, stealing, Doing this over and over and over. It is anti social behavior. Con artists will pretend to be "respectful" Thile breaking the law non stop.
I've seen defendants and even attorneys interrupt judges on occasion. If the interruption is on the level of an interjection rather than argumentative, judges frequently ignore it as a normal course of conversation. This is what this defendant did, and he did it just one time rather than repeatedly despite an admonishment. He was fidgeting a bit but I saw that as sign of nervousness rather than disrespect. Mostly what I heard from the defendant was most statements ending with "sir", and replying with, "Yes, sir." Hardly disrespectful. I think the judge was far more disrespectful than the defendant.
This judge is a bully. Absolutely unacceptable. I watch court videos all the time and see very strict Judges maintain control of their court rooms without being a bully. This defendant’s behavior was not at the level requiring being bullied. Absolutely unacceptable. This judge is the one whose behavior is out of line.
Sound issues? Us work on the court rooms sound issues? lol. You know we don't setup the sound equipment and camera systems for the courts, right? We just capture a feed that the state makes available and comment on it. I normalize every video, run it through a sound compressor, and balance for dolby, but that is arguably more than I should do since most people watch this content on cell phones and tablets. LOL.
I'm guessing there is more going on in the background. The Judge seems to be angry with this young man from the start of the video. There must be more video's, because from what is shown here I could see the Judge being a bit stern with the defendant, but not this angry. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see more Judges finally enforcing the law again. I'm also glad to see more of the "Travelers" and "Journalists" being held responsible for their misinformation.
Sent to the jury box where he stays but gets up to stretch his legs. Considering the behaviour of other defendants, this is pretty mild. I've looked back at the video and cannot see the words he said that set off the judge: 3:48. He wasn't even moving much.
No! If you think and have behavier as King dumbag, you ruin your life as a young person ! Noone get you as employer or mason or... while noone trust you and hate you!! 😢
