I was cheated by a builder, he sold me a previously mortgaged flat to me, I paid the full amount to that builder yet got cheated, I filed case a cheating case in criminal court nothing happened, DEBT RECOVERY TRIBUNAL to stop bank from taking my possession of my flat, Nothing happened.. I ran in DMs office I was not entertained, i had to pay to bank to settle the loan that I didn't even take, to save my flat..i can tell you from my own experience, Indian laws never protect victims, it's designed in a way to safeguard cheaters....

the concept of Governor General was replaced with viceroy in GOI ACT, 1858. So there was Viceroy not Governor General when IPC was introduced, in 1860. and the Viceroy was 'LORD CHARLES CANNING' FROM 1858 to 1862.

Number of days In police custodial is NOT increased to 60-90 days . It’s within 60-90 days also magistrate can give police custody to the accused unlike the previous conditon of Initial 15 days . Now also the period is 15 days only!
