I wish the camera had stayed on Shannon throughout. His effortless delivery, amazing voice, mannerisms, ad-libs, smiles, and his sense of humor (1st set of “Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas!”) are almost too much for my heart to bear. Thank you for sharing this gem.
Neither did the studio exec's. Which is how we ended with the version that's all happy and upbeat. The suits said it was too depressing. Personally, I think it fits the tone of the song much better and is the better of the two.
@@twohands2152 exactly, this version is my favorite, but I also like how it leads into the popular orn after. There was a Saturday Night Live performance where they played the song like that and it's my favorite thing they've ever done
