Same I thought it was standard procedure and everyone did it this easy. That and wiggling it up close to the base of the lashes and then brushing it out to de clump.
That's the inexperienced way. Pull it out diagonally, THEN wipe all around it more than once on the tube. Now your wand is perfect and your mascara isn't way too wet.
I do this: First layer: I use it to "build" the lash. Meaning I use it at the root of my lashes and I wiggle it and turn at the same time (sounds weird but trust me) and I just concentrate on that part of the eyelash. Second layer: I use it on the rest of the lash, how you would normally apply it, from the mid to the outer part of it. They stay up for the whole day and they look fuller because the mascara goes from the base to the tip of the lash, instead of the middle part to the tip.
@@garlic1710 hey this isn't a dumb question dont worry lol. I prefer to do oil cleansing since I also use sunscreen and other products (blush, concealer, etc). But sometimes I'm so tired I just grab some micellar water and call it a day 🤭 The best thing is always to double cleanse (oil cleansing then foam cleansing in my case bc I have oily skin) but if not, just a makeup wipe will do
Finally someone who understands me. I sometimes literally wipe my wand with some paper just to get rid of the clumps. I HATE spider lashes. They're horrifyingly ugly.
Fr my friends always ask how I don’t get mascara clumps I just tell them I use like dying out mascara when there is none left there is barely on the wand so I go over it slightly or just scrape it like this girl did in the vid and get alll that mascara off and leave only a bit lol
I legit add water to even the very watery mascaras and legit like massage the spooly with my fingers. I rarely every put mascara on but when I do the goal is that the only way you can tell it's not my natural lashes is the color bcs my natural color is a very dark brown and mascaras have a bit of a striking black in comparison, and it's kind if a colder black I feel.
this tip worked so well for me to the point my lashes with mascara look way more natural (if i can call it like that). no clumps, perfectly separated and the perfect length to enhance my eyes instead of just unecessary length that brings down my eyes
Personally I use the first layer with only some wiping, and immediately go in with the same masacrara (but an empty tube bc I always use the same one) and use that completely bare comb to disperse the product
Thank you!!! You've no idea how much we needed to hear that... I keep comparing my makeup results to the makeup inspo from Pinterest and RU-vid and i get disappointed every time... I know its photoshopped but i still get frustrated😭... This is changing everything.. Love you!♥️
Your first step is to use a dry brush without product to separate and lift. Then use another dry brush with a tiny bit of oil and do the same. Your mascara will never clump. You can use a voluminous mascara first then follow with your length . With both of them, wipe the excess off with a paper towel first then place it only in the rim of the container to pick up an even amount while warming it up and then you apply.
Its usually not about how much mascara is on there, it’s about the application. The best way is to get to the base of the lash, move the bristles a bit from side to side so you get each lash, then twist the brush while you comb it through. If it was meant to comb through without twisting, the brush wouldnt be round.
I always do this too, I thought it was because I have sparse lashes and mascara wands aren’t built for my type. But maybe it would work better for every type!
I’m so amused… I figured this little trick (and the importance of doing it thoroughly) out back in HS. I haven’t seen anyone on RU-vid talking about it at the time. I’m so glad you brought it up cause I feel like people would benefit quite a bit with this knowledge in their make up arsenal.
I saw this video months ago and today I saw it again! I’ve been doing this ever since and it makes my mascara look so much better! It takes just a minute longer but it makes it look so good!
Yes, ive been doing this since the late 90's. I dont like my mascara to be clumpy on my eyes! I dont understand how people use it, without wiping the wand off.
I just lean the spoolie part on the edge of the tube as a pull and twist it out. It’ll wipe off some of the product while keeping it the tube. Then a clean spoolie after for touch ups :)
My mom always taught me that method just creates dried up clumps on the edge of the opening that sticks to your wand next time you pull it out. And makes extra clumps on lashes.
It sounds like it takes a while when she explains it, but I’ve been doing this since I was like 12 and trust me, it doesn’t take that long and it saves every mascara from clumping. I never apply mascara straight out of the bottle without removing the product. I don’t care how great your mascara is, it’s gonna clump and look bad unless you do this. Trust me, just try it. Your lashes will look 10x more natural and effortless.
I just always have 3 mascaras in various states of dryness. Sometimes I don’t want to apply any more product. I just want to straighten out lashes or fix a clump. I also wash and keep old spoolies for this purpose. I still wipe off the brush but that only does so much
