Awesome. just what I was looking for. Updating my 19 ' camper and it has the old brown panelling. My seat cushions like yours are in great condition so I love how you covered yours and when I get tired of the new look I can take it apart and update again.

That was a much easier job than sewing and covering them, I did the seat bottoms by sewing, but I will do the backs your way, it will be much easier and less time-consuming. I love your colours and you did a great job.

Great idea, hope you used long enough staples, when ppl sit and move around or you use them as the mattress pads/ bed An electric carving knife works great for cutting the foam

Wow! This came out beautifully! Thank you so much for cutting those curved cushions- I’m about to try to tackle this myself and the way you did it makes it actually seem possible for me to do too! So thank you for sharing! I have been going nuts trying to find a solution for the corner cushions! Great job! It really looks amazing and profession, and so comfy and homey!!!!! I hope you enjoy that beautiful camper for many many years to come 😍😍😍

I Love it....I am currently turning some old office seating in to a couch and love seat for my sons 1st apartment. I am using probably the exact same mexican blankets that you have only in a different color. I have lifted the base of the couches to make storage underneath. I just need to see someone do something similar just so I knew what I was doing. Like I dont have time for a bunch to sewing so I just wanted to staple mine too. Thank you for this video

OMGoodness! Thank you so much for this video. I have been so dissatisfied with the dinette cushions in my camper. They are also curved in the corner and they are all covered in vinyl, which is so “sticky” and uncomfortable. I have fabric, I’ve just been undecided about how to actually go about it. THANKS!! You cushions look great, btw. :-)

Brilliant! I have been agonizing over how to recover mine.. They are the worst upholstery ever. Quintessential cheap 90's pattern. I AM NOT trying to sew. I. Was going to use the strongest fabric glue I could find but didn't think it would hold. I never though to use the wood. Thank you and you.did an awesome job!

Barbara Rivera i definitely show it toward the end! It’s where I bust out the serrated knife 😀 I essentially just cut out the curve to make two rectangular cushions instead of one curved one.

I love your idea for covering the cushions but aren’t you concerned the wood will crack over time from the weight of your family and friends??

I love this. I've been dreading doing mine because I really hate to sew. It takes some much more time than you would think. I do have a question. Have you noticed any bowing in those boards yet?
@HausvonFloof
@HausvonFloof 3 года назад
Good question! No I haven't though. I think because the cushion itself is pretty heavy with the combination of the actual bench board beneath , it's nice and smushed in there. We also haven't really had any moisture issues inside the camper yet (thank goodness) with it still being relatively new (2017).

Did you secure the particle board on the cushion in any way other than making the fabric taught and stapling it? Wondering how you kept the wood board on the backrest cushions from moving around/messing up the fabric.
@HausvonFloof
@HausvonFloof 4 года назад
No, I didn't secure the particle board. I wanted to make it so that if I ever wanted to change out the fabric or revert back to it's original state, I could. But I have had no issues... I pulled the fabric taught and used approximately 1000 staples and it hasn't budged. 😀 THe only ting i may need to do is add some glue or fabric over some of the staples, because the staples have scratched the wood on back of the dinette in some spots.

I do interior design, and I did everything else just as you did. My question is, How do I remove the bolster at the top of the bench?? It has those buttons and snaps. Not sure how to take that piece off to recover it!!! Please advise me!!! Thank you!!!

how did you get the pieces off around the table without damaging them?
@HausvonFloof
@HausvonFloof Год назад
What pieces do you mean?
@nicoleblinker32
@nicoleblinker32 2 года назад
Since the cushions are what’s used as the mattress when the table becomes a bed, how concerned are you that the fabric pulling on the staples will eventually rip? This is a really good idea but that would be my only concern.
@HausvonFloof
@HausvonFloof 2 года назад
I think it would depend on the fabric. The duck cloth is super super sturdy whereas the Mexican blankets obviously have more holes so I probably wouldn’t put those in a hike where area. We are a family of four so we never use the dinette as a bed.
