It's such a beautiful video and such a sad story! The yorks deserved better!

The White Queen and Florence + The Machine? Perfection!

I thought I'd do an analysis of this video though, because the more times I see it, the more symbols appears. 1. "You are the hole in my head You are the space in my bed You are the silence in between what I thought And what I said You are the night time fear You are the morning When it’s clear When, it’s over you’ll start You’re my head You’re my heart" A long, but for me quite symbolic fragment. I treat it as a kind of introduction to the plot of the film, which emphasizes how important the relations between the sons of York and their wives were. "You are the hole in my head" describes perfectly well the very first acquaintance of Edward and Elizabeth in Grafton; in spite of the oak argument, they remained a "hole" in their heads. "You are the space in my bed" You are showing the scene of Anna's empty bed, where Richard should be, but the words themselves testify to their strong intimacy. "You are the silence in between what I thought And what I said" These words perfectly describe Isabella's basis; she has always been quiet, obedient and listened to her husband. A perfect medieval wife. "You are the night time fear" Elizabeth had a lot of scenes when Edward was at war, and I think using them for those words is the right thing to do. It's usually at night that her fear and longing for her husband is shown. "You are the morning When it’s clear" A symbolic passage, but very much to understand. If there was peace in the kingdom, husband and wife could spend nights and mornings together. "You’re my head You’re my heart" These words speak of intimacy and closeness, but not only. First we see the image of war, but then the proudly walking brothers of York: The King and two Dukes. Their robes are rich, which is evidence of their high position at court and in the aristocracy. This is quite important, because the higher the position of the husband, the higher the position of the wife. So if a husband or wife did something wrong, the latter also felt the consequences. 2. 'No light, no light in your bright blue eyes I never knew daylight could be so violent A revelation in the light of day" Great bits and pieces about the brutality of life. Elizabeth's eyes are shown very symbolically, which are blue. That's when she found out how brutal Edward can be to protect his family and his crown. Then there's Richard, who wants revenge for his father's death. The passage is not only about showing the brutality of life, but also about certain characteristics of the Friars of York. "No light, no light" may indicate that they have seen no other way to resolve the situation peacefully. So we can see their good intentions, but also their resignation, their brutality, their desire to stop wars, their desire for revenge, impulsivity, violence. 3. "You can’t choose what stays and what fades away" Two scenes when Elizabeth sees Jane in bed with Edward, but also a scene of their quarrel. We can see here a woman's powerlessness in the face of her husband's strong character. The queen has little influence because she can choose nothing; she is powerless. Although I think the scene when Richard leaves the chamber of Edward, still alive, has a stronger impact. The Queen sees Edward on her deathbed (her past) and Richard, who has just become Lord Protector (her future). It's a matter of life and death literally, but there's still nothing she can do. 4. (First one) "And I’d do anything to make you stay" Further words that perfectly describe Warwick's older daughter; she wanted to be a good wife for George, she never objected. She wanted to satisfy him with a son, the successor he wanted. The scene in which Elizabeth covenants Edward's double. She would do anything to make Edward stay. 5. "Tell me what you want me to say" Elizabeth and Edward under the tree wanted to hear something different. Edward was precise about his desires, but he wanted Elizabeth to do the same. She did it, but very characteristic. By putting a blade to her neck she admitted that she didn't measure so low; she didn't want to be just a lover. But that's not what Edward wanted to hear now. 6. Through the crowds I was crying out and In your place there were a thousand other faces For me, that part is about Edward. Richard looks at him when the King rises from the throne. There were many other rulers before him. Nevertheless, I also see a slightly broader context. After all, each of the characters was in very similar life situations, which were not very different from each other; they were afraid, loved, worried. Their worries died in a crowd of the same worries. 7. "I was disappearing in plain sight" It's amazing how much there is in this movie about Isabell! We're talking about a woman's disease that made her even more invisible. Everyone saw her, but not many remembered her. 8. "Heaven help me, I need to make it right You want a revelation, You want to get it right [...] I think the quotes for every character in the video. And not only. In the difficult moments of their lives, they found solace in God and their faith, hoping that this would help them go through the difficult moments. 9. "And would you leave me, If I’ve told you what I’ve become Cause’ it’s so easy, To say it to crowd But it’s so hard, my love, To say it to you aloud" It's probably one of the best suited fragments to the character. If someone has watched TWQ, there is no doubt that this is the part about Anne. She wasn't afraid to say out loud in front of Robert that she had the boys as a threat and she wanted them dead. But she wasn't brave enough to say the same thing in front of Richard, because she was afraid of losing him. There are no symbols here, but everything is perfectly depicted in the lyrcis of the song fragment. 10. "You want a revelation, some kind of resolution You are the revelation" We expect someone to give us a solution when we are the key. You've made a great comparison to Richard and Edward's fight before George's death. _______ Now I wanted to talk about some symbolic scenes, which I haven't mentioned yet, but which appeared in your video and squeezed my heart. 1. "But, it’s a conversation, I just can’t have tonight" This is one of the fragments shown at the very end in the context of Richard and Elizabeth of York/Edward and Elizabeth Woodville. Both Elizabeth can't talk to their loved ones because they're already dead. It's too late.We're just seeing Lizzie stretching out her hand in front of us... She could have touched Richard because he was so close. He's gone now. Then we see Edward, who is on his deathbed and has the last conversation in his life. The heart is squeezed. 2. 2:23 A very symbolic scene; first we see the brothers who walk proudly into three, then we see Richard alone in dark without a light during a lyrcis "no light, no light". I had edit together and lonely with the same scenes at the beginning of my business with instagram and, like you, I see a lot of feelings; loneliness, hopelessness, powerlessness... 3. 3:35 A scene from the solar eclipse; great historical symbolism referring to the House of York. In the context of the video, it does not only announce the fall of a dynasty, but the end of an era, a dynasty, relationships and the death of many people. 4. And last "Tell me what you want me to say" A kind of epilogue of the end of your video, but also the beginning of certain consequences of the relations of the previously shown characters. Among other things, Elizabeth had to bear the consequences, as she was the wife of a king of an enemy dynasty. Completely subjugated, because her relatives couldn't handle certain things properly and "to get it right". _______________ Now some technical matters. I see that you have recently become fond of the "medieval" font, which in my opinion has a great influence on the video, because the characters are characters born in English medieval times. Moreover, I see that you've done a short kind of flashback. Exactly the same effect, I can see in a video about Prince Richard, which is a huge plus for me. __________ For me personally, this is a video about how close relationships with anyone are needed. We need the closeness of another person and we will do everything we can for that person to stay, because loneliness can come in the least expected moment. There is a message that we should enjoy the other person and look for the right solution until the last moment, so that we don't suffer the consequences later on. MASTERPIECE I AM WAITING FOR TOMORROW!!!!
