I agree that this was one of the best well-articulated episodes where the transition from one to the other in speech would contribute to the conversation and clarify or enhance the other's argument.

Took a class this semester and it pretty much addressed most of the conversations brought out in this episode. Hardt and Negri's chapter in Empire addresses these forms of love. I also suggest anyone read Lugones and Lorde on love, because it is incredibly relevant and helpful works from women of color that have a super expansive view of love/anger/emotion/and politics.

Abysmal stuff. First, the "readiness" conversation is absurd. Recall that action is the sacrament of Liberalism, not to mention that (insofar as you believe in History) the break between the Philosophical proper and the subsequent Liberal (and/or Marxist) "thought" is precisely thought being replaced by action (statistics, measurements, experiments, carcerality, eugenics, etc.). Second, the "love" conversation is even worse. The common denominator of institutions is nothing but enjoyment: love being precisely the capstone of the aforementioned actions.
