My favorite part is the 'get over it'. It's super ironic, but right now I have the worst skin I've ever had (and I really mean ever) as I came off birth control after using it during my whole puberty and teenage years. And guess what? I have developed the best relationship with my skin that I've ever had, not despite but because of my acne. I started valuing times where I don't break out, and accepting times where I do. I was wearing full coverage ELDW with almost perfect skin, I don't even wear concealer anymore now with my acne. Because I got over it. My imperfect skin does not define me.

Lidia Jimenez Believe me, I know how you feel. When I was still using birth control, I didn't have a single blemish, really not a single one and I never even washed my face (!). The only part of my face that I was obsessed with was an hyperpigmented area below my lower lip. I would stand in front of the mirror, cover it with my finger and think that if that one spot was gone, I'd be the happiest person on the planet. Then my acne started and I had more spots to cover. I thought if these three pimples went away, I'd be happy with myself and at some point I couldn't cover the spots I hated with my fingers anymore. Only then I realized that there was a time where I didn't have any of those spots, and I wasn't any happier with myself back then. It didn't matter how my skin looked. I did lots of research, built a skin routine, went to the dermatologist, changed my diet (mostly for ethical reasons) and still, my acne wasn't gone and I felt so helpless. The truth is, while perfect skin may be reality for a few chosen ones, for most people it isn't, no matter what they do and guess what? IT DOESN'T MATTER. Because you're beautiful anyway. There will be days where you feel gorgeous, and others where you'd rather hide underneath a rock, but everyone feels that way and that's perfectly fine. You can do two things, a) get over it like Asia summed up so well and realize you're fabulous no matter how you look or b) focus on your imperfections (that most likely only you see so vividly - believe me, I'm a psychologist haha) and be unhappy all the time. It's good to work on yourself, don't get me wrong, but sometimes you need to take a step back and give yourself a break.

exact same!! i use to not be able to leave the house without a full face of makeup bc i hated my skin and now i don’t even wear face makeup only brows and lashes and it feels so good! good for you girl!!!

Linet Durmusoglu wow thank you so much for your words, i totally agree with you. I cant fit my skin care products in my room anymore and i really needed some kind words. Youre so right when you say im the only one that sees my imperfections so vividly, i talk to my friends about how awful my skin look and they be like "girllll what you talking bout" 😂 Im starting to wear less makeup so i can stay happy with the skin im in. Thanks again, really appreciated you took your time on writing this.

I'm honestly quite young so Idk how I feel about my skin but since my family are obsessed with perfect/clear skin, I kinda have to put myself down to actually care about my worsening acne. It's actually not that bad though, because as soon as I stopped caring, my acne started to go... and yeah, it did take months for it to go, but it completely disappeared off of my face. I started to worry about maintaining it and now it's back again, in the same position, on my cheeks and forehead... but I realised that my acne is what made me beautiful in a weird way, because without it, I would look like everyone else and I wouldn't understand the struggles of feeling helpless and then feeling the victory of getting over it!

I love "get over it!" the last, like, 6 months have been the worst skin months of my life! im 22 and had been having HORRIBLE hormonal acne until like last month because i went on medication for it. The acne is gone, but i have been left with a lot of hyperpigmentation and some scarring, but i have never felt happier with my skin! i am just so relieved to have gotten past the acne that i don't even care to cover up every dark spot on my face, im just happy to have clear skin :)

Yeah I had been trying to fully cover my dark marks because I have loads and it didn't look natural. But now I put on my power foundation and whatever doesn't get covered, just doesn't get covered 🤷🏾‍♀️and it looks like I'm not wearing any

What you can do is find a foundation in your shade and dilute it with a luminiser/moisturiser/primer. I know the struggle of not being able to find a tinted moisturiser :/

I use the original one, and I completely agree, it definitely gives that natural look!😊 Btw, you definitely do not need to fix your eyebrows, they’re perfect without being filled in!😄 (although all girls tweeze small hairs around the shape, so that’s normal🙈😄)

you should try the sonia kashuk cream highlighter in the shade sparkling sands! i haven't tried the hourglass one you used but i feel like it looks similar and performs just as well as a high end highlighter in my opinion :). also LOL at "get over it" 😂

I agree. The too faced better than sex mascara transfers like crazy, and I even got the waterproof ver. Not worth it at all. The L'Oréal voluminous paradise mascara is in my opinion very similar to it but it's way better and cheaper.

One of the biggest curiosity that I have about no makeup makeup is: does it last? We're literally using no foundation other people uses no concealer. Or sometimes they use it in very little amount. Will all these products stay in place for a long time? Will you sweat if off? Or is setting spray the answer of all my questions?

Look up classes in your area. Audit a few (this is a free class that you sit in on, but do not participate.) Once you find your fit, take classes. Watch films, television, Hollywood Roundtable interviews. What shows are being nominated? After taking classes, look into student films & webseries. That's a good start.
