This works in 2021! I didnt have a potato brush but I used a soft brush with a simple off brand window cleaner. Water stain gone. Also used a blow dryer on the lowest warm setting to speed up the drying process a little

The water stains from other cleaners were the exact reason I tried this method. My sofa’s colour was light brown by the way. The window cleaner just evaporated without the water stain

Not really. I just turn the ceiling fan on and give it a few hours and it's usually dry by then.

It should. I would try a test spot somewhere hidden first, just to make sure this product doesn't leave any kind of mark on your couch. If not, I'd try it on the old rings but it might take several applications to get them out.

Do you have a link to your couch? We are shopping for family room furniture and maybe want a sectional, but they all are too big for our space. Yours looks like it might be a little smaller. We need something that’s about 80” along the back, and I love how yours comes out just a little without being a full lounge chair on that side, because our fireplace is close on that side, but we would like that extra-cozy touch. I’m hoping it’s available somewhere. Thanks so much for this tip! You are saving a lot of people a lot of money today! ❤️ Edited to add: Oh! And I love how real you are with your clothes and hair in your cleaning videos. I plan to be the same. Mine will be starting with decluttering, though since I’m a hoarder (mostly just books, so thankfully it isn’t disgusting garbage and such). After I’m decluttered, then I’ll switch that part to some form of cleaning videos. I haven’t fully decided yet.

I believe it's been discontinued but we do love it! We've had it since 2007 and it is holding up great! Now that I've figured out how to clean it, I don't worry about spots and spills any longer. Yes, I'm not trying to be too fancy when I clean because that's not realistic. I usually look pretty rough when I'm cleaning. lol I think people appreciate seeing that because isn't that how most of us really look when we're working around the house? :)

It does have a scent but you could probably find another glass cleaner that isn't.

I'm so glad it worked! I haven't had an issue with odor so I'm not sure but perhaps baking soda? I would do a test spot somewhere hidden first before putting it on your entire couch.

Yes, it would although vacuuming it first helps to remove dust and crumbs.

Did I understand what you said correctly? Towards the beginning of your video, you said that using water by itself or mixed with a detergent, leaves water rings / water stains on the microfiber upholstery, but later in your video, you imply that Method brand glass cleaner does not leave water rings / water stains on the microfiber upholstery. I'm not sure. You always want to try a hidden "test spot" before doing it on the entire couch.

If you happen to be out of the Method cleaner, you can use isopropyl alcohol for cleaning microfiber. I'm going straight to the Dollar Tree to buy the potato brush! May I ask if you use the Grove Collaborative dish brush for your dishes? Recently I was watching a RU-vidr that stuck her finger with the dish brush, and it required antibiotic ointment and a bandage. Love this type of video! H A P P Y E A S T E R

Yes, I had heard that about alcohol but for some reason, it didn't work for me. Yes, I do use the Grove dish brush but I've never had that happen. That sounds painful. :( I'm so glad you liked the video! Happy Easter to you, too!

So......I used Windex that has ammonia in it to clean my couches & they now have spots all over them. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the spots? Will an all purpose cleaner without harsh chemicals do the trick as well?

I'm not really sure why that happened Windex is actually the recommended product for this cleaning method. The only reason I didn't use Windex in the video is because I use Method glass cleaner, since it's ammonia free and I don't like using ammonia. Are you 100% sure that your couch is microfiber?

Glass cleaner sounds good but what about the drying process? Microfiber tends to always leave a water stain? Tips, suggestions, would greatly be appreciated. 😊

Once it dries, it shouldn't leave a mark. That's the point/benefit of using a cleaner that dries faster than water so it doesn't leave a ring. If you're worried about it, test it in an inconspicuous area to see what happens.

Our 3 yr old (who turns 20 next month!), drew a lovely cowboy picture with an ink pen on the cushion of our 2 week old microfiber couch. The cushions had velcro on the bottom, so there was no turning it over. I discovered it as we were walking out the door. I just had to take a deep breath, keep moving, and pray it would come out. When I came home, I sat down with warm soapy water, and scrubbed and scrubbed. I couldn't believe it came completely out! That boy didn't realize how lucky he was that day! :-)
