That is a great ideal. Me and my granddaughter would put hot chocolate powder and crunch up candy canes put them in the jar where it would make at least three cups full and put on the label how much to put in each glass of milk or water. I'm going to see if she wants to help Grandma make these doors for Christmas for my special Neighbors. Love you.❤❌
One year I made a soup in a jar with lots of different beans and some herbs in a small bag. All you had to add was water and some pieces of chicken. My grammy also wrote in her diary at the end of the day. One time, she got a letter form the insurance company saying becasue she had missed a dr appointment she needed to pay a fee. Well, Grammy opened her diary and saw that that particular day we had went on a trip in the boat. She was really good at planning things and wouldn't have planned a dr check up appointment for a week when us grandkids were visiting. SO she called the Dr office and explained that she didn't have the appointment becasue she wouldn't have scheduled it on that day. Turned out they had transposed some number in the computer and her appointment wasn't until another day, and she had kept that appointment, so there should have been no fee. Those diaries really come in handy. My mom and sisters have really enjoyed reading in them. Sometimes things weren't always what they wanted to hear (you know, family squabbles, and I guess Grammy really wrote how she felt in her diary). But It's been nice for them to read her words.
❤️ Love the cake/cookies in a jar idea !! For coworkers birthdays, I put together flower arrangements. Everything is from Dollar Tree, they turn out gorgeous yet inexpensive. This season, trying my hand with bath salts. Everyone loves them and bath bombs are everywhere !! ❤️
These are an awesome idea . Great for the little teachers gifts or gifts to keep on hand ready for the unexpected gift needed when someone stops by the house. I have some homemade candles and soaps that I keep ready too. This way if somebody stopped by with a gift you are prepared, I also love our mail lady. Every year she loves my seeds I save for her, or my dormant plants that I pot up ( yes, they look like a pot of dirt.....but a fellow gardener knows better) ! The seeds I save, I put in real pretty homemade seed envelopes. It costs pennies and given to the right people, it is a welcomed and appreciated gift. This year I am making seed pistcards, they literally plant the postcard, the seeds are embedded in the homemade paper the postcard is made out of. Many years ago, I did my wedding invitations on these. The flowers still bloom!!!! Even though the marriage fizzled! People really loved them.
They turned out beautiful and such a nice gift. I might try making a few of those myself. I love giving and receiving homemade gifts. Just knowing someone took their time to make something especially for you means so much. I really love hearing from Grandma Fannie. She was for sure a sweet, hard working soul. Thank you for sharing her writings!
What a great idea. I actually bought pre-made cookie dough bags from Home Goods for $6.99 a bag. The graphics were cute on the bag the jars you made were so adorable and you can control the ingredients. I’m definitely doing this at Thanksgiving and Christmas 🎄. Once again a great video.
I enjoy making Christmas gifts too! I havent tried making gifts in a jar yet but I like your ideas and may try to make some this year. I like to sew gifts also. Ive gotten alot of good deals on fabrics at yard sales so Im all set on that! Great video, thank you Tessie! 💕
Hi Tessie, Homemade gifts are the best. Thank you for sharing!! And such delightful soothing music that you played. I really enjoyed this video. Love, Mary ❤️😘❤️
❣Hi, Tessie, can you believe that: on Sunday a friend celebrated his 65. birthday and among other things I gave him 2 bottles filled with prepared ingredients for a bread and cookies, because soon he'll stop at his work and I wanted to give him some ideas for his life in future...I didn't make that myself, there was an initiative at my husbands school where these bottles were sold. Such a good idea to prepare them myself, too! Love the diaries, connecting us to a life not long ago yet hard to imagine nowadays. Love, Monika❣
Thank you Tessie for helping me afford to give a very nice gift for very llittle money. Using the Stafford County Flour Mills flour and Domino sugar from Dollar Tree and the jars with lid also from Dollar Tree, I was able to make 4 batches of your recipe for about $2.50 per gift. Also I tested out the recipe to see how the cookies tasted and they were delicious. Thank you so much.
Hmmm...I could make a few of these to keep on my pantry shelves for either quick gifts or …. for my use when I am strapped for time. Thank you for the inspiration.
I have my Auntie Eleanor's final diary, she asked that all of her other diaries be destroyed, which they were. The diary that I have has entries to about a month and a half before she passed away. The day that she passed away in a hospital more than 100 miles away, I received my last birthday card from her in the mail, she wrote that she wished me many more birthdays. On the front of the card was a drawing of a butterfly flying away, somehow that gave me great comfort. She's never far from my thoughts and heart.
Hi Tessie, I just came across your channel, I really did enjoy it. You are so bubbly and enthusiastic, it makes me feel happy. I just love your gingerbread boy apron and place mat, they are so festive. Thank you for your channel. I look forward to seeing it again.
Love it.. I'm not doing Christmas this year because it's been a hard year for me. Something like this is really nice.. Thank you Tessie. Merry Christmas.
Brown sugar with vanilla and some Christmas spices makes a great body scrub gift...depending on the herbs/ spices used it can also add a minor , natural "fake tan".
Oh ,Tess! My oldest daughter gave me a cookbook, a few years s ago, and it had these gift cards included to do just what you show here. Two of my younger grandsons have come and made these gifts with me for the past two years. I love the bonding time and they actually remind me when time is near to do it again...lol. This year we are making taco soup as well.
Loved the video. Simple, homemade, with love. Hope you can do more frugal gift ideas. Stay warm. Hey maybe a hor chocolate mixture. That sounds yummy. Loves and prayer to you all.🎀
This is a wonderful idea for a gift would never had thought of doing this. Truly an old fashioned home town gift. Bet this would sell well in an old time gift shop. It looks amazing. This one I can do all I need are the jars. I am making Xmas decorations from wood and other materials and things I have around. I made Xmas trees shapes from wood and I'm decorating them. I'll make a video of it soon. You are the most creative I have seen. Love the label's and the cloth skirt's adds a nice home touch. Look forward to more video's of your creations. I like the idea of diary readings at the end. I once had a diary I may start it again. Love you my sweet sister:)
I love your apron😍. What a awesome gift those would be they are all great. A special gift made with love that is the true meaning of giving. You made them look so very cute. I'm going to make some of them for my grand children's teachers and Sunday school teachers. Can't wait to see your other ideas. My friend you can come up with some great stuff to make. Also let me say you never stop amazing me as I say you are my hero my little sis. Have a great day God bless much love
I love gifts in a jar. They are fun to make, and practical. My 13 yr. old niece loves to get them. I give them to the barbers next door and they take them home and their wives get to make them up for them. They love it. I bought a tamper to pack my jars tightly with too. I love it and it helps a lot! god bless you sis!
If you put the chocolate chips at the bottom, you will have more room. It will not look as pretty, but less of a struggle to get everything in the jar.
I love that you use whatever jars you have since they are just going to be sitting on a shelf somewhere. And good tip on the flour. I never thought of looking there for flour. 🤦♀️
Oh Tessie what special gifts. I Love homemade gifts as they are from the Heart. Thank you for sharing your Talent with us. So until next time God Bless you and your husband and have a Blessed Weekend and Stay Safe my dear Friend. Happy Valentine's day to you both. ❤❤❤

Good morning my dear sweet Tessie. Love the video and can’t wait to see more gift ideas.Your so creative. Thank you for sharing all your ideas with us.Love you🦋❤️🎄
He Tessie! What a great idea! They are so appreciated.. I think I have seen jars done up for soup too. Your jars are done so festive! God Bless and keep you safe my friend.
P.S. Tessie, I was just at Wal-Mart and they had the cookies in the mason jars. Prices ranges from 2.98 to 4.98 and DID NOT LOOK, repeat DID NOT LOOK as GREAT as yours do!! Just saying!
I remember my mom making many kinds of cookies. She put them in Christmas tins, and they were made ahead, and kids told not to touch yet! Later, she put together platters of cookie varieties,w. slices of outbreaks. Those were sent to neighbors. Some goodies of their specialties, came our way to be sampled! I used to do the same, even one of my p.butter pies would find its way to neighbors! I once gave homemade beer bread,w.the recipe, and was told lady was recovering alchacolic!Oops!
Memories of my mother making cookies doing the same, making cookies and putting away.My children didn’t like I did the same...they’d seek and find! Thx Patricia for that memory🎄
Love this idea Tessie! The recipe looks good especially with the addition of old fashioned oats. The jars are so pretty! Can't wait to see this series. Thanks for sharing!
I live in a old mobile home too and i love it. I am blessed in that everything works in my old trailer. Water lights etc. But i have lived in places that didnt work and i lived like little house on the pairie. It was fun when i was younger. I am disabled now so cant live like that any more. But i admire you for making do with what you have. I always keep water lights and hot water working because i was afraid of cps comi g for my kids, but that was just me. I love my old trailer , i live in southeast Texas where we got harvey in 2017 and it survive when my neighbors in houses didnt not. That was all thanks to the good lord.
Those are really cute gifts ... I love the gifts in a jar. I really enjoy hearing from grandma's diary, doesn't matter where you place it in your video :)
I love the labels! Such "sweet"gifts. Maybe for an extra special something some measuring spoons tied with the label. Love this. Blessings sweet friend from Dee in NM.💜💝💜
Denise Martinez Your idea of tying on a set of measuring spoons is fun!i love that Tessie added a heart on her label! These are special, thoughtful and fun to give and receive! Take guess work out by adding to the label what they are ie: Chocolate Chip Cookies and the baking instruction of oven temp and time 💝
I have done this also and they are well received. l I do something different I... I take a dinner plate AND cut circles of gingham material with pinking shears. I place they on the lids by securing with large natural elastic bands that I have attached the homemade label to. I like your jute string idea. You could also give gifts of your homemade laundry soap and toilet cleaner bombs. You should go to the market and sell these.
Beautiful gifts friend. nothing better than gifts from the heart. Love your apron , The best gift I ever got was two years ago, I will always cherish and love this gift , it was such a beautiful gift, a gift from God that just keeps on giving,I thank God every day for blessing me with such a gift, and that gift my friend was you.
Each year my adult children all receive a basket or bin with homemade goodies, this year they are all receiving Tea jars( half gallon jars) to make sun tea,or cold brew tea in, they all love iced tea also some homemade& canned taco sauce, jams,if I have time brownies& or cookies,it cost me very Little & they all love it!
