In this brief video I quickly talk about why RU-vid's recent decision to hide public dislike counters is a terrible decision for their platform, and why it is not made to protect small creators as they say, and rather to push a safer space for their corporate and political friends.

Note: This is essentially a one-off video. I'm not about to become a YT drama channel or anything of the sort. I just wanted to use my platform to discuss this change that I still strongly dislike. The next video will be on the DST/Terraria Crossover IF it's more than just a few skins and a small amount of content. If it's literally like 2 extra mobs, I probably won't bother, as I won't have much to say. Adios and much love

I saw this and got ptsd from edgy rick talking about current events, Im sure itll be a lovely video though because you're not edgy rick (it was indeed a lovely video, I've always been partial to hating on youtube, but this change is probably a new low when it comes to being a viewer)

Yeah I wasn't 100% on it while making it, but this really is quite a big problem imo. This video is probably more or less a one-off thing, I'm not about to become a youtube drama channel or anything lol

@@FreddoFilms I mean you're free to do whatever you want, youtubers should be able to branch out into whatever they want as long as it isn't cringe. People like Rick and Beard just create an annoying stain on one of the best communities out there. And yeah it's definitely important, if only youtube would ever listen to their community then this platform could be a lot better

It will, without the dislike button more people will turn to the comments to express their dislike of a video. But that's fine for RU-vid as that doesn't matter to RU-vid's corporate/politician buddies as they (almost) always turn the comments off anyway
