Is it just me or are these types of clean-up, yard work videos very appealing? Almost calming & positive as I see hard-working people help other people & improve the quality of life for various neighborhoods?
@@JMarieCAlove the city only wants the money. They don't even maintain the city's property: sidewalks, curbs, gutters, etc. 😔 They fine residents for the work the city is PAID to do but doesn't do!!!

Yes I noticed that the bird's were following the men as they went along the path; and with the video speeded up the bird's didn't look scared at all. A smiley face from me 😊😊👍
This two-man Yard Crew did a Good Deed & Great Job at Cleaning the abandoned property and overgrown sidewalk. The city should be ashamed of how they let that sidewalk get overgrown. Be Blessed 🙌🏽😇
As long as that house has been neglected I am surprised it’s still standing or that the roof hasn’t collapsed inward! Now the sidewalk can be used and it’s safer for the neighborhood. Shame on the city for not stepping up. Someone in the city’s government is not doing their job. Thank you for all you do to help beautify your city one neglected yard at a time. Houston should recognize y’all for your kindness and generosity!!
The City of Houston would need to condemn the property by taking the property owner to court. Either the City or Harris County have records on who owns that property. Someone has to be paying the taxes on it, right? If the taxes aren’t being paid, then the county or city seizes it for a tax sale. Most likely the property was once owned by someone that became too elderly to live there. They passed or were moved into a facility and the children took it over and neglected it. Guarantee if the City or County sues to take over the property some greedy family member will come out of the shadows to fight it. With all the people flipping houses nowadays, someone would be glad to buy it. Update: Just saw the neighbor saying the property has been vacant for over 50 years. Disgusting! Now it sounds like some bigwig local politician probably owns it and the city administration won’t go after them. I still bet the taxes haven’t been paid on that property.
You gentlemen take on, tackle and defeats jobs that most others wouldn't touch. Beautiful transformation, and you gave pedestrians back their sidewalk. Wonderful job as always. God Bless you both.

I should think after 50 years the taxes would be in arrears, and the city could sell this at auction on the courthouse steps, maybe get a flipper who will fix it up and sell it to a you g family, if the neighborhood is good.
I love seeing all the birds coming down to snack on the bugs y'all disturb during these kinds of jobs. I also love the fact that you aren't working alone, and that you trim before you attempt to clean the walkways. I see so many others who start shoveling without even being able to see what they are doing. Another job very well done.
I worked at a closed down golf course and had to keep it cut down. I could mow every hole about 5 times a year. I constantly had 100s of birds flying around me. The birds were starlings.
You gentlemen deserve a Volunteer of the Year award for your outstanding work on the sidewalk, let alone the work on that little house. Your contributions to the health and safety of pedestrians are so much appreciated, no doubt. Well done!

One of the most puzzling attributes of humans is the thoughtlessness of dumping their rubbish anywhere and everywhere but especially on neglected grass areas and paths through woods and hiking areas. It all falls back on how they were raised. If the parents littered anywhere and everywhere, then the children are taught that it's ok. It goes to show why the youth of today lack respect of their elders or authority. Thanks to the bleeding heart liberals of the 70's who started all this crap we see nowadays.
I absolutely love the birds you all hire! 😁 They appear in practically every video, trying to grab the insects disturbed in the cleanup or mowing. They must follow you from job to job. So much fun to watch! Love you guys!

If 3-4 people noticed you guys cleaning up this property, you know they knew this property should have been cleaned up. Sad to see able bodies capable to help you guys, but no one offered 😢. All the trash that came out of that ditch. The car seat, my lord! 😱 You two did an amazing job clearing that ditch, unearthing the sidewalk and getting the lawn whipped into shape. I would have loved to see the trees trimmed up to show the house more, but I know this was more to make it safe for people to use the sidewalk. Watching some of those cars zip by while you worked, this was definitely an improvement!!

That was a crazy yard, but so satisfying to watch! You don't need to say your working hard, we can see it, not just hard working, but back breaking at times. Firstly, thank you for taking the time and effort to make this video. It's always amazing to me to see how efficient the father-son team is! It was good to see you guys turn that trash-ridden yard into something decent! I cannot believe how much garbage was in there, and I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to pick up almost all of the trash you encountered! Not many lawn guys do that anymore, so thank you! It was interesting to see the neighbors input on that house and it makes you wonder if somebody is living in there in secret. Anyways, great job on such a large overgrown yard. always interesting to see how different locations have different rules. Where I am (Australia) home residents/owners are only responsible for the maintenance to the boundary, Presuming that this sidewalk and ditch are not on the property. Our shire council is responsible for the lawn/berm/verge and sidewalk so pedestrian safety and drainage isn't compromised
@@KimmoJaskari It has nothing to do with that. It will vary state to state and city to city. I think in most you're responsible for the pathways connected directly to your house, but for some reason the local council does nothing about the upkeep of what falls under their responsibility.
As usual, another incredible transformation. Daniel, I recently discovered your age, 17-18 yrs, such a young man. With your incredibly strong work ethic I expected you to be much older. Your character speaks volumes as to your up bringing, job well done parents, kudos!

Could be the owners past away the house fell in to arrears in county taxes and no one cares about it to many homeless people in the country to let it go unlived in it's ashame

A tip on how to make some of your work easier. If you start picking up trash, start as far away from your truck as possible, this means that as you get closer to the truck, you have less distance each time to get the trash to the truck. Also, if you do the hardest part first, you actually have something to look forward to with the easier things. I do realize that not everyone thinks this way.

What an amazing transformation, the work that you did on the sidewalk and that ditch was really incredible. Regarding that ditch, I know that it isn't your responsibility but why there isn't a guard rail there is amazing to me, Why the city hasn't done that yet is pretty incredible. Once again a great job and as you said a back breaker, keep up the good work. As narrow as that road is it becomes a safety hazard to the people walking on the sidewalk.
Having that sidewalk back can literally save lives, especially on a street like that...if I lived on that street I would gladly at least cut on both sides of that sidewalk to keep it clear after this. Very nicely done! This cleanup improves the entire neighborhood. It should also cut down on mice, snakes, and hopefully make the street a safer place to walk. I saw the birds and it reminded me of when I would cut my grass in Arkansas. I noticed the birds were always there... they were waiting for the grasshoppers! Birds of opportunity. I would love to have a space like that just to plant a vegetable garden. Good job, what amazing before and after pictures!
