Thank you so much for sharing your view on debt! I was in debt pretty much all my life, but in 2020 I went to Dave Ramsey's studio and did my debt free scream! It's very freeing not owing other people my entire paycheck anymore, and it does take away some of the risk in my business! Best of luck as you navigate our current situation 😊
Thanks for sharing!! That is awesome. We paid off a lot of debt thanks to Dave and a ton of hard work as well. It truly freed us to live a much more rewarding life.
If anyone is going to be traveling through the Midwest at anytime, check out small town thrift stores to source items to sell…there’s a huge abundance of good items out here everywhere but not many resellers…summertime weekends are awesome for yard sales out here and people will make a heck of a deal for someone buying up quantity…there’s auctions almost every weekend too in the summers where they’re selling off someone’s entire estate and u can get tons of items to resell for almost nothing….
Although true you can only deduct 1/4 of it off what you owe. I would rather not pay a dollar to save a quarter. Thank you for sharing though as many may not be aware of this.
@@curiouscollection2626 you can deduct the full amount of the interest and zero the principle. Not sure where 1/4 came from that’s if your using your card for personal expenses then that makes sense . For me I use an eBay 5x points reward card for business only and shipping labels that entire interst is tax deductible on that card since it’s my business only card.
I like all the focused points y'all went through. I'm a part time reseller and I don't have any lofty expectations, just a fools hope! New sub here! I'm pulling for y'all!
Everything from servers going down, layoffs, higher fees, shadow banning stores, no longer removing false negative feedback (unless you are able to harass them enough! lol), and an overall malais of ebay. You can only help yourself. Crosslisting is my goal this week.
Yes yes yes I was promised refund for excessive fees their glitch they don’t give a rats lol pulled half store down stopped promoting a week . Then put unsold back promoting bang get sales for two days then nothing! Yes I have to crosslist tooo ahh I think it’s a must! Good luck I tried Vendoo stopped not sure which way to jump! Posh closed in australia too ! Good luck
I have to commend you both for leaving the safety net of a job, I'm struggling with that. My goal is to go part time in a year, then work prn (I'm in healthcare) here and there. It's sort of a catch-22 though because working prn will take time away from reselling, which in turn takes away from profits and learning the trade. One thing for sure is that for the first time in my life I am actually enjoying working (on eBay), what a concept! As always, thank you two for bringing us back down to earth. Doesn't discourage me a bit, in fact I feel better knowing what I'm up against due to your analysis.
We always suggest people grow slowly. Reinvest and when it is time to go full time you will know. It is a hard business but with dedication and knowledge anyone can learn it and succeed. Thank you as always.
100% agree guys! btw if you and or your viewers have not heard the news yet here is the breakdown of the 1000 layoffs that eBay did and in my honest opinion this is the writing on the wall for the end of ebay THEY know it and there just milking it what they can from US the sellers before the fold these are not the SECTORS of the company that the majority of comments felt they were laying off most thought it was Customer Service! THOSE speculators were VERY VERY wrong and should be VERY VERY scared with who they layoffed you have to have to read between the lines In case you didn't know- Ebay layoffs breakdown 261 workers from San Jose Headquarters 20 workers from an office in San Francisco 26 remote workers who reside within the state of California. The balance of workers were remote workers who reside outside of California. Software Engineering was the largest group of layoffs. Additional layoffs included the following positions: Product managers, Recruiters, Marketing Managers, Finance Managers, Data Scientists, and dozens of Director level employees. This round of layoffs is expected to be permanent. so Permanent means they are not going to be replacing these jobs!
Thank you for the break down. A lot have suggested it could be AI at work eliminating the need for these jobs. I don't think that is the whole story. They are cutting till it hurts as they recognize little room for growth and are hoping to just stay relevant.
@@curiouscollection2626 as you stated about "hopium" i feel they are the first ones that need to get off the hopium train (btw love that term! you should trademark/copyright it if its not already taken lol!)
@@curiouscollection2626 I didn’t realize the biggest department impacted was software engineering as well as product managers and marketing managers! Tech companies are expecting AI to fully replace software engineers (HUGE mistake) but a combined layoff of engineers, product owners and marketing managers strongly suggests that eBay is sunsetting its platform…
Not sure who you're speaking to. I wasn't aware that there are ebay sellers that think the calvary is coming. If that's their mindset they need to get out now.
Good feedback numbers and 100%, like many of us smaller sellers. There are sellers with scores like 5,000 fb per month with 300 negatives. These are the buyers who don’t come back to eBay. It hurts all of us and eBay should reconsider this point. The model is used pallet returns at dirt cheap prices with sketchy item conditions and free returns and free shipping and zero customer service. They make a buck or less and just don’t respond to anything but yet maintain 98 and 99 % scores. Not good eBay.
What needs to happen is all resellers to file a lawsuit against eBay for fraudulent practices against the sellers …it needs to be owned by the people who make the platform what it is…not owned by a corporation
People think we're in the worst of it but I think the worst is yet to come. Unemployment is still low. What will happen if unemployment hits 10%+? - WW
