Voting independents is not going to get this government out. Sure the majority of independents are former Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil tds and they usually support the government. The only way to get this government out is to support Sinn Féin, as they are the only party big enough to have any chance to form the next government.

A load more unnecessary vanity features on a kid's hospital which could've just been built on the outskirts of Dublin in one year with nature on it's doorstep to help kids recover. Instead they'll be put into the serpent's eye from the sky. No children in there yet though. They'll be adults by the time they get near finished and then will have to join the nightmare that's the other hospitals.

All these civil servants should be made pay 2000e each for this fiasco. Maybe if they had to pay up they would think twice about doing it again. But in Ireland the tax payer pays for everything, even bike sheds for the td's bikes!!!
Does ANY ONE of these people have the appropriate qualifications and relevant experience to be trusted to do their jobs ? That also goes for the ministers of state in their various positions in charge of departments.
Sure they all live in houses, so they know all about building. Fcuking amateurs being in charge is the problem. The OPW being a bloated, institutionalised waste of money is a secondary problem.
This is happening all over the country. Especially with Councils. This week a farmer in west Limerick is installing an underpass for his cattle. Road was closed at 9 am Monday morning. Council gave 5 days to have all works completed. Spoke with farmers neighbour today, and they expect to have the road reopened on Thursday evening all work completed. Congrats to all involved. Now recently the same Council put in underpasses on Limerick Greenway. A much smaller job took 6 weeks to complete . Also the same Council put an underpass on the N21 road at Barna, near Newcastle West, this work took 6 months to complete. Something seriously wrong here when the council gives a farmer 5 days to complete an underpass , then give carte blanche to contractors hired by them. Nobody knows the real cost of this work.Nor does any politician question it. Totally unacceptable.

You don’t want the answer to how much we spend on fakeugees accommodation. Mosney alone is costing 200 million, they are all working. Simon wants to charge them 15 euro a week. As you know, this is the price of own door accommodation , Wi-Fi, heating, food inclusive in Dublin. Michael D is in a 5 star hotel in New York. He said fakeugees, working or not, should NOT be charged any rent. Michael D has free own door accommodation in the Park, so I can see where he is coming from.

We don’t seem to be able to build anything on time for a reasonable price anymore. More worryingly I can’t see anything being suggested that will fix it.
A useless government backed by a completely incompetent civil service. €380k for a bike rack and we find out today that we spent €1.5m for a security cabin. I used to do shop fit outs and openings and we had to account for any additional euro spent and every single cost. These flutes havent got a clue where money is going. Joke of a country.

Another genius purchase was the giant printer which wouldn't fit in the government building and which eventually cost €1.8m for itself and associated construction works. Also worthy of mention is the €54m spent on useless voting machines which were eventually sold on for scrap for €70k.
The last time I saw this room it was for the RTÉ scandal and they got a lovely bonus in the end. If history is anything to go by there will probably be bikes sheds everywhere after this.

This country is hemorrhaging cash......spending way to much on way to little. A few people are getting very rich on the tax payers backs. You couldn't run a private business the way some people are running this country. Shocking. The things that matter don't get funding but things like bike sheds get 300k, disgraceful.
When the Children's hospital is finished over budget and God knows when , it will still have to be fitted out and and specialist Doctors and Nurces to work there, Don't be surprised if half the Hospital is left vacant because the HSE have not planned to have the staff to work there when they are cutting the ribbon...

Absolutely nothing is a disciplinery process no mater who does what. These people are clueless, they are getting the highest pay but know nothing. When you think back over the years and some of the gross neglegence, i.e. The childrens hospital, The bike shed, The millennium clock, The printer that was to big to to get it into the dail, The equine arena that's to small to hold international horse shows in, The luis that also ran way over budget. If a company was run in the same way, it wouldn't last p...ing time.
