Omg! A year is insane! I'm a full time reborn artist and I only schedule 1 custom order every 8 weeks, for that exact reason. I've seen artists like you're talking about, who schedule way too many, and then their customers get left hanging, it's so unprofessional! As an artist, I have to say I really prefer selling ready to ship, the stress of how they will come out, if a customer will love them, if you did the version they had in their head justice is almost unbearable! Sometimes it's hard to bring your own vision to life, let alone someone else's 😂 I'm glad I found your channel, and I look forward to watching more from you! ❤
Hi 👋 and welcome thank you for the support. I’m not taking anything away from the artist. She did a good job of communicating, but a year is to long to wait after you have paid in full. And I’m having a hard time bonding with one of the dolls. But like you said they over book themselves taking on 12 or 15 clients at a time. When I get into reborning im only doing ready to ship. Maybe once a year do a custom haha. I hope you enjoy the content
He is adorable ♥ I have zero patience. It's hard enough waiting three to seven days for a doll to make it to me 😅 After hearing so many people having trouble and having to wait so long for a doll I don't even consider ordering a custom, I only order ready to ship. I find it to be a bit irresponsible for an artist to accept a custom request along with the full payment if they are already backlogged with orders. If I ever change my mind I will only request a custom from an artist I've followed for a long time, purchased from a few times and trust. I've never painted a reborn however I assume three months is more than enough time to complete a doll unless there is some unfortunate event that takes place. Also, I've come to learn that buying a reborn is like buying a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get. 😄
Hi. You have such great discussions. I don't know how new you are to the hobby but you are starting to see what you like and don't like. In respects to how you start out to how you continue, you're getting a hold on what can make the experience greater for you. This is so natural. What you like in the beginning may one hundred percent change as you go forward. I have so many videos on this very topic....transitioning. When I first started, I only wanted small, closed eyed babies....then I wanted an open eyed baby...then I wanted bigger babies. Now I'm into Masterpiece dolls, which I have twins. And today...I'M EXPECTING MY VERY FIRST CHILD SIZE DOLL...WHEW. I'm nervous but I did buy her ready to ship. I have four customs and I have a video on the pros and cons of customs. I would love for you to go by and check it out. You're not alone. It use to be for me...all I wanted was custom, because the doll had the vision of what I wanted. Now it's....customs are not priority. If I see a doll, I like it, then I'll try to get it. Great video❤.

I have never had a custom reborn doll. I do desire a custom one day! I definitely understand why you dont like the extreme long wait! First, they need to be honest with their customers. There is a huge difference between promising people eight weeks and then stretching it out to a whole year or even longer!! Some people have waited for three years!!! That is just for one doll!! A state of worry is definitely an understatement and well expected!! Your babies are absolutely beautiful! 😮❤❤❤❤

Gogo is so adorable, Beautiful Eyes! I have never ordered a custom and I don’t think I will. I have been scammed twice and thinking about ordering a custom gives me anxiety. I want to buy more reborns but I’m even terrified to do that.
Im so sorry that happen to you. I completely understand, you pay your hard earned money and you just step out on faith that you will received your baby and that you will receive what you really wanted. I have ordered as you know from onlyreborns.com Snug a big reborn nursery, so I can vouch for them. I don’t know if they do I Customs or just reborn what they want and then sale them. But I would try them.

Gojo is adorable!💙I can see why you are crazy about him. I have several kits but I have never had a custom done. All of my reborns are ones already created. I have been truly Blessed in acquiring the babies I have. 10 of my reborns were under $75 each. One was brand new from a new artist and 3 are in near perfect condition and the others I have had to clean and do minor repair. I have C.O.A.'s for 3 of them. It will probably be awhile before I get any of my kits painted.❤

He’s cute! I feel the same as you with customs.it’s a guessing game when it comes to the time your baby will actually be home then you have hope you like it as well as you thought you would. I think I like seeing what I’m getting before I buy it lol Cause you pay a lot of money for these little ones.

Hi, I am very impatient so I gave up on customs for the most part. I don’t bug the artist but I be going crazy waiting. lol The whole not knowing how they will turn out too is nerve wrecking for me. And a whole year my taste would have probably changed and I would lose interest depending on the sculpt…
I’m having a bit of a hard time bonding with my Ollie the Joseph Awake sculpt. He is so cute but I hardly do anything with him, you’d think I’d be all over him after waiting so long but I’m just 🫤 . I will keep trying .
