The loader stopped working on the tractor and I'm way behind on general maintenance on the tractor so in today's video I changed the fuel filter, hydraulic fluid and filters and engine oil and filter. Once changed, the loader started working again (thankfully!) Back to work

We've got the same tractor....taking the loader off makes the 400hr maintenance so much easier! Only takes about 5 minutes to remove it!

would be nice. We don't have anywhere good and flat to do it, and you can't imagine how much of a pain it is to get back on when its not level

take a sharpie and write the number of hours and date on the new filters so you know when you changed them.

Yep, always write the date and hours on the filter and you have a handy record of when it was changed.

I've had sharpie wear off my filters as they're used. Now I use an engraver or scratch awl to etch the hours in there

Always a good idea to record it in your owners manual along with the filter part numbers and the brand of fluids if other than factory spec. not only for your own reference but for the future owner in the event you sell it down the road. It’s a good selling point if someone knows the prior service history and details.Also don’t forget to service the front differential at the same time. Likely there are multiple drain spots. One in the middle and one on the lower side of each axle/hub assembly.

I can still hear my dad telling my 12 year old self….”Take care of your equipment they will take care of you”. That was 45 years ago and I still follow his advice.

Hopefully you didn’t do too much premature wear on your hydraulic pump when it was starved for fluid!

I'm alive again. It says thank you for the new fluids and battery. Back to work. Just a suggestion. Maybe make some cutting stands so there's not as much wear and tear on the hydraulic system holding those logs when cutting. Just a thought. Don't know if it matters but it seems it may.

I figure lifting is what the tractor was built for. I just need to do better keeping up with the maintenance.

Here's a tip, I know this is a newer tractor but always start with the fill plug incase it rounds off or breaks.
@WoodsTreeFarm

Solid tip. I've done enough differentials and transfer cases to know about that one & already had the fill plug off. Its a big plastic cap on this tractor, so no biggie.

Take it to the guys at Taylor Forbes in Farmville. Their service department is great! They are only 30 minutes from you and are a Kubota dealer
