Great Video and thank you. Just one question has a certisn type of grip got a bearing on the chicken wing. Eg does it perhaps favour a stronger grip rather than neutral or weaker?
Grip doesn't play a role with this issue. I'd focus on what Clay mentions in the video if you struggle with a chicken wing. If you're interested, here is a video where Clay discusses the grip: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TdDABvOU83I.html Play well! Nate | TSG Instructor
Explains my issue exactly. Only question, this looks like a perfect solution and drill for driver, does the same apply for irons, moreso around the extension aspect, (pushing up and clearing the space) when you're trying to 'cover the ball' more? Hope that makes sense
The body doesn’t rotate because of the excessive flexion in the body - mostly in the thorax - arms can’t extend because the swing center being too close to the ball so the arms have to flex because of the lack of space so they can’t extend or the club would crash into the ground! If the body extends it forces the arms to extend to reach the ball. Basically it’s a result of mathematical calculations and biomechanics. You cannot have extension in arms if the spine, hips, torso, pelvis, and thorax doesn’t extend because it won’t have the room to do so.
