you should stop taking the moral high ground as if reposting songs is some amazing community service. news flash, this project is already preserved on the artist's own page. your youtube post serves utterly no purpose. if you were actually concerned with internet preservation you could save it on a hard drive or something. that would actually be useful as that copy of the song wouldn't be reliant on cloud storage. i'm all for preserving history, but let's be honest; that's not what you're interested in, is it. and if it is, you are doing a terrible job at it.
I appreciate your criticism and I can clearly see the reasons why you went through to make these comments, but I believe that perhaps a segmented view may be a bit harmful when it comes to understanding. It may seem like I'm doing this for some kind of visibility, or that my work is unnecessary since the artist himself posts the songs, but I believe that by making this comment you are clearly not part of the archiving community. if you check my other videos, you will see that the vast majority of them were songs and MVs that were deleted or lost and that through a lot of work were found again and posted here. I would like to leave the point solely to the artist lieu that we are discussing right now and their projects. If you take them as an example, there are countless projects that were deleted (perobug, spies, Bug) and if it weren't for the work of the archivers they would be lost forever. Even with our efforts there are still songs that have not been found until now. Our work is not limited to something as futile as opening the artist's page, going to a download site and downloading the song. We search old Russian indexers, we develop scripts through github to monitor accounts, all to ensure that there is some kind of control over the music that is part of our lives. In addition to all of this, it is worth mentioning that I seek absolutely no type of personal advantage with my project, so much so that the portion of songs that I leave visible on RU-vid is tiny when compared to the true archiving project, which is found at the Google Drive. Furthermore, my channel is not monetized and whenever an artist gets in touch asking for a video to be deleted, I do so. We have even helped artists who have lost their own work and contacted us to gain access to our archives. I mention again that I understand that I don't run the project in the most impartial way possible, especially when it comes specifically to the artist in question, but that this happens due to years and years of disagreements that involve much more than just music. Despite this, I maintain my commitment to working voluntarily to ensure that we do not lose such ephemeral musical projects that mark us throughout our lives. I created this archive 5 years ago and since then Ive been archiving gigabytes and gigabytes of various underground artists songs from different genres, and I'm definitely proud of what Ive done so far and the community we created, even with it being pretty small.
@@seiei i understand why you'd want to post songs that aren't available through official means, that makes sense. however that's obviously not the case for no more sports. if you're going to upload songs that are already publicly available, i think it's fine as long as the artist is okay with it. from what i can tell that is also not the case here. this isn't preservation, this is a blatant disregard for the artist's wishes and copyright, nevermind whether they're a good person or not. even if your own intentions are good, you're going about it the wrong way.
@@nat_nagle I only posted this project because of the person behind it, because there are a lot of fans that didnt know that there was a new project made by them. I do know that i did a mistake by associating both stuff, thats why i deleted the artist name in the title of the songs and put only the project name, but the person just told me that its fine to post the song as long as it its portrayed solely by "no more sports", and thats what i did. I apologize again for any problems caused but im not stealing anyones work, because im crediting it in the description of the videos and the titles.
