If we ALL sin and come short of the Glory of GOD, why should he have to step down??? He just did what we all do… (according to you). I mean, sin isn’t that big of a deal, right??? That doesn’t make any sense at all.

@roblane5699 Sin is a big deal. It is such a big deal that the punishment for sin is "death" But thank God for the cross ✝️. Jesus laid down His life and took on death so that we can have life. Sin Separate US From God. The cross brings us back into the right relationship with God. Repentance of sin is important, but turning away from sin is more important. Dr. Tony Evans has sin, yes. However, even though God has forgiven him, the church leaders and members have forgiven him. There still needs to be accountability. Dr. Tony Evans understands this, which was his reason for stepping down.

@@OneMinuteGospelTruth Stepping down “today” for sin of “yesterday” in not genuine, it’s most likely coerced. Lack of discernment is running rampant in the “church” today. As far as sin goes, it is definitely a serious thing. It’s so serious that only one sin got Adam and Eve put out of the garden of Eden, but somehow people have adopted a casual attitude towards sin. The benefits of The Cross of Christ are only available for those who confess and repent of their sins, not for those who continue in sin. Rom 6:1-2 GOD still forbids us to continue in sin.

I've even seen a video of one pastor that has an affair with a woman in the church, and he still refuses to set down. Dr Tony Evans did the right thing, and yet still, it's not good enough for the gossipers. Can you imagine if we should ask all the people who want to know about every sin, Dr. Tony Evans committed to tell us about their sins. We need to know every sin they've ever committed, and they need to post it all on the internet for the world to see 😳.. I'm 100 % sure that none of these people would be willing to do it. Now I must say you did show empathy and what we all must realize is that NOT ONE OF US IS PERFECT only Jesus is. But when we sin we have an advocate who is called Christ Jesus and he forgives when man will never forgive us. It is God's grace and mercy that is extended to all of us. This man has impacted millions with his ministry, of course people are going to want to know what’s going on. I love Dr. Evans and I will be praying for healing and restoration. Obviously, he hadn't repented of it that's why this is so devastating to those who had put their trust in him. And not the Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ. And based on those sins, we'll decide if we want to forgive and accept you back into our lives. God didn't say I'm going to see how well you do, and based on that, I'm going to decide if I want to forgive you or not to forgive you. God forgives all sins when the person is genuinely sorry for those sins and has fully repeated. God will hold every one of us accountable. You don't get to decide who gets forgiveness from who doesn't. Take yourself pride and your personal feelings out of it. Use wisdom and spiritual discernment. That's all!

Honestly, He made it public. Whatever the sin was hopefully it’s in his rear view mirror. We didn’t need to know the why or even that he was stepping down due to PAST sin. He could just stepped down for personal restoration. I pray the best for him.

I think they will keep his station on. They keep stations from dead pastors going.

It saddens me to hear that he's stepped down, but under the circumstances, I believe it's the right thing to do. This is a time for reflection, repentance, accountability, and healing. I'm very pleased to know that there is accountability in his church. Thank you, Jesus, for that. I personally know of churches that have zero accountability for pastors and other church leaders. The worst part about all this is the fact that too many Christians are more interested in what he did vs. wanting to pray for him. Acting as though they are all perfect and Dr Tony Evans is the only one that sins. Please ignore all the condemning ones and join in prayer with those of us who know we're not perfect. It's only by the mercy of God that we get the grace of God and not His judgment, which we all deserve because we're all sinners. Let's all keep this in mind and learn to pray for one another instead of condemning one another.

Thats exactly what I said..this one hurts. Tony evans just seems like a really good man almost like a father figure. We used to listen to Perry stone alot and a scandal broke that he was having inappropriate interactions with other women and that hurt. I can't help it but I just don't see him the same even though I can forgive

You may look at his sin as very bad, but remember, all sins are equal in the eyes of God. We humans are the ones that put different levels to sin to make ourselves look better than the others. Now I hope and pray that this is going to be a great eye opener in more churches, especially the black churches. If we look at TD Jake, there is no accountability. If we look at Jamal Bryant, there is no accountability. These so-called pastors cares more about themselves than they do the doctrine they're supposed to be preaching. They are doing more damage to the churches rather than building up the churches. Most of these churchgoers have no spiritual discernment, and so they stay supporting these pastors blindly. The blind leading the blind. Doctrine matters, and if we start caring more about our feelings for man more than we do, God. We have a problem 😕 We as Christians need to stop just going along to get along. To see evil and not called it evil is evil. I used those two pastors as an example, but there are many ,many more. Christians need to wake up and get right with God before it's too late.

Now, let's not allowed the devil to use this to create more division in the churches. 1 Peter 5:8 says, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: We're all sinful beings. Dr. Tony Evans sin is no greater then yours and mines. Romans 3:10 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; This is just another eye opener for us Christians that we're not to put our trust in man because no man is perfect. God is perfect, put your trust in Him. Don't condemned Dr. Tony Evans just because his sin, is different from yours. Pray for him, pray for your local pastors as well. And while you're at it, pray for spiritual discernment because we all need it to navigate through all the deception and lies from the enemy.

Everyone needs prayer for protection from the lust of the flesh. Especially when it comes to these modern day churches. There's more flesh being shown in these churches than the clubs. Before one would need to go out side the church to be exposed to these things but that was a very long time ago. Today, it's right in front of you on full display in church.. Whatever happen to the dress code for the churches? This is what happens when everyone are just try to go alone to get along. No more pureness, Holiness and righteous living. I respectfully disagree with you. It's like saying you as a Christian. Every time you tell a lie, fornicate, gossip about someone etc, etc. You were never a Christian. Through their preaching/teaching, thousands of people came to Christ. Just like these men, there were also other great men of God in the Bible that fell into temptation "sin" We all fall short of the glory of God. You are a sinner yourself just as we all are. Yes, ever since this came out about Dr Tony Evans, there's been a few more. Here is the good part about Tony Evans. He came out and admit that he has sinned. Stepping down was the right thing to do however, there are many pastors out there that have done worst and yet still they refused to step down. But here is the part that is even more worst. The church members still kept going to these churches and still support these pastors. So now it's clear, the pastors leadership is more important than God commandments. God very clearly said in His word what he's going to do with these lukewarm so-call christians.

And that's exactly what happened. It was discussed privately with God and the elders. The appropriate method was taken, which was the reason why he had to step down. Unfortunately, this is not good enough for most people. Mainly because they don't have much of anything to gossip about. I personally don't need to know anything. If he's confessed his sins with God, the elders, and he's being forgive. And also held accountable. What more do you want 🤔

That's good for you. For conscience sake now his ministry will always be questioned. The Bible is not hidden in shadows. Issues are openly shown. Paul named people who are to be put away. We don't get to always play in secrecy. Know those who labor among you. His labor reaches the world. If he had a 300 members congregation then he owes his conference an explanation. His ministry spans the globe. He cannot talk in secrete now.
