They need to limit sales to x2 items for each App accout eg Amazon/Ebay ect. Also thinks like x2 per delivery address/Bank payments, IPaddress ect. That way it would be a much harder job to buy stockpiles for market exploits.

@@MonkeyDLuffy-qh4ys if you're using playstation, yes diy repair on your own console would be better, and yes buying a custom hall effect controller would be long term better. but between buying a new dualsense every time it breaks or buying a dualsense edge then paying £20 to replace a stick, long term the edge is better and more cost effective.

@@itsporter Guli is supposedly getting close. They are focusing on building those little replacements for pro controllers first and then offering a PS5 option. They want to do it without requiring soldering which I don’t know how they could do that. The Nintendo switch ones work great and I have Hal sensor Nyxi controller.

I’ve never had to replace ps2 or 3 controllers , surprisingly it was only ps4 and 5 that gave me bad stick drift.

It's definitely on purpose. Hall effect joysticks would've worked great on a Pro Controller because of the increased precision and no drift but then no one would have to buy replacements so less money for the fatcats at Sony :(

We've had non drift tech in hal sensors for more than 30 yrs. They just dont care to implanent it

How old are you? Did they have some sort of advanced video gaming console in the dark ages that had a perfect controller? Because anything from 8bit all the way up to current day controllers are all susceptible to breaking and degrading overtime. Legit! I can buy 3 regular controllers by the time i buy that controller and a single stick... Also a 70 dollar controller in my opinion shouldn't get stick drift either and we should revolt against these companies selling us crap for premium prices

I'm far from a big corporation appologist, but exactly how would this be fixed? It's a small moving part that gets tons of wear and tear. It's not going to last forever.

@albertdavis1882 Sure, which will drive up the cost of production, which would be passed down to consumers. These companies need to find a balance to satisfy light and heavy users. They need to find that price-point + build quality that will yield the greatest number of sales worldwide. Most consumers are not heavy users. They aren't going to purchase a system if additional controllers run $150 USD because 25% of users are wearing out analog sticks within a year or two. If you can git gud at gaming, git gud at soldering skills. That's what I did, at least.

Stick drift is pretty much an unavoidable problem. They are making it cheaper for you to fix.

In My country, I can change the controller up to One year under warranty, I've already replaced 2 controllers

It depends on what you play, if you play for example fortnite, then you will get a stick Drift quickly because you use it very often. My brother plays only story games and after 6 years his controller hasn't stick Drift, I'm playing fortnite and cod and needed 2 new controllers because of the stick Drift

@@gegamed681 no that's not the case. competitive games like fortnite have a small deadzone by default cause you need to make small adjustments when you're aiming. story mode games use a bigger deadzone cause accuracy isn't really needed in story mode games, plus you can always restart the game

​@@i.d.6492 Depends on the game. If you play casually and don't spend that long gaming, about 5-7 months but if you play something that requires a lot of joystick movement then it'll start drifting in 3-4 months.

You can buy 3 ps5 controllers for the price of a pro model that's 6 joysticks and years of not having a stick drift🤣

For a standard controller. Which doesn’t have the trigger stops or the buttons on the back. This is a good option for competitive gamers who don’t wanna buy a scuf anymore

Well, then you might be in the minority as this is an issue. I'm in the minority with the Nintendo Switch as I've had it since launch and have yet to experience any drift issues. Both my brothers has had plenty. My PS5 is still pretty new so no issues yet. One of my brother's PS5 controller was so bad it rendered the games unplayable. His Xbox Series X has yet to experience any issues but, he plays way more on the PS5.

This doesn't apply to all stick drift cases, but people don't take care of their shit

PS4 controller are notorious for drift, PS3 can have drift after many more years. With PS3 controller, you will encounter random button press before drift. The random button press is caused by the ribbon cable loose connection to board. I just use an electric tape for padding when the rubber one give out
