Always germinate your seeds before planting, you will reap the best harvest. This is so helpful, especially if you live is an apartment setting, or small duplex, everyone has a wall somewhere. Imagine sharing what we grow with our neighbors, what an example we would set for a younger generation?🤔❤️😊
Shady, I have shared my garden produce with 14 neighbours, and offered to share with three more who turned it down. I do this even though I am on Disability from injuries (and thus very poor), and can only grow in containers due to those injuries - containers like used cat litter buckets. Why do I share despite my poverty? To give people healthy non-GMO heirloom-seed food organically grown with love, to try & foster community, and to share what little I have as a service to God/ Source, and to encourage others to also grow gardens for fresh produce themselves. So, it CAN happen... Alas, though, I have also had people trespass onto our small property and STEAL my best fruits & vegs EVERY year, which really upsets me. If people steal in GOOD times, what would they do in bad? Sad to see that we as a species have sunk so low. That is why countering this degradation through fostering community and cooperation is so important. Cheers!
@K Grant What a beautiful heart you have. God bless you, as you shine for our Master. I often wonder if people will steal from us, but I know God provides and it’s sad to think people don’t trust him
@@kgrant3184 I have to wonder what you would think is bad times if you consider these times good. Things are definetly not the worst they could be, but they are hardly good from where I sit. (Also disabled and below poor) Anyway, beyond my pointless wondering...Thank you for being generous and thoughtful. That does make a difference.
Just hubby and I in our home so I would plant a few bottles then a week later plant a few more and so on so they don't all come ready for harvest at the same time. Thank you so much for this really neat idea! I am going to do this on my deck! We live in the woods and the deer eat everything but my huge wrap around deck is up high with gates so... great place to put this garden wall!
You could grow in boxes off the edge of the deck or use fabric shopping bags as grow bags. Or grow things that repel deer around your garden. Or grow deer ressisatant plants I know there are deer resistant daffodils. Good luck.
I live in the woods also with deer, I'm gonna take the added suggestions as I have a very large second story deck with rails I can hang things off and a bench to set things on 💯
I have so many snails in my garden and last year I tried growing salad and Chinese leaf but they ate almost everything 🥺I have an idea where and how I could try this method 👍👍👍I love the idea of how to upcycle and make use of things you anyway have at home, too. Thank you 😊
We have deer everywhere, too. I tent old sheer curtains over vertical growth like this. On flat growing in the garden I float it over the growth and stake it. Deer won't step on it or climb against it. Also doesn't let birds pull out the seedlings.
I love this gentleman. ❤️ He is so excited about his gardening, it makes me feel more excited to grow my garden bigger. Many people state that they do not have to space for a garden but this wonderful video shows that pretty much anyone can grow at least some of their own food. Vertical gardening gives people with limited space many options. There are also many great videos to get you started on this channel and others on YT. It is such a great feeling to harvest and prepare food that you have grown yourself.
This is great! I live on a ranch, and when I first moved in, I stopped mowing what the previous owner mowed, as I discovered that much of what they called weeds, were highly nutritious edibles, like yarrow and dandelion.
@@leeturner3750 Roots of Dandelions are too much trouble to deal with. Dandelion leaves are great for smoothies. Just don't eat stems, they are too bitter! Tear off side peaces, attached to stem. And use, if possible, YOUNG leaves 👍
What an amazing and clever man to put this all together! I have great admiration for people who are innovative with the minimum equipment. Was enjoyable to watch and very useful for those who are now spending their time in preparedness for food shortages!
Hanging garden have been a thing since before Jesus was a twinkle in gods eye... For this to have any true benefit just for one small family, you need at least the set up you see here multiplied by 50 maybe more...

As a landlord I approve. I am fine with my tenants growing things as long as it doesn't harm the building, is not illegal, and it looks nice without being work for me, that also means that they keep grass around pots trimmed and weeds pulled out of pots or they can't handle having the pots. Just be open, honest, and respectful with your landlord, they are just trying to be protected and keep people from causing issues. I have also said no to some things but yes to others, it all depends on the issues it could cause. I had one tenant who wanted to garden but that didn't make sense for her unit, but she was happy as could be to help take over the front walk/street view that now has everblooming strawberries, mums, carrots, currents, pots of cabbage/greens, more.
You can make it's look even nicer if you use some outdoor paint on the bottles, the darkness also promotes root growth and helps plants grow faster as they should be underground :)
Bravo! Not only you are creating a sustainable source of vegetables, but helping the environment by utilizing plastic in a creative way instead of it ending in a landfill or ocean!!❤👍🙏
what you describe is gymnastic, very good specially for us seniors! My great-grandfather lived to be 100 and he did gardening almost till the end! I always admired him, he had a lot of knowledge, not only concerning gardening!
i did similar project for a friend; he lives in apartment and doesnt have balcony, so we turned one wall into hydroponic garden using rain gutters, sealed on both ends, fish tank water pump and two 20gal buckets for water nutrient mix. he did remove old windows and install bigger ones (from floor to ceiling) so plants have enough sunlight. works amazing, and he didnt have to buy any of green veggies for years now.
this is one of the best ideas I have seen for a standing garden. The potential for this to be very beautiful and functional is leaving me breathless. I will do this!
@@TEOGarden hello sir, I love your idea it's very timely and practical however sir may I ask what I should do because I try to do it but ants keep eating the stem, can ask some piece of advice please.thank you
He must spray the plants pretty often if they are getting hardly any water each time. Still, this a beautifully creative idea & I love that the plastic bottles are being reused this way instead of floating in fee ocean or drowning our coastlines. And every start succeeded. Incredible. I'm 100% going to try soaking my seeds this year. And thank you for showing us where to cut off the lettuce so it will keep growing but you're still getting all of the lettuce you can. Wonderful idea, wonderful video. I love this sweet man that gives us thumbs up every time he finishes a step! 🥰❤
У него ростки на 15 день в одном ряду и зелёные и бордовые,а через месяц в ряду один цвет,пересмотрите видео,чел просто зарабатывает бабло на доверчивых людях и ведь столько восторженных отзывов...
Brilliant Teo Green Fingers. We should teach this in schools to help prepare the children to respect food and understand thr power that lies in a seed!!!!

You could even create a drip system using the top part of the bottle with the lid. Just poke a time hole in the lid, fill it up with water and have it drip down to the botton portion of the bottle.
Amazing skills. Very informative and inspiring. I can't stand watching all of those other chanels that just monologue all the way through and drag out the entire process. Your chanel is easy to watch and follow. Thanks 👍🙏
I love this!! I am going to do this. I have been spending months trying to figure out how to grow food affordably in small space. I can't wait, i will upload a video for you using your method. I am so excited.
you motivate so much to grow! Groceries are expensive nowadays in Seattle....I can imagine my curated wall providing me year-long greens. Thx for the inspo!

OMG. I liked this, while I do have a good sized yard we have a lot of critters that I would be fighting off. Doing a vertical wall above my garage on the balcony is an awesome idea. I have three hungry bunnies in addition to my husband and I that would love these veggies.
Soak jalapeño seeds in a bottle of hot water overnight. Strain the seeds and put in the water in a sprayer. Spray on plants every couple days. Keeps raccoons and rabbits away!
Great idea! I didn't catch what kind of greens he planted in those bottles. I thought the seeds were radish, but not radish! Do you know what they were? Thanks!
@@710totem I was looking at different types of lettuce but could not identify the one he was growing. Romaine lettuce has the best amount of nutrients at least according to the search I did. It is what I feed my bunnies as a breakfast or treat. I plan on growing romaine. I am a complete amateur so wish me luck. Just watching a ton of RU-vid videos on gardening right now.
This is what i like to see, you are so innovative, we really just need our mind to work to create something, try and try until we succeed. Kudos to your work. Look at this there is no reason that you cannot survive with this work of mind. Brilliant ideas! 👏👏👍👍🌱🌾🌹
Possibly but not likely to grow well with how these were harvested. Most of the time plants like these (loose leaf lettuce, spinach, kale etc.)you can harvest just the 2-3 outer most leaves from the plant and within days it will be ready for you to harvest 2-3 more leaves from the same plant. If you are growing a whole wall like this and cutting from 1/2 to 1/3 of the plants daily taking the "cut and come again" harvest approach you can likely keep a single family household feed in greens for an entire growing season. I would also think that a couple of planters at the base of this trellis with a few peas, pole beans or other relatively small vining plant could help to keep it from getting knocked over quite as easy if it is somewhere it cannot be anchored and they would be able to vine up it to make even better use of the growing space and add a bit more variety to the crop as well.
Bravo, when there is skills and experience and passion no need for sophisticated gadgets, you made environmentalist happy, thanks for sharing your knowledge, inspring
Simple and inspirational! Thanks for posting! What do you do with the pots/soil (now filled with roots) after harvesting the crops? Do you empty it all and start anew?
this is truly amazing thanks for sharing your top , top, top skills. Thanks youtube for sharing humanity at its best, helpful , educational , conscientious, peoples , gives me hope
Just wondering if just by watering the top layer would the water seep down to the lower layers. I'd also suggest hanging the whole frame on some hooks so the whole thing doesn't fall down in strong wind.
que genial y muy importante también porque cuidamos el medio ambiente reutilizando todos esos embaces plásticos , felicitaciones y Dios lo bendiga por compartir este video 🙏
I am disabled and sometimes I can’t even get help I have a balcony the first time I lived here I grew some tomatoes and they came out pretty good I enjoy them now and I’m trying again because of the situation things are getting really bad I go to the supermarket and sometimes I cannot find the special foods that I need the organic food they not there anymore they have the regular food even though I have to pick that up in order to eat anywhere really trying to find a way to have some food up to you put some stuff in containers and learn how to do that and see it on the wall now that I see that is very possible that I can do that I’m trying to learn it hope that I can make it happen thank you for sharing this beautiful video
Justo cuando tengo una pared lindera con el vecino de 4.30 x 3.60 mts totalmente desaprovechada y más de 100 envases pet archivados, RU-vid me sugiere este video ... Manos a la obra! Saludos desde Uruguay Teo.
