Thank you for sharing this beautiful message. It so resonates with my spirit. I really needed to be reminded of the fact that God meets us best in our brokenness, pain and honesty before Him. The world needs Christians who are authentic, who don't subscribe to the concept of "fake it 'till you make it", but who genuinely live out their lives before God and their fellow man on a daily basis. This is TRUE Christianity, modeled by Jesus himself. The language of lament is such a powerful concept. To me, it is the equivalent of encouraging spiritual "political incorrectness" in the body of Christ. We need more of it. Sadly, many of our churches today are just as plastic as the world, all smiles and pretense instead of honesty and expressing real emotions, which often include grief and suffering. When we as believers learn to be real, this broken world will be drawn to Jesus and the message of salvation will finally make sense. Esther, you are such a precious jewel - thanks again for sharing. I can't wait to read the book and put into practice the principles God has revealed to you. May God richly bless you as you share this important message with the body of Christ around the world.

"Fascinating!" Just the first word that came to my mind as I wanted to comment on this presentation. I found it through my daily reading of "Slice of ," (RZIM)and where I was not familiar with the author I wanted to at least know who she is. Well I had to watch the entire video. Being the father of three daughters made it painful to just think of the pain experienced. The brief references to the circumstances were horrifying enough, and so I can understand the reluctance of close friends to want to read the book. "Congratulations" for your marriage seem like empty wishes, in light of what I wish to express. Perhaps God will give me better words as I enter prayer today, but I wish you and your new family Godspeed, and healing a you enter into a new phase of your lives. God bless you.

Esther, I appreciate your heart and authenticity. I also appreciate Pastor Dave’s heart and his response to the message of lament. Addressing a good Father - when you spoke of this and how it took some time to address Him that way struck a chord. Thank you for your transparency and candidness. May God bless you and continue using you to impact the lives of those hearing this message.

My heart is so full of thanksgiving and praise to God who taught you the value of lamenting and made it possible for you to share it. God has used you to confirm all He is teaching me about transformation through pain and how to be open and real before Him because that's what He's looking for; that is true intimacy with Him. May God prosper you more than ever before Esther. Thank you for being so brave.
