That mixture of feelings, make this anime so unique

It’s crazy how I got a notification from both you and “YaBoyRoshi” the same episode and anime.

Now I get why they say Mushoku Tensei is completely different than any isekai, not bc of the characters, the animation, comedy, but the *plot* itself

If you look at the way of this episode you'll understand Eris's grandpa was not a good person. I mean atleast to beast people. The fact Gallus said some Nobles buy beast people- one of the noble is eris' grandpa. But his death is sad for Eris. So it's a very good representation of real life. Someone good for you may not be good for someone else.

For the beast people being stripped naked and splashed with water is the worst punishment. That is why they were doing that to him. There are three sword styles. Sword god(attack focused), Water god(defense focused), and North god(trick focused). Rudy's dad practices all three.

If you remember in the first half of season one in the flashbacks of rudeus he was mugged and called „cripple penis“ and so. That he can now be like that here is a huge improvement of his character growth and chance that he is now more rudeus than his past self. That’s really nice… And funny arkward 🤣🤣

Several things the anime changed/left out. I held myself to a standard to make this spoiler friendly and only the points that have any relevance to characters & story. Overall its still a great adaptation. 1) Rudeus actually escaped prison momentarily before returning to it. Decided it was best to stay put. Understandable why they skipped this. 2) Despite the rough living conditions in the cell, they actually offered great food to Rudeus. This was sort of shown. It was also mentioned up that the guard gave 2 meals a day instead of one after Rudeus complimented the food (implied guard cooked it). 3) Before fighting Gallus, Rudeus takes out a bunch of the smugglers. This was mostly skipped. Would have been cool to see Rudeus in his first large scale battle and to show how strong he was. 4) Rudeus rescues the guard who was throwing cold water on him. Minor detail, but is some characterization for both of them. 5) It was emphasized that the reason the beastmen were losing the fight against the smugglers was because of the smoke effecting their noses. Once Rudeus put out the fires, the fight switched from a losing battle to a winning one (from the Beastmens perspective). 6) Rudeus is still half naked when fighting Gallus. He only had the vest that he ordered Geese to give him (off his own bug infested back). Makes sense why they changed that. 7) The main guy who confronted Gallus with Rudeus was a guy named "Gimbal" and not Gyes (Gyes is the one who captured Rudeus). Gimbal and the other two beastmen died in that moment Gallus tossed the hostage. It was at this moment, Rudeus realized he fucked up. 8) In the fight with Gallus, he actually stabs Rudeus's foot into the ground. When Rudeus uses an explosion to create distance between him, he got worried he nearly cut his toes off. 9) When Geese mentions Gallus is using North God style, he also mentions its a "Atofe" style of it. This detail is skipped, but shows that Geese knows his stuff. (also foreshadowing) 10) When the Sacred Beast attacks Gallus, he (Gallus) actually says something incredibly funny: "It’s just like the rumors said! You really do set your dogs loose on people. What an underhanded trick!” This is referring to Rudeus and Eris...Why did the Anime skip that?! 11) When Geese throws the black powder at Gallus, Geese yells something very specific that he knew would make a North God user try to protect their face (from their training). This may be important later on, but they skipped it. 12) After defeating Gallus. Rudeus was not knocked unconscious. He tied up Gallus and pet the Sacred Beast (WHY DID YOU SKIP THIS ANIME?!) 13) The reason/method the smugglers attacked was not explained. Might be explained next episode so I won't say anything. Overall this episode was great. Loved the new opening. Action was great (albeit felt a bit short). My main complaint is the pacing. It really feels like they have stepped on the peddles. This is very subjective as I read the novels which are long and detailed. Perhaps if I hadn't read the novels, the pacing would have felt normal. As always try to keep spoilers in comments to a minimum. And to use proper spacing to hide the spoilers (make it so "read more" has to be clicked for the spoiler to be seen.

Heyo guys. Fellow WN/LN reader here who completed the series to share some neat trivia from this episode without spoiling anything further than it. 1. Gyes and the Village Elder know Human Language already so they can easily understand Rudy and his party 2. Tona and Tersa were taught at least enough Human Language from Eris as she also learned Beast Language from them a bit as well. thats why in the later parts, they can understand each other. 3. In this arc, they were supposed to be shown fending off Sea Creatures (iirc, like large lizards) while the rain continues to flood the lower grounds. So they were supposed to be defending the village alongside with the beast people. 4. The sparring between Gyes and Eris was pretty new here must be anime original (iirc). The fact that they only went with one strike and nothing else is the very discipline of the "Sword God Style" both Eris and Gyes are practicing under. It kinda goes like this "if you cant defeat your opponent with a single strike then you are dead" its that kind of discipline, so them doing one strike towards each other is enough for them to gauge each other's strengths. 5. Also this is the arc when Eris actually had gained some friends. and even one to become a tutor towards. 6. The Seven Great Powers Monument (the blue stone like thing) they just passed by over and gave a brief overview of with Geese is an important factor in the power heirarchy in this world. And the ones who hold these ranks will become a major player in the plot down the line. Some of them will be encountered by the Party too. This monument writes down the CURRENT rankings AUTOMATICALLY. (through magic I guess) so if one of these God dies or is killed, it will rewrite it and pass the title to someone Else OR make a NEW TITLE altogether in the ranking. 7. About rudy making the Ruijerd stone figure, its his way of following the promise of helping Ruijerd with the Supard's bad reputation around the world. basically the plan was If rudy does some goodwill to people of different races on their journey, then as a show of the debt those races have for him, rudy will give them a Ruijerd stone figure (and soon a children's book about it too) and tell them that the Supard are good guys. The ranking goes: 1. Technique God 2. Dragon God 3. fighting God 4. Demon God 5. Death God 6. Sword God 7. North God As Always love the OP. I do hope more anime do this. Instead of spoiling plot and character reveals, why not just keep the anime running while the OP plays and do it to show off the world building.

There's struggle for power in the Greyrat house and they took advantage of the mana disaster to kill Eris' grandfather.

I will say one thing about why Iris is grandfather died but I'm not gonna spoil anything anything do remember when That magic orb showed up And Rudy and the grandfather talked about it then then 2 years later it was still there and no one was really panicking about it So he did have some time to respond to it but no one knowed what it was

This episode went insane. Animators deserve $$$$.
