This is exactly my favorite part of being a sneaker head I don’t buy sneakers for the resell value I buy sneakers if I like the color blocking or the style of sneaker and because I like them I enjoy the history behind the different silhouettes of Jordan’s if I see a sneaker that’s coming out like a retro I love learning about the history behind that sneaker. -Kara

@@killahcammm70 speaking for me I picked up the Team One retro, both colorways....total 🔥 . The UNC especially because the mainline Jordans aren't making a white/UNC colorway right now and that's what I wanted. Plus it having DNA of the 13 doesn't hurt because its got the elements I like...... been wearing these out honestly.
Absolutely love the faded black and true blue pairs as well. Very underrated. The Mauve and cement print are other underappreciated OG High pairs that I love from this year.
Great review! 👍🏾 Us old heads that grew up with this sneakers know what’s up. These Jordan 1 Royals reimagined are so dope! I am happy the kids without swag and style aren’t feeling them. I was able to grab a pair on release day and got them in hand yesterday. They are now my favorite of this year for sure.
I started my sneaker collection at the start of this year and thought it would be hard to get most of the shoes I saw releasing throughout the year. But I copped almost everything that I wanted. As far as Jordan 1’s, I only copped 2 pairs: the washed black and palominos. I kinda wanted the UNCs but skipped on them twice because there were other shoes that I wanted more. It’s a blessing and a curse to see where the sneaker market is right now. I watched videos of people saying stuff like “these would have sold out a year or 2 ago” or “resell on these would’ve been high”. It’s a blessing because you can get a lot of the sneakers you want for retail or a little more/less than retail. It’s a curse because it’s easier to get these sneakers that you end up buying too much shoes (which I feel like I’ve done 😅)
As a older sneaker head I absolutely love your perspective on sneakers, screw all that hype, brick, sitting etc. banter, your my type of shoe head and I totally rock wit u. Sneakers keep me young and thanks for all you do.

Me, I’m a sucker for that “bred” color blocking so if a J1 comes out that’s a decent colorway in that blocking, it’s going to be a top tier shoe for me. That’s why I have Palominos at 1, washed blacks at 2 (just on versatility alone) and rounding out my top 5 are UNC toe 3, true blue 4 and Vibes of Naija 5. Have a great rest of your weekend B! I love this video and agree with you 100%. Every pair of Jordans I ever bought is because of the excitement I still have from when I was a kid and could never afford them. I bought my first Chicago retros in 2006 on sale for $60 as a present to myself after saving up enough money for the down payment for my first house. Very few purchases made me happier. Now that I have my own kids reaching the age where they can get that feeling about shoes, I started buying sneakers again and showing them the old nike commercials that I loved to share that feeling. It's a great Time to be a Sneakerhead. Here in Europe (Germany), every AJ1 is sitting on shelves and I love it! If you want to buy a Palomino, Satin Bred, Royal or even a AJ1 low Neutral Grey 85. Go and get them. My LPU is the Royal for only 140 Euros. They're no bricks. They're history! Quality is still not the best. But honestly, they're way better than mostly every AJ1 released back in 2020/2021. Love to your Channel! BRED N BUTTER Worldwide! My best AJ1 High Pickup this year is the Palomino. I always wanted the Dark Mocha. But resellers Bots said "no you don't get them. But I got 40". And now, I've got a "IMO" even better looking brown AJ1. My best AJ1 High in my collection is the Off White Chicago. I'm still happy, I got them for retail back then. Kinda miss the old Times, camping for a fkn Shoe :D
I like the new royals but I hate suede because it’s hard to clean and will fade. It reminds me of the blue suede 5s. I wore the 2017 royals to my wedding so I just prefer leather.

I 100% Agree with EVERYTHING you said.. Good year for wearable G.R...And when i seen the Royals i felt the same way .Lucky enough to Triple up. Doubled on the Washed. The Washed gets the most love of the group ..I see it in people's face that they slept on them. Plus, they feel good on feet.

3:54 funny, I remember in 2020 when them Black Cats came out and prior to their release everyone was hyping them up soo much like they were the best of 2020 and once they released, them joints sat for a good while (nearly full sized run). People were saying “wait they’re just all black shoes…that’s a skip” then a few months later till current mfs had a change of heart and was trying to hunt for them😂 little did they know they bumped up hundreds of dollars till it reached the $1k mark and ultimately were so sick that they’re paying that resell for “All Black Shoes”. The point is, don’t completely count out a shoe because it’s a “Brick” to most people.. (that’s completely subjective) you may change your mind and may still have time to get them for retail price or close(resell)
OMG! I agree 💯% I'm not a real collecter but I have managed to get together 11 pairs of Creps that I love & wouldn't of been able to get a few yrs ago. I've got the Royal reimagined they are so nice. I still like my old skool creps like Adidas pro-models, Puma suedes, but getting AJ1s high is a bonus & I loved the Supreme Blazers that nó one liked so i got them as well. I buy for me to wear. Went against the tide this year. The True Blues are what really hit for me, and then after a deliberation I picked up the Skylines and lack of storytelling aside those did NOT disappoint either. A lot of my favorite stuff is stuff which doesn't get super hyped. My sneaker of the year actually might be the World Make Korea AM 1. In-hand they're just close to perfection. Got basically zero attention despite having better materials and a more interesting look than most of the other 1's that released.
Got all these except the royal reimagine… All of them are super wearable and call me corny but i Love seeing the matching shoe boxes lined up in my closet 🤷🏾♂️ lol.

All I know is the 2023 releases definitely made me more SUPER SELECTIVE on what shoes to cop this year because 90% of the releases this year were an easy pass.
Man you hit it in the nail. I’m in my early 40s and these sneakerhead as today don’t look at the shoe right. It is about the history and story behind a shoe. Then you get the shoes of today like the j. Balvon 3s and those are ridiculous no history just a hype shoe for todays youth. But it does bring it back to both of our points and it’s to but what you like not what you think you can get for them. Great video I just happen to come across it. And yeah, I don’t get why everyone passed on the reimagined royals. They are beautiful and I live my pair.
The Palominos were the must gets for me. I rotate those and the Washed Blacks a ton! The royal reimagined are cool, but decided to get a pair of the airship AMM for the white black versatility
Great words at the beginning. I picked up so many cool stuff, some of them are WAY under retail i mean 50 or 60% off and thats a ccol thing. Sometimes i also go for shoes just because i know i can make a buck if i resell them but thats not the real part of a sneakerhead, it's a sidehustle
My favorite all time right now is the 2015 Jordan 1 High PSG. I watched your review of the SB dunk noise aqua and immediately ordered them. Now this video and I'm thinking....Maybe I do need the Royals. Killing me Mr. BUTTER!!

I got the black n pink pumps and still wear them.... had the royals since like may the suede just breaks down to easily.... so don't wear them to much you'll regret the suede durability

I love jordan 1s, but how fun is it to only have jordan 1!? Ya know.. I just gotta be more selective with the 1s so I can have funds for other stuff like craft 4s and gratitude 11s. I just prefer to have a nice mix of shoes
Resellers aren't sneakerheads, that just is what it is. Maybe they used to be sneakerheads, but they got sucked into the black hole of "hype" and pretending that they're businessmen. I have absolutely no respect for them whatsoever. Anyway, the Reimagined Royals weren't hitting for me at first, but they grew on me, and now that I have them in hand, I love them. Best reimagining so far, in my opinion. I was so worried, when we heard they'd be reimagined, that it was going to be some more of that fake aging nonsense.
The royals would have been so much more dope with the same reimagined theme as the lnf chicagos🔥🔥 that crackled collar but no cracked leather anywhere else. And add a yellow 85 cut midsole and shape because the lost and founds didnt have that and theres all the difference between them and the lnf getting the EXACT same treatment
You're tripping if you think nobody likes these. The trendy hypebeasts may have moved into ASICS etc, however J1s will always have millions of fans, despite not being the most popular sneaker today. I'm personally not a big fan, not enough to cop, but I do like them.
I called them bricks not because of resale value. I called them bricks from colorway sometimes they make shoes that no one likes or they make shoes that look like another shoe and I don’t need those shoes because I have the OGs.
Funny how Jordan's is the ONLY brand people classify as bricks they are some other brands that are just laughable. People use to complain, myself included that bots and resellers would eat all the pairs. Now that we have them we find excuses to degrade them. SMH
Reimagined Jordan 1 “Royal” isn’t it for me, prefer the leather upper instead. Would have liked a construct similar to the Palomino, this “Royal” color way isn’t even the same to the 2017 pair. Easy pass for me, hope everybody that wanted them copped and enjoys them!
I really respect BNB and his opinion but we all are human beings might not agree with one another. So far I dont disagree with BnB I think you are the most authentic sneakerhead and footwear reviewer. Like BNB i like AJs, dunks & forum84s. I like sambas. and bnb is being respectful to people’s opinion even tho he disagrees with them. for example someone on another channel made a big fuss just because I suggest to review the greatest silhouette of all time which is the Sambas (BnB might disagree with this one but thats ok man 😂). but BNB didnt reply that it sucks or anything like that. he said yes sambas getting popular which nice as a reviewer. on another channel i was criticised for just suggesting to review the sambas. BNB didnt do that to me. even to he disagrees with me he was nice and i think of handling comments. I agree with BnB buy what u like as a sneakerhead not how high is resell value. collecting sneakers is not about flipping money is about collecting appreciation of a few greatest silhouette of all time and last time. I'll be that guy also! Those remained are awful! All suede/nubuck jordan 1 is a nogo. I could deal with some like the washed black.. I passed big time. I dont have the 2017s and still didn't want these. I fell if you think if this shoe is 🔥 or double up worthy, you'll wear anything with a jordan logo. Jordan 1 lost and found and jordan 3 remained done right.. this one epic fail. That is why they sitting! The mass don't care about all that suede and nubuck🤦♂️🤷♂️

Great take Butter! Couldn’t agree with you more about your thoughts and list. I grabbed all of those AJ1s this year. My favorite is the washed blacks. Can wear with anything and every function from work and play. I think the resell mentality is more about maturity and acceptance of what you like as a person. Not just seeking approval from those around you and chasing what “celebrities/entertainers” wear. It’s just fun fashion. I’m in your boat of the history and nostalgia of these sneakers. I wore and played in Jordans from the beginning in middle school. Remember watching Jordan win dunk contests and championships in these shoes as well as ones like the Reebok pumps and Dee Brown’s dunk. Magic and Bird in Converse. Love sneakers b/c I love the silhouettes, materials, colors, stories. Reselling and hype is all economics…if they only made 50k instead of 1M of the Reimagined Royals (which I doubled up on), they would be instant sellout and people would be crying that Nike don’t give what the people want. If you don’t like a shoe b/c of color, material or silhouette I respect that. You don’t like a shoe b/c can’t make a buck on them, maybe need to consider a new line of work. I have all those shoes as well. My top 5 are 1. Royal Reimagined 2. UNC Toe 3. Palomino 4. Reverse Laney 5.Washed Black. I also love the color blocking and color of the royals blue is my favorite color. I never had the Royals before so I had to triple up on them. I got 2 pairs for $20 under retail at finish Line and 1 for under at DTLR with a store credit. I love that people are not feeling the Jordan 1s now a few years ago I couldn't get any for retail in my size 14 so I'm taking full advantage of them now. hope they keep that same "brick" energy next year with the Jordan 1s so I can cop what I want.
Gonna join the collection.. all the negativity is cuz there isn't much profit in it in the resell market. The more negative the crowd is.... the cheaper they can buy it for...lol... a good brick flip. Which is profit.
I'm really happy these haven't been a hype shoe (yet). When I first saw them, I pretty much ruled them out because I assumed the resell would be up there. But now seeing them go for retail, I think they might be a double up for me.
