I thought the new trilogy was an excellent reflection of our times. Thoroughly forced, poorly written, politically correct propaganda that made it a point to kill off any joyous remnants of the past.

I think bringing palpatine back has made anakin and luke’s stories in the first 6 movies pretty pointless. I could have accepted it more if they brought back anakin in the flesh to kill palpatine. And not just be a voice cameo. Im a bit salty, i keep noticing more missed oppertunities and plot holes the more i think about ep 9.

At what point are we going to realize that Rey is just the next disney princess.

I was in my mom's stomach, when her & my Dad saw the first Star Wars in the theatre. I was two years old, seeing Empire Strikes Back at the drive-in many times that year. I was seven when I saw Return of The Jedi, and the death of the Rancor Monster, as well as Vader's Funeral pyre at the end made me cry many tears. Darth Vader's funeral pyre was a foreshadowing of what was soon to come, when my own Dad passed away at a very young age. This series was a huge part of my life, and it is so astounding that Disney, a company I adored as a youth, could make me completely indifferent to the entire franchise. I am just a jaded, cold-hearted old fellow, with a troubled past. But I know what quality is; and what they have done here is not it. I am very disappointed... and Walt Disney would be disappointed also, at what these people have done. I truly hope that someday they will have to face him , in either Heaven or Hell (Walt Disney) and try to explain to him: how/when personal greed, a lust for the dollar became more important a priority, than to keep the magic going, and to help make children's dreams come true. Shame, upon you all. Everyone that was involved in this farce, this disgrace of such an important, inspirational and heartful saga that made so many people happy for many years. Kathleen Kennedy, you truly disgust me.

Just do like I do with Silent Hill: Everything after the original creators left doesn't matter.

I want to see Palpatine laughing maniacally as the crying trailer guy is kneeling down in front of him and Palpatine is drenching him in piss. That would make me go watch another SW movie.

It’s dumb how Palpatine acted surprised about the so called “force diad” between Rey and Kylo because Snoke was supposedly the one who connected them! If the emperor was controlling Snoke then he literally would have been the one to connect them and would therefore have known about the diad.

Shonen manga/anime fans be like: Where’s her charisma? We’re used to BS but where’s the consistency and power scaling? This is a bootleg version of dbz with a Star Wars skin.

The first time I've seen stormtroopers with jet packs was in Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and that was in 2003. Therefore these guys have been around for over 15 years....

I love it, in all the hundereds of games, books, comics, shows & expanded universe...none of them were as OTT or unrealistic as this trilogy. Not even Lego Star Wars or the Holiday Special went this far off the rails. Absolutely insane how far they went off-script & meandered into making something worse than bad fan-fiction.

Rey is also a nautical master despite living her entire life on a desert planet. Able to sail through hurricane force winds with waves over 100ft tall all around her the very first time ever navigating a boat.

The Mandalorian is far superior than the Sequel Trilogy. I just watched the Mandalorian episode 8 and it was awesome!

Funny how light speed skipping was such a rare and unique skill that Poe now knows how to do and yet the tie fighters chasing them are right behind them at each skip. Also it was silly that the other new star destroyers orbiting different planets across the galaxy were seen crashing (Forrest Moon, Bespin, etc) after the main fleet gets destroyed on the Sith's secret planet. That's like saying if a Tesla in California malfunctions and crashes and burns up then all other Teslas across the nation, all the way to NY, become toast as well. LOL

Small note on force powers: >Controling animals is established dark side power. (not sure if dark or light in KOTOR2, dark in Rebels) >Bringing people back to life is established in two places: Light side sacrifice (Mortis in Clone Wars) and Dark side by just channeling the force (Legacy comics, Cade Skywalker). Cade was also able to heal wounds. It was established to be unique power, sought after by one of big bads, too.

They also changed how the Throne Room on the Death Star looked too. Palpatine's throne was on a heightened platform that turns into like, a second floor, and the underneath bit where Luke and Vader eventually faced off is completely gone or changed

Even before Battlefront 2, you had the Dark Troopers of the OG Battlefront, who had jump packs, as well as Episode II and III, and both the 2D and 3D variants of The Clone Wars, which featured jetpack troopers. Even before that, there was Boba Fett, who isn't a stormtrooper, but he does prove that jetpacks exist in the Star Wars canon. No one on Jabba's barge ever looked at Boba and said "Woah! What a unique piece of technology I've never seen before!"

I know this is very late but Star wars knights of the old republic the original games in those games you can learn Force healing, life drain, and sabotage there's like a really long list of force abilities you can learn in those games including one called battle meditation which, supposedly allows you to predict your opponent's moves down to the most minut details.

Saw the movie last night with hubby and his family. I liked some of the fights but that's it. Rey kept ditching her friends and it pissed me off that they were so damn loyal even though she was not a team player and abandoned her friends numerous times and put them in more danger. How to you transfer objects through the force? Why did Ben revive her? Couldn't he have lived and be a warning to others and go on to be a better person? Is it just me or was he truly unattractive? Wouldn't it have been more interesting if Rey accepted the darkness and then killed Ben and lived as the Empress (sp?)? Why couldn't Ben stayed on his path and stayed dark and just kill everyone? Also, it was in 3D and didn't even need to be. The female same sex kiss lasted 4 seconds in the BACKGROUND... I heard idiots clapping in the theater and felt like throwing my soda on them. This movie was full of cliches... Oh yeah... They fly now.....

This movie makes Last Jedi look like a masterpiece.

Force healing is part of the "Legends" (The good part) of Star Wars, they just made it cannon with The Mandolorian (timeline wise), and now it is done with Rey and Kylo in the new film.

I thought you were referring to the Reylo kiss as the gay kiss. 🤣

I’m surprised there wasn’t any dancing and singing in it.

Enjoyed the Lucas books that followed Return of the Jedi. Because the rebel alliance was now the new (new) republic and had the same problems the Empire had whilst they were in power. Enclaves of the Empire still existed, but because they were so spread out; they had difficulty dealing with these pockets of resistance (like how the Empire struggled to pin down the rebels as anyone who understands guerilla warfare would appreciate). The fact that the first order simply rose up without any interdiction from the new republic and their combined fleet boggles my mind!

Leia didn't use her Jedi powers to aid the Resistance(she shielded herself from Kylo's missile strike, not the bridge crew) but she is qualified to teach a deus ex machina in the way of the Force.

That fleet of reinforcements was so large I have no idea now how the First Order was so successfully ruling/intimidating the galaxy that whole time.

The kiss is also cut in Germany. I don't think it's in any other version than the original English one. A French friend of mine also said she didn't notice it in her localized version. I only heard of people in the US and Canada reporting on it being it in the movie. Seems like it's being cut in any other localized version there is. So much for them caring

Turned it off after about 10 minutes. Haven't seen the end and don't care. Edit: I still know how the movie ends because I saw Return of the Jedi.

dont forget that doing a similar thing (that was weaker since it wasn't real) caused Luke to die. He projected himself as an illusion basically to a different planet and then immediately died. However Rey and Kylo can physically go to completely different planets and fight each other but be fine

You see what happened was JJ Abrams subscribes to the Naruto school of how clones work, when the clone dies/disappears, disperse whatever, all that clones experiences/knowledge reverts to the original lol. Kind of like when multiple man from X-Factor reabsorbs one of his clones.
